I never knew this place existed until I came here for the grand opening of DNA Cards. I can imagine…read morehow busy this place could get, because an indoor sports venue seems perfect for Arizona's 120-degree summer! One complaint is the smell of sweat and mildew, with a mix of smelly feet. It was manageable, but definitely not pleasant.

The main focus of the building is their batting cages and pitching tunnels. It seems like a great training space for baseball and softball players. There was a constant stream of batters and teams coming in and out. Our soccer team was down the way in an enclosed turf space and it was perfect for small sided drills, juggling, and foot work. Our team had so much fun training this way and mixing it up a little. I just kept thinking in the safe haven from the heat how the building has so much potential, but a lot of it is unoccupied. There is a large, gated in soft floor space, a restaurant space and an arcade type space. It would be awesome to have somewhere to do indoor training for other sports like soccer (goal shooting and accuracy) but also tennis (with a ball machine), lacrosse or golf. Anything needing long enclosed spaces with either machines or large goal/target set ups. It's quite loud, echoey, and constant cracks of the bats but there is seating all around for parents to wait and watch. You can definitely park down and get some work down with some headphones in though.

Recently, our 86-year old mother was a patient at this facility for 3-weeks. She had no idea that…read moreshe would be checking into a rehab after having shoulder surgery. To say that she did not want to be there is an understatement. The day we checked our mother in we met with many of the team members who would be in charge of our mother. They were all very nice. The facility itself was nice on the inside and outside. There is one team member that I would especially like to thank. His name is Joshua, and he is the Patient Advocate. He met with my siblings and myself along with our mother, the day she was checked in. During the meeting, he was very attentive to my mother which helped make her feel at ease. He listened to every concern we had for our mother. He took notes and followed through with all of the details and concerns that were discussed. Joshua is amazing at his job! He is professional and has a perfect personality to be an advocate. He is patient, understanding, kind, efficient, and very helpful. One day after a really hard physical therapy appointment, no staff members were able to help my mother be put back in her bed. She was miserable while she waited 15 minutes in a wheelchair. I text messaged Joshua and he was there within 5 minutes. I don't believe this is part of his job description. That is how helpful he is. He sweetly helped her back to her bed (they had to use a hoya to lift her in and out of bed). Next, he helped make sure she was clean and comfortable. This meant a lot to us as we watched him truly care for our mother. This is just one example of his kindness. Joshua was truly a life saver when our mother was there. If we could rate Joshua alone, he would receive 5 stars. He truly was wonderful. The problem we had was that the nurses and aides were understaffed. Our mother was fortunate because we were able to take turns to stay with her. The week I stayed with her, hours would pass with no nurse or aide to check on her. Even when the nurse call light was on, it would take at least an hour for someone to come into her room. One morning she was throwing up for over an hour. The aide was made aware of it. She said she would let the nurse know. No one ever came in that day to address the problem. There were other problems as well. It is our belief, that more nurses and staff need to be hired, if they want their patients to receive better care.

You are part of a successful outcome, bringing good foods, company, and sunshine is key. Food here can be iffy unfortunately but you can call for something else. I recommend this facility, please stay on top of the physical therapy your person is receiving and encourage them to continue when they get back to their room. Thank you Belinda for helping our transition home easily, your support was truly appreciated.

Oh boy, have I got a story for you. I am a trail runner and ran a 60K trail race the last week of…read moreJanuary 2024. A week later, I could hardly walk. I saw my primary care physician who referred me to physical therapy. The physical therapist diagnosed me with a sciatic centralization injury. My pain went bilaterally down both of my hamstrings. In addition to the pain, I was experiencing numbness that resonated from my right glute down to the hamstring / mid-thigh. After 14 sessions of physical therapy, the pain in my hamstrings went away completely. The numbness, however, has remained a constant over the course of the last four months. I've been to physical therapy, two different chiropractors, an acupuncturist and a spinal specialist. All of them told me the numbness would go away on its own. Go back to your normal life, stop being dramatic and let the nerve entrapment go away on its own. After thousands of dollars in out of pocket costs and lots of frustration, I did a Google search for trigger point and neuro muscular therapeutic massage. And that's how I found Mya at Unwynd Restorative Massage. SOLD! I set-up an appt. on her self-explanatory website and waited patiently for the day I got to have some much needed treatment to this stupid nagging injury. And that day was today, friends! Unwynd Restorative Massage is conveniently located in Peoria right on 75th Ave smack in between Bell Rd. and Thunderbird Blvd. They're situated in a fair sized medical / business complex. There is plenty of ample parking. You're looking for "15262" on the outside of the building they're located in and you're going into the Building 400 front door. Suite 108 is located at the end of the hallway where your healing begins! Mya listened to me intently which is more than I can say for most of the other jokers who saw me She knew precisely the area that needed attention and she explained exactly how she was going to proceed. She was relentless in her pursuit to assist me and getting me back to feeling 100%. It was soooo nice to have a medical professional actually get her hands at the source of my injury and begin treating it, accordingly. It was miraculous to feel the increased blood flow to my hamstring and also it felt great to have her manipulate the tissue surrounding the nerve. Her vast amount of knowledge and the way in which she made me feel so comfortable was incredibly appreciative. We chatted like old friends and she never once stopped trying to help me with this injury. While the numbness did not subside after just one treatment as I suspected it would not have - I am confident I'm closer to getting back to 100% with Mya's assistance!! I canno thank her enough for her time, her knowledge and the willingness to assist me. No one else I saw gave me the time of day. Unwynd Restorative Massage proved it is possible to be a knowledgeable medical professional while going above and beyond to assist their patients. Thank you, Mya!!
