Was told they would get back to me on the damage and that they would give me an estimate. I get a call a few days later saying that they need some gaskets, great. I bring them in and the owner Joe that's doing the job is there, I asked him some questions and he is talking to me like I'm an idiot so I felt extremely uncomfortable and left. A week later I'm told they are ready to be picked up. Keep in mind between this time they never told me how much it was going to be. I get there and discover that they replaced only two of the valves out of the 16 that I brought and left me with all of the old ones still installed yet they replaced all of the keepers. Why would you even remove the old valves and do that if you aren't going to replace them with the ones that I brought? On top of that, they didn't even do valve adjustments on either head or tighten the passenger side cam bolt at all. When asked why, the owner says that he was never told by his buddy that that was what I wanted and that it would be extra for that. I asked for a complete valve job??? Then comes the price, a thousand dollars for a half assed job that isn't even finished. I call to try and reason with Joe and he tells me that he's been doing this for longer than I've been born and that I don't know what I'm talking about. He says that a full valve job doesn't include the valve clearances and every time I tried to say something he would talk over me and become more irate and tell me how I have no experience in the business and that I'm pissing him off. He quickly said he isn't going to talk to me anymore and that he has to get back to work and hung up on me. Stay away from this shop at all costs, the guys that work there take advantage of people that don't know any better and treat you like dirt. I was so respectful and said how much I appreciated his work in the beginning only to be degraded and intimidated by him to pay a bill that would have been a 1/4 of the price elsewhere. These guys need to learn how to communicate with one another to avoid conflict like this and need a lesson on how to treat their customers. I don't care how long you've been in the business you should never talk down on someone for asking questions or feeling like they paid for a service that they didn't receive.

Also they had my engine for months and took them along time to finally finish it. So these are my only negatives. Now in codys defense reason why I still gave 5 stars, his shop is crazy busy when I went down there to pay him his phone almost never stopped ringing. The job he did was amazing and have been told by another machinists that his work is top notch. So when I finally received my engine and saw the pictures I was very pleased. Would I use Cody to build another engine I definitely would, but don't expect it to be done very fast. His price wasn't bad pretty much same at most rebuild places. Overall pretty happy. The shop owner who is a short older gentlemen with napoleon complex told me I had to pay it and I would be reimbursed on it... maybe tell your customers in the future in advance how much the charge is before doing the service! Also, confirmed I don't get reimbursed.
