In a darkened, musky basement at Yonge and Rglinton, one can participate in a collective consciousness of enjoying some stand up and a few drinks. Tonight, there were three performers and the MC, and while it seemed there were more misses than hits, the crowd seemed to be lovely and appreciative of the efforts of the comics giving an earnest effort. There was a point in the show where this poor fellow from Elliot Late became a bit enthusiastic and was the recipient of a public scolding by the one female performer. While the crowd erupted in cheers I felt a bit dismayed that he was called out in such a fashion. You might also catch yourself looking down at your watch in the midst of reductive, dry and unfunny bits. Overall, the venue is perfect for an occasion to participate in something a bit different. I believe there are different pricing for different days of the week, and Saturday night it was $20/each. On our way out, we were given. A 2 for 1 coupon for a return visit that must be used by a certain time.

Omg I am a comedian and I love headlining Absolute Toronto ! The food, the staff, the fans!!!! It's the BEST!!!

Buffet food! Loved the mashed potatoes the most.

Great experience all around tonight, from the service of the staff to the comedians. We got the dinner and show option (the $43 price quoted on the site covers taxes and tip), which was nice because the dinner was self-serve AYCE and since it "forced" us to arrive a bit earlier than show-only customers, we ended up getting first dibs on where we wanted to sit! Our guide, knowing that it's our first time at a comedy club, kindly recommended some excellent seats to us, for which I'm super grateful. The atmosphere once inside the theatre was excellent; the little candles created great ambience. The room filled up quite quickly given that it was a Saturday night, and overall it was a really cozy and lively atmosphere. Our server was excellent, checking on us several times throughout the night, yet somehow wasn't disruptive at all either. The highlight of the night, the comedians, were all fantastic - they had the room laughing all throughout the show, I had moments where I had to wipe laughter tears off, and overall it definitely put my party in a great mood. This was the perfect intro to live standup comedy for us and there's no better way to kick off the weekend with an evening of laughs and drinks and good cheer. Would definitely recommend and come back!

This was the third comedy bar that I've been to in Toronto and I absolutely loved it! Pun intended! I laughed my butt off. I went with two girlfriend's on a Friday night. The place was packed. The seating was great; you could see and eat from every seat in the house. Service was frequent and friendly. The drinks were strong, and decently priced. The nachos were great too - our second choice, since they ran out of the spinach and artichoke dip before the show even started (weird!). I was surprised they only had bottled water though. I thought it was a condition of their liquor license that they have to have free water available. Bit of a rip off there in my opinion.

I've come here twice now - once on a Wed (pro am night for $5) and again on a Saturday (dinner and show for $27 not including tax and tip). Had a great experience both times. Well worth it for the money you're paying. First time I went, we didn't make a reservation. We got seated near the back cause all the closer better seats are saved for people who made reservations. Spots were decent nonetheless, and there were a lot of comedians on for Wed. Some were really funny, some weren't as funny - but overall good quality of comedians keeping in mind it's pro am night (mix of pros and amateurs). Saturday was great. Host and headliner were really funny. Show alone would've been $15 if we didn't do the dinner and show package. Dinner was good! It was from 6-7pm, and show started at 8. It's buffet with salad, veggies, pasta, lasagna, roast beef and mashed potatoes. I really enjoyed the salad bar (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots) with the 4 dressing options. The cheese on the pasta was good, and the mashed potatoes were actually really tasty. I wasn't impressed by the roast beef or lasagna. Make sure you start eating early enough, cause they don't refill the buffet items. Dessert was bite-sized butter tarts, carrot cake, and brownie. Overall, this is a great way to spend an evening, and I'd say is good value. Some things to keep in mind: Box office is cash only They don't serve tap water in the comedy seating area (which I entirely disagree with, especially if you're serving alcohol) - but they do sell bottled water for $2

Taking a reservation seems to be like talking with the dictator of GoAwayAStan. The seats are very uncomfortable and the food is cheap and bland. As for the comedians... they are pretty darn funny. I've heard they can be hit or miss but the few times I've gone I guess I've been lucky on that part. Part of me wants to give this a lower rating with the issues but since there are so few places with good comedians I just can't.

My wife and I had an incredible time last Sunday night watching Tracey MacDonald perform! She was hilarious and we were still laughing at some of her jokes on the way home. Next time she's in Toronto, don't miss out on TMAC! She's my favorite female comedian!

Beats Yuk Yuks! My favorite place to catch some laughs after a long work week. Entrance price is cheaper than a movie ticket and food is even cheaper. Delicious too, go for the nachos (huge) or poutine if you just want a snack. The MCs are always great and line ups usually awesome, especially when Trixx is featured!

I always have a great time here. The comics are 90% great (I've seen a couple of misses) and their drink and food prices are not exorbitant. This is a really great place to spend an evening with friends or on a date. The only thing I don't really like is the fact that service during the show is kind of slow. They don't seem to have enough staff for all the big parties, so you tend to wait a bit for drinks, unless you got a pitcher with one friend. Some tips: - Always make a reservation - Remember your reservation number - Bring exact cash If everyone does this, that obnoxious line to pick up tickets would be way shorter.

The newest and arguably best comedy club in Toronto brings comedy back to a bustling Toronto neighbourhood that is no stranger to laughs. The former home of the Yuk-Yuk's Super-Club, the entire operation has been made over to provide a showroom designed for comedy. Patterned off the hugely successful Absolute Comedy club found in Ottawa (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/absolute-comedy-ottawa), the showroom boasts space for well over 200. Like its Ottawa counterpart, a main bar and dining area allow for pre-dinner meals and dinner packages, and post-show drinks with free pool and foozball. And for a comedy club, the food is quite tasty as well (either the regular burger or the Buffalo chicken burger filling the hole nicely). Wednesday nights are the Pro-Am nights where amateurs and professionals alike take the stage trying out new material. The week's host brings the acts to the stage and the headliner for the week does a brief sample set to allow you to see the type of comedy that will be heard throughout the weekend. Tuesday nights are becoming more and more popular with theme shows helping to fill out the week. Every second Tuesday, Andrew Evans hosts "The Dark Show", a night of comedy where the material is, well, dark. You've been warned. A couple of other warnings: You need to call for reservations, and if you're really unfortunate, you'll see me taking the stage. If you see me, say hi. Once I'm done.

Awesome club! Food was also good.

Decided to try a new comedy place and to be honest maybe that wasn't the best call…read more The line up was okay, the comedians seemed to be a little underwhelming and very obviously following a script, personally I like comedy shows to be more engaging rather than reading off a script. We ordered drinks which were average comedy club drinks, nothing special. What bothered me is my partner ordered a whiskey sour and they gave him an old fashioned. When he went to tell them they brushed it off and said that's what he ordered. So basically he was forced to drink this old fashioned now and pay for it, pretty bad service in my opinion. I also didn't like how all the seats were leveled so you could see the comedian, except the 3 back rows. We also got to the table first which had better seats, but due to the check in process, someone else got a hold of our table so we had to sit at a worse spot even though we got there first. It's usually first come first serve at comedy shows or you reserve your seats in advance. This left me with a bad taste in my mouth, including my friends that joined me and I'll probably just stick to yuk yuks going forward.
