These were the best 2 hours spent so far in a comedy show place, nice beer, good prices. I did not like much that most of the comics talk a lot about cultures and make fun of how people speak, accents etc. I am not sure if this is how is here in Toronto, but they were super funny. If you are looking to have a great time with friends and have a good laugh , this is the place. I do not know how my friends got free tix for this. read more

On Sunday, the 19th of August, I attended this comedy club for the 2nd and last time. After paying the $10 entry fee, ordering a glass-of-red wine and a large Greek salad I requested a glass-of-water to hydrate while drinking the wine, with intention to order more beverages/dessert. The waiter informed me I could obtain only 'bottled water', management didn't want to run out-of-glasses during the show, nor would they serve water during the show. Mentioning my request was not 'during-the-show', I was informed it was 'policy' in spite of witnessing glasses-of-water at surrounding tables. The 'policy' was repeated even after informing the waiter that I needed the water-to-hydrate. The 'show' did not go well, neither was a 'tip' forthcoming with such inhumane, if not illegal, behaviour and service. Confusion abounds, as well as a sad impression of this business' practice. read more

Had a awsome time! lots of fun and lots of laughs. I went for my cousins birthday party, we had a large group of people including friends and family and we all had a blast. The food was great and the comedians were even better. Loved it! would definetly go back. read more

Just head to their website to check out who's playing and prices. Every Wednesday it's $6 for 2 hours of comedy. They have the main guy from the weekend come on as well as 5-6 amateurs, and by amateurs, they mean people that go around ontario clubs doing standup. It is completely worth it to go. The way their booking system works, you have to either pay up front, or get there and pay in cash. They have an ATM right beside the ticket booth. The nachos are bland and small, but it's worth it to go just for the comedians! Oh, and they only have bottled water! I just drink up before I go to the show. There's a bar too, but the main thing is the comedy. Do yourself a favor and go. read more

I have no problem with the comedians but the manager is terrible and I am disappointed with the way they operate. I got a 2 for 1 coupon from my employer, and called to book a reservation for Thursday night 3 days prior. The manager was ready to take my credit card for the reservation until I mentioned I was going to use a coupon. He then told me the club anticipated a busy night and would not be able to accommodate me and my friend. I asked what if we pay regular price, he said yep I can take your reservation now. I understand they are just trying to run a business but way to tell me "WE DO NOT WELCOME CHEAP CUSTOMERS". And did I mention it wasn't even a weekend I tried to book? im not really a comedy club guy but this place is really chill! tix are very reasonable at $10/head. Food is standard and really cheap so you can always grab a bite to eat as well. Anyway the acts are funny as heck. I was laughing my butt off the whole time. I'ldd definitely be back. Beer and jokes. my kind of night. Had terrible experiences with this place, specifically with it's staff... Initially I thought they were just having a busy day so I let it go, but I tried going again and I was told they would not except my admit 2 vouchers because we didn't pay enough money for them (keep in mind these vouchers were provided by Absolute Comedy and purchased through our schools student Union at the University of Toronto, for $20)... They said because there were only 20 seats left for the show, they would not except our tickets... our vochers, again remember they were provided by Absolute Comedy, expired the day we were barred from going, and our tickets didn't say anyehere on them that they wouldn't be accepted if there were 20 seats left .... to top it all off, we were offered no refund by the company...because of this and many other terrible experiences with their customer service, we will definitely not be wasting our hard earned money there again and will continue telling our friends to go to other comedy clubs in Toronto (the other clubs around Toronto are completely different, and I couldn't say a bad thing about them)... In a nut shell, DO NOT GO TO ABSOLUTE COMEDY! read more

Went in for the dinner and show. Was forced to pay gratuity on the bland food, which wasn't a surprise, but was surprised that we also had to pay gratuity on the cost of the tickets as well. Almost tripled what I would normally tip for good service which this was not. They told us we could pick any seat in the house, we asked which were the best ones, when we went in we were crammed beside another couple, and saw several better seating arrangements which we should have taken in hindsight. The show was pretty good, but the headliner Pierre Brault was not nearly as funny as the MC. The waitress sassed us when we didn't order any food, even though I told her we just ate in the pub area. My girl asked for water and she blasted out that it was two dollars for a bottle, that they don't serve tap, in an unnecessarily loud voice. Unpleasant staff, bad food and gouging me on the tip means that I won't be returning here and will recommend against this establishment to my friends and co workers, there are plenty of professional comedy clubs in Toronto, this is not one of them. read more

We had a wonderful time that was ruined by poor management. The comedians were hilarious, so I'm sorry to write a negative review. Had some food, which was totally fine. Got the bill, paid, and on the way out, the manager stopped us and asked if there was something wrong with the service. Confused, we said no, and the manager asked to know why we hadn't tipped. We were there with a large group and the menu said that groups of 6 or more would be charged a 15% gratuity. Apparently, this is no longer applied automatically and we simply missed it on the bill. Calling us out for a simple mistake is a terrible management move and the manager ensured that we never go back. Sadly for their business, we would have returned had the manager not been so rude. It was extremely embarrassing and a complete accident. We were accosted in front of a group of people, and had this been dealt with with more tact, I would not be writing this review. read more

A place to relax and laugh the troubles away... Superb Amateur and Professional Comedy to be thoroughly enjoyed with Friends or Partner... I strongly recommend Absolute Comedy if you've had a bad day or even a good one too... Food is great if you choose the Dinner and a Show option, but even if you don't, the in-house servers are awesome and can get you some great menu choices to nibble on while you enjoy the show. Just be careful to not laugh with a mouth full!!! read more

Went there on a friday night with my boyfriend for a date-night out, we really were not expecting much. Mostly because of the location and how it looks. First of all, I want to say i went a little bit paranoid at first, we called the night before to make rsvp (which is better, cause the place gets packed), and they asked me for my credit card information, which included even the security number. I was not sure about it so afterward I called my bank, seemed like there was nothing to worry, but anyway you at first feel like is not so necessary. When we arrived on friday night to finally purchase the tickets (cause even when they asked me info and could have easily charged the tickets, they told me is not possible) I asked at the box office how I know my info is secure as a client?? the guy was actually reeeeeaally nice, he told they have been doing the same procedure for years (more than 5 I think) and he seemed really honest too they way he explained it all, call me cheesy but you know when someone is not hiding something, and the guy seemed to know what he is doing (in the good sense), he also told me they destroy records at the end of the week to avoid having problems like that, which makes a lot of sense and left me with confidence to make more reservations in the future. we took yelp users advice to have supper somewhere else , so we did. Btw we went first to buy the tickets and then to eat without rush. So we were back at 8 45 and we had tickets but it was already full, our table was one of the last ones but it didnt really bother to us cause the size of the place is perfect. The waiters are quite nice too, they really try not to bother during the show taking orders and they even walk and talk with whispers which we found funny but great (good tip for them!). The show is great. There is an opening act and then 2 more stand-ups and then the headliner. Everyone was hilarious!! it was a really pleasant surprise, the jokes are not lame at all (taking into account that people in toronto is not exactly candid). They just dont bite their tongue, nothing to complain here!. we ordered during the show a pitcher of sangria and gotta say was one of the best ones I have ever tried here in the city. Arrive on time even if you have RSVP already, 30 minutes is just perfect. But you need to arrive at least 45 minutes before if you want to buy tickets, believe me the place was full!!!. Nothing to worry, there are plenty of tables, but you want a good spot. we will consider this for next time, cause is even better if you are closer, just dont sit in the front if you dont want to be picked and mocked by them, but as always is just a show and we just want to have a good time, so nothing personal. Dont hesitate on visiting this place, you are gonna have a goods time. Good place to hang out with friends or even having 1st dates. read more

I had never been to this club but did so on invitation from a friend who is a regular. The acts were beyond amazing, I must say it was an awesome comedy show. My group included 4 in total, two veterans and two newbies so to speak. We loved it!!! Unfortunately, our night did not end so well. As we were leaving the club through the bar area our server decided to stop us in the middle of the crowd with a bill asking if it was ours, to which we responded yes. He went on to let us know that it was paid exactly to the penny, and he needs to share his tips and that does not work. Shocked that we were stopped in the middle of the crowd with everyone staring at us, I took the initiative and advised the waiter it was no problem, at which point I proceeded to give him an additional $2...(Bill was 30). At this point I proceeded to leave along with my group, when the waiter started arguing that a lousy 7% did not do it. I was in disbelief all night. We had such an amazing time, we had a few drinks and paid, and this guy decided to have a confrontation with customers for a tip. What got me boiling was not the fact that he asked but the manner in which he did it, as well as the fact that he went on to criticize the amount of tip he received. Wonderful comedians horrible experience with the management. I had been there a few times, enjoyed the performances though the service was poor. But last experience was so horrible that makes me never pass by this place. People usually see a full house even in weekdays but not everyone pays for the ticket. They get your contacts and try to call you after a few weeks and pretend that you are the winner of ten free tickets and ask you to bring your friends to fill their weekday show (assuming people spend money on the food and service anyways. It is the only thing management cares about). I got this call and confirmed the day we are going. I invited old friends and told everyone that the show is awesome but two hours before the show they told me that they are SOLD OUT for the day and they don't care what we are gonna do. They just made fun of us and talking to the manager he tells the best he can offer is another day and hangs up the phone on me. Imagine someone calling you asking you to come with ten people and you confirm two days in advance and they just find paying costumers and think you have to accept. Just sorry to write such a review for a place where great artist perform but i know these artist should have even worse stories from the management. read more

DO NOT BUY ANY VOUCHERS! Absolute Comedy has the worse customer service and they did not let me use a voucher after I spoke to someone to make a reservation and reassured we could use 2 vouchers in one night instead of one. We spoke to the employees there for 45 minutes trying to come up with a compromise but they made us pay full price for the tickets when the second voucher was expiring in a couple days and we couldn't come back a second time since the show would have been the same. The staff are overwhelmingly and nauseatingly rude, I have never been treated so badly before They have no idea what customer service is, and the whole experience put such a bad taste in my mouth that I will never step foot in there again. Not to mention the comedians were awful - one didn't even have any material prepared and you could clearly tell. There are only so many people you can ask "What is your name?
