My husband and I got married at the Bembridge House in November 2021. We remember seeing photos of…read morethe property and feeling amazed, but the price of the location wasn't online at the time and we thought for sure that it was going to be way out of our price range. However, we wanted to go to see the location since it was so beautiful - even if we couldn't get married there, it would be a cool experience to get to see such a historical location. To our absolute surprise, we met with Anthony Barr and not only was the location affordable, he was willing to work with us on absolutely EVERYTHING on our list. With Anthony's help, we not only had a historic and gorgeous location (which included a bridal area and space for our whole party), but he helped us to find all of our vendors, negotiated with various vendors on our behalf at times, took care of our decor requests... I could go on. I honestly don't know how I would have managed the wedding procedure without the help Anthony gave, but we also just adored the Bembridge property. Picturesque, cozy - we are so grateful.

The Bembridge House is a hidden gem in Long Beach if you haven't visited , it's totally worth it. The only thing is that parking is very impacted in the area, I was lucky today to secure a parking spot. I was told by a very nice lady there will be a Halloween party here this year. It was great to be there to witness this momentous event. Here is a great video of the entire bridge bicycle and walking path: https://youtu.be/XbAcOHqhEdw Speakers included a representative from the United States Department of Transportation, Caltrans, the Congressional Representative from Long Beach, and many Long Beach City officials. Of course, the family of late Mark Bixby was there. Mr. Bixby was instrumental in getting this path built years ago when it was in the planning stages. Unfortunately, he subsequently died in a plan crash and the Bridge Path is named after him. 100's of cyclist road the path over the bridge for the 1st time and I was there to capture this in many photos posted here. I will remember this event for a lifetime. If you are in the area on bicycle or on foot--you owe it to yourself to walk or ride this incredible path, a true testament of modern engineering and design. There are 3 cutout lookout bench sitting spots along the way. Views are remarkable--the port, the ocean, and the downtown Long Beach all from high up. I am proud to be able to bring this listing to YELP so that others in years to come visit and pay respect to Mark Bixby. Path is open 5 AM to 9 PM everyday and has a separate walking and cycling path. *It's approximately 3 miles Round-Trip from the start at Ocean Blvd and Golden Lantern (diagonally across the street from the Long Beach Hilton Hotel)--NOT the location above suggested by Yelp. The direction location Yelp is using is the Long Beach City Headquarters a half-mile from the entrance to the path. It's not the most beautiful bridge that I have ever been on, but it does allow you to experience some of the Long Beach atmosphere and I have always liked Long Beach a lot. The next time I am in Long Beach I will definitely go back to the pathway again.

Not only did your city, the mayor, the council members do nothing to work with me, after a year of not returning calls, not taking any meetings in the Mayor's Office, they divided that my flowers are a problem. This is what I had done. I had taken a piece of land that was supposed to have a sidewalk put in. The city of Long Beach didn't put anything in. The businesses had been begging the city to put in a side walk because it had become an eyesore. People dumped used oil, paint and trash on this land regularly. The land was also infested with moles leaving holes and tunnels making it very dangerous to walk on the land because you regularly stepped to holes and twisting your ankle. The owners had even offered to pay for the sidewalk themselves. The city refused. So, I put in a park to clean up the toxic chemicals, as in eatable plants that are healthy for you and the City of Long Beach thinks this is a really bad idea.... Don't move here. Don't live here. The mayor and the city council aren't working in your interest. They only care about things that make them look good. God forbid, a homeless person be allowed to make your community better. And the park is installed at the corner of 14th Street and Harbor.
