I signed an offer to purchase a property and sent the purchase price in with the offer to the Real Estate Company. The paperwork was handed over to Ability Title to complete the closing in November. I never received a preliminary title policy, no closing documents to review or nothing. I was told in November the process would take 4-6 weeks. In January I called the Real Estate Company after I received information from a company who handles rentals of the unit I purchased. I was told at that time that it was closed and the deed recorded. The Realtor gave me a copy of the recorded deed but said the Juanita at Ability Title would not return her calls or emails regarding paperwork or final title committment. I was given the number for the Title Company and I left 3 messages for Juanita before someone gave me her email address. I emailed her 3-4 times and left another message and the only reply back I got was from someone in the office named Tanya that said they looked into my file and it was waiting for signatures. I emailed Juanita again to find out what signatures they were talking about. If the deed was recorded the signatures were complete. I also threatened to file a complaint and at that point, nobody would call me back or return emails. I am still wondering where my paperwork is for this transaction that the deed was recorded back in December for. I requested copies of all paperwork to this point, and got no response. The Real Estate Company also told me they got no response and have several buyers and sellers going through the same ordeal with this company and are ready to file lawsuits. At this point I know I own the unit, but have no idea if there were any liens, judgements, etc that attached to the deed because neither myself nor the Real Estate Company have ever gotten any paperwork from Juanita with Ability Title. read more
