My experience working with Lauren for an October trip to Tulum was full of inaccuracies beginning with not receiving my deposit, which had been made day of request on June 20, 2017 for $150. She then apologized for that mistake and asked for me to confirm that I received an itinerary from her which my response to her request was I did not get one so she forwarded the email that she thought originally was sent to me but was actually sent to another woman who is attending this excursion - a woman who's email and name don't even have the slightest resemblance to mine. The due date for our final payment was originally set for August 21st then jumped to August 13th so I asked for an extension (my mistake for asking verbally) and she offered the 20th I agreed but the next day I received an email saying the latest would be the 17th for my extension. In no way was this an organized/accurate experience nor did I feel like a valued customer so I expressed on August 3rd (17 days before my final payment was due) that I would not be joining the group for this excursion. Lauren responded right away confirming she received my notice but when I asked for when my refund would come to me - which per the cancellation policy 30 days after booking but before final payment is due would be a $75 penalty fee plus tour company penalties - she went radio silent. After two emails sent and a phone call today (8/7) she responded via email that no refund would be made because tour penalties were $75 as well. I would not recommend using this travel agency at all to anyone. read more

Several years ago a colleague of mine recommended About Going Places to help me plan an upcoming trip. I was NOT disappointed! Peter listened to the details of what I had in mind for my visit to Italy and took into consideration my budget as well. The travel details were planned seamlessly, and we made it to Rome without a hitch. A car was waiting on us upon our arrival to transport us to our hotel. The location of the hotel was fantastic, and the accommodations were exactly what we had in mind - clean, centrally located, friendly staff and excellent complimentary breakfast! Peter had arranged several tours for us which were also fantastic. Next we traveled to Florence, which was even more spectacular than Rome. Again, our connections were well planned, the hotel was great, and everything we could possibly want to see and/or do was within walking distance. Peter did such a fantastic job planning my winter trip to Italy that I have worked with him to plan yet another European vacation for this Christmas season. This time I will be visiting Vienna, Munich and Prague and couldn't be more exited! I'm sure that this trip will be just as enjoyable as the last thanks to Peter and About Going Places. I highly recommend using this agency if you are looking for a team that truly listens to your vacation ideas and is willing to work with your budget. I started working with Lauren almost 2 years ago when I started planing my wedding in Cancun Mexico. It was full of inaccurate information and bad attitude from her from the beginning, before Covid was ever a factor. By the end, it was significantly cheaper and EASIER to just book on the hotel website than to use her services. She was consistently difficult to get a hold of, and when she did answer it was take several times of asking her to do something directly before she would answer. As the bride, I had to hear everyone complaining about her for the duration of the vacation. I regret ever working with them. read more

I have used this agency before and Peter amazing! This time around not so much! This man dropped the ball too many time to count and the lack of communication, and the outrageous price for a four day stay in Punta Cana was asinine! I went to pay off the remaining balalnce of my trip only to find out it went up another $230 due to other people dropping out. Peter chose not to inform me of the increase. I found the same exact trip on another site plus got my own room ( group trip 4 people) for $589 cheaper than what he initially quoted us. We highly recommend About Going Places to anyone for all of their travel needs! We fist met Peter from AGP at a wedding/bridal expo show about a year before our wedding. We ended up booking Peter as our travel agent to book our honeymoon for us, and he did such an amazing job! Excellent communication both in person and over the phone and email. He gave us a lots of options for our honeymoon and helped us narrow down and pick out destination. He took care of the entire booking process all the way down to our travel document and final details. He had a ton of great recommendations and suggestions that made a big difference on our honeymoon. We had an amazing honeymoon and a great time in St. Lucia. We plan on using Peter at AGP in the future for all of our future trips! Highly recommend! read more

I read the response from the agency and it is truly a joke. I did NO research about China and relied solely on Sandye's recommendations. SHE SENT ME THERE IN THE RAINY SEASON WHICH IS INEXCUSABLE. Her other comments are false. Terrible follow thru and terrible customer service. Read the other on-line reviews about this company. I wish I had. My recommendations as a seasoned traveler who has used several other agencies for specialized trips in the past - find another agency. Horrible experience. read more
