As a 1st time home buyer, I wasn't sure what to expect. Peter and the folks at Ability we're terrific. I really don't know how else to explain it. They were able to get me the best rate possible when the market was going crazy and unpredictable. The foreclosure I bought had a little more paperwork than a normal home and the amount of time it takes to officially close was a bit longer I imagine. They were on top of it all the time, for well over 2 months!!The bank I was dealing with for the foreclosure seemed like they were playing a game and had surprise fees and paperwork all the time. I started feeling bad for the number of times I contacted Ability mort but they didn't mind and were more than helpful. I've never been to another mortgage company so I can't compare but there's no way anyone else could have put up with me and helped as much as they did. They're the best in the business. 15-16 years ago I purchased my first house when I was 21. I was extending myself with the house i choose so I shopped hard for my best deal from a Lender. I received 5-6 good faith estimates and turns out I wasted my time because Peter Dellane at Ability Mortgage Group was my 1st stop and best deal.. He had immediate answers to all questions/concerns, provided 1 list of things i needed to provide and that list never changed. On my 2nd house I still did my due diligence acquiring 3 estimates, and once again, he provided the best deal. PETER IS AN EXPERT IN HIS TRADE AND OBNOXIOUSLY THOROUGH so if settlement gets pushed, its more likely you didn't utilize his awesomeness and get a title co. refferall. This company is by far the best mortgage company in the Maryland/Virginia area. I received my mortgage with the lowest fees and rate anywhere. I shopped my mortgage a lot before locking in and what I found is that this mortgage broker has access to the best wholesale lenders, my mortgage went to Wells Fargo's wholesale division which is much less than if you get a mortgage thru a Wells Fargo retail office location. Not to mention lower than any bank, credit union, retail lender, or other mortgage broker. The service was fantastic as well. I have a banking backround and no what to look for when shopping for a mortgage. This is the company you will want to use more than once. read more

We've refinanced our home twice with Peter--October 2008, and again in February 2011. For this last refi, Peter found a government program letting us refi without an appraisal. That allowed us to refi for 15 years, cut our rate substantially, and avoid an actual current appraisal that would likely have required us to put up $50K or more to refi (which would have been impossible). It cost us far less than anywhere else we checked, and we were very happy with the ongoing communication and assistance we got from Peter for both our refinancings. What did I like about this company? Quick and clear responses on my emails and questions by phone. Short explanations if I needed them, no attempts to convince me. I knew quite well what I was looking for. Openly shared all information I asked. We worked as partners on my mortgage.
