They wanted to discharge my mom at a critical juncture in her dementia decline. After many interviews, we switched hospice agencies and now I understand what a good hospice organization is all about. Daisy and crew are pleasant but they don't know what they are doing. They operate under their own rules instead of following Medicare protocols, now they are being audited. They promised frequent visits from a Nurse Practitioner that rarely happened, except when it was time to recertify. The RN was not proactive in caring for my mom. She was in & out of the house in 15-minutes. She doesn't have the experience to explain how the decline in dementia patients works, or what we should expect or brace ourselves for. There wasn't much comforting, hand holding or moral support. They hadn't sent a bathing aid in five months. They did not educate us the way the current group does. It makes sense to work with a team that's near by, so they can visit and check on the patient more frequently. It was the first hospice agency I worked with so I had nothing to compare to; I appreciate the supplies and basic they provided but relieved I switched at this critical juncture in my mothers decline.

Fatima, thank you with all my heart for all your help and continued caring. Several other team members were directly involved and I wanted to take this time to thank them all. Belen Carrasco, facility social worker and Dr. Anousheh Ashouri, medical director whom helped with documentation of the on-goings of the situation. From my family and myself. Thank You Very Much For Everything. God Bless You

We had hospice with us for 1 whole month (until my father passed away). I will say that the staff…read moreas a whole was 5 star (amazing; respectful, kind, courteous). However, we had 1 staff member who came and decided she needed to take pictures of my incoherent fathers private parts. We did not sign any paperwork giving consent for that to be done either. My wife walked into my fathers room to the sight and sound of their staff member taking pictures on her personal phone of his naked private parts. My wife immediately told her to delete the pictures and to never do it again. I messaged the management about it and they apologized profusely & promised me the problem had been rectified and that it would never happen again. We never saw that staff member again either. Outside of that specific issue we had no other issues with any of the staff who cared for my father. The rest were amazing & caring. My other issue was when my father passed. We called and had to wait like 6+ hours until someone came to pick up his body. The real kicker was the staff member who came out to make sure my father had really passed. She was disturbingly more focused on making sure she got a count of all my fathers prescriptions that they had issued him. He's laying dead on the bed and she wants us to run Around the house and track down his medications. She could have cared less about the 20 other medications that he was issued by other doctors; she only cared about the meds that they issued (many of which are simple over the counter meds). She then proceeded to take forever individually counting all the medications and then she poured them into cat litter & mixed with water. Then she left the bag for us to dispose of. Biggest distasteful professionalism in my life that I've seen. My father just passed and I got to sit at a table while this staff member counts medications. Like for real! Horrible method of assessing when something is appropriate to do; timing! Outside of these 2 horrendous issues (of which, I have not sued them over for illegally taking pictures of an incapacitated mans private parts) - I will say that the Visiting Nurses who come to care for the Hospice Patient - they were 5 stars Hands down!!!

She was kind and caring. She did all she could to make my dad comfortable And support our family in those very difficult last few days. Noami was our healthcare aide who came and helped with the physical care of my dad. She was respectful and caring. She taught us how to move him and care for him when he could no longer care for himself. Remita also sent out George who is a volunteer that offers respite for caregivers. My dad really enjoyed George's company. After my dad passed, he called and comforted my mom and told her what a great guy my dad was. The social worker helped us prepare for my dad's death and encouraged us to make final arrangements in the days before he passed. I do wish she had a list of support/ grief services for my mom in the San Bernardino area. She only knew of a support group in Riverside. We are thankful that Remita helped us keep my dad out of the hospital or nursing facility. We are glad we were holding his hand as he took his last breath.
