My new contractor confirmed the terrible work and is helping with the additional water damage and mold caused from the improperly constructed roof. This contractor continues to try and put a lien on my place for "payment of completed work". I will not pay another dime.

Matt tries hard, however, there seemed to be a lot of little mishaps on this job…read more On the positive side, he painted the entire interior and I understand and realize that there are going to be things that are unseen, however, preventable things were like how he measured and then ordered the wrong window size... and because of that, it took longer, along with he then had to take some siding off twice and do some work twice... I don't think Matt intentionally goes out of his way to screw anybody, but it wasn't a great fit. It was good enough for the price we paid.

Matt came to the rescue when the plumber I hired turned out not to be licensed. Matt took his time…read moreto find out what the fake plumber had "done", did a thorough inspection of everything and ended up fixing quite a few things. He was the only person in 3 years that could remove the cap off my clean out without breaking it, clean it out and put it back together. After the first "plumber" ripped me off, Matt worked with me to get my house back to a condition that I had peace of mind wouldn't fall apart.

We wanted to build a unique, custom deck that was half covered and half pergola with a lowered seating and fire pit area. We provided him a rendering of roughly what we wanted, but didn't have much else so he had to ask a lot of questions to bring the design to life. He showed up on site (a 30min drive one-way for him) to put eyes on the space, then gave us a quote in person. The cost was a bit high for our budget (due to the complexity of the project), so we worked a few changes to lower the cost into our range. After we signed the proposal, he started immediately. He said it would take 10 days and he met that timeline. Throughout the project he had a few questions and alternatives, and he didn't move forward without first getting our input. He went above an beyond with quality, you can tell he loves the work he does and takes pride in his work; he did not cut any corners. I would recommend him to anyone; if my grandma needed a new set of stairs, Jim is my first call. He is trustworthy, quality, and fairly-priced. You can bet he'll get my business for any future projects.

The cost to replace the security camera that he broke, was nearly $400.00. He promised to pay for it when I sent him a receipt, which I did! He has still never paid for it! He also advertises the price of $400 on his business card, but charge me$500, claiming that it's the size of my house (1846 SQFT, Single Story, shingled Roof, 8 years old). He didn't know the proper procedure for moss removal. He didn't even use the right product for it!! He kept trying to find anything that he could possibly come up with, to get more work. I wouldn't hire him ever again!! Irresponsible, Disrespectful, Unprofessional, with a Record in Clark County, WA.

Second experience with this contractor was a terrible one. New front door install was not level…read more Charged $325 plus I purchased the new door and hardware... over $600 total. Three return trips later where they attempted shimming and minor adjustments and the front door was still messed up. I needed this fixed right and didn't have time to keep waiting and rescheduling so I asked for a refund and was promised one via email. Trusting and thinking a check was on the way (minus any materials and dumping fee for old door-because I am a reasonable person), I went ahead and hired another contractor for remove and replace. Door was pulled and reinstalled by the new contractor in less time, done right the first time, and was $100 less in labor cost charged. Didn't receive a check after 60 days, so... followed up on promised refund and was told I had "misunderstood" and that because I didn't allow them to come out and try AGAIN to correct the problem AND send them all receipts and contact information of new contractor, they wouldn't be sending a refund. Seriously? If they'd have come out to do the job on a fourth visit, they'd be out the labor costs... they'd already been out three times and knew it wasn't working properly... it was past time to just make it right with a refund. I'm sad to have to write this. If I'd have received the promised refund, I wouldn't bother with negative reviews. But they had ample opportunities to make this right and chose to insinuate that I was trying to scam them instead. Still determining if it's worth a day off work to follow through with small claims paperwork.

Bighaus Construction builds "dreams come true"! The BEST builder! Whatever you want, need, or…read moreimagine... this company CAN AND WILL DO IT! A few 'words' about Bighaus: professional, dedicated, reliable, experienced, knowledgeable, courteous, fun, flexible, prepared, considerate, tidy, innovative, faithful... and so many many more. But... the things that really really impressed us: 1. the company is well respected by County Professionals... plans and permits had NO problems. (no permit 'issues', no long downtimes 'waiting for permit'.) 2. the company is well known by suppliers and vendors... they obtain supplies and equipment easily and quickly. (materials arrive early or on time, no downtimes 'waiting for materials', project stays on schedule.) 3. the company truly cares about project harmony... their attitudes and conduct are respectful of each other, their clients, and the clients neighbors. (no unnecessary noise; our neighbors commented that alot of the time, they didn't even know the builders were 'there' working.) 4. the company "cleans as they build"... any minute they're not building, they're cleaning... there is absolutely NO construction chaos on the property. (waste and scraps went into one pile; magnets were often used ALL over the area to collect nails; tools and equipment were neatly organized every night before they left.) 5. the company is patient and helpful with client "change requests"... and they offer excellent solutions to keep costs under control. (they're super smart about "changes" and how to accomplish them fast and affordably.) As a customer of Bighaus Construction, LLC. we saw that they go "above and beyond". The building they constructed for us is a 'testimony' of their craft reputation, construction ability, and heartfelt desire to do the very best. (Bighaus Construction, LLC was hired to do an AG/SHOP Project on one of our properties in Birkenfeld, Oregon.)
