Pros:
Friendly staff (the older lady with blonde hair).
Cheaper than other salons in city centre.
Nice finish to pedicure.
Offer refreshments after and during some treatments.
Treatment rooms comfortable enough.
Cons:
Door buzzer so loud and every noise heard in treatment room.
Staff carrying out treatment unfriendly and stand of fish. Appears bored and inexperienced with a don't care attitude.
Staff kept coming and going from treatment room without communicating what was happening. Made me feel very vulnerable with the door suddenly opening and closing as I didn't know who was coming in due to eyes being covered and no communication from staff member during treatment at all. Hence feeling unsafe added to overall feeling of the opposite if intended feeling, which was to become relaxed.
The staff doing treatment kept blowing her nose and texting in between putting products on me and was like a bull in a china shop when walking from me to the sink where the products were.
Her 'technique' was to slap products on then wipe off with dirty, pre used sponges.
The towel I was given was dirty as was the head rest. It's a very rough and ready place, with the emphasis on rough.
There was no relaxing facial massage, which defeats the purpose of a facial. In addition, every product that went on was on for less than ten seconds (I'm not exaggerating) before being wiped off with the said dirty sponges and then my face was dried with a Kleenex, which the staff member kept pushing down onto my face harshly. Again, element of relaxation went out the window.
Finally, the music kept skipping and it was flipping Norah Jones. The music is supposed to relax and unwind your senses. This didn't.
