We HAD a mouse problem. We went to another pest control company who did not resolve the problem. It seemed to us that the other company was simply trying to find ways to keep us as perpetual customers. Our problem only got worse. So we called around to a number of pest control companies and were lucky enough to get to speak with Brendan from this company. Brendan came out for a free assessment and a dedication and action plan to help rid us of our year plus problem. Brendan went way above and beyond in an effort to help us solve our issue. Where the previous exterminator found ways to say no to our requests and wanted only to sign us up to perpetual payment plans Brendan did more than we could possibly have hoped in winning the battle with mice for us. Abell Pest Control is a badly run, disorganized company that is completely ineffective in controling rodents. They respond quickly to the initial call, but that is it. The Calgary office and head office in Ontario have conflicting policies that result in the customer falling through the cracks. When I signed on for a monthly contract, the head office billed the full 12 months all at once, then complained when I asked to have it reversed, saying that the month to month arrangement doesn't exist (even though I had a contract in my hand stipulating the monthly amount). Then, head office stopped processing the monthly payments and sent a collection agency out - without once contacting me. In the midst of the chaos about billing, Abell utterly failed to control the rodents that caused the problem in the first place. If you want a headache and hassle in addition to the headache and hassle you already have with the pests that are plaguing you, retain Abell. If you need pest control, go elsewhere. Abell is a bad bet. read more

Terrible, experience! Price charged was double what was quoted. Spider Treatment lasted about 30 days. Took repeated calls to contact them (messages were not responded to) to discuss upgrading to a multi service package. Was told that upgrading was possible and that a technician would contact me to set up service call. Have never heard back. My neighbours use One Man and a Ladybug and are very pleased. Price was half what I paid and treatment is effective. read more

Terrible. We have been annual customers, but when the mice seemed to have gone, they stopped coming and so the mice came in again. Initially, the rep didn't even find the spots that the land lord ended up identifying and fixing. Now mice are back because no one has even been here to check in on us. They relied on us to book appointments which are supposed to be regularly scheduled visits. Shannon only came last minute when she could squeeze us in because she was in the area and if that last minute text didn't work, she failed to follow up and reschedule. What kind of company takes your money and then doesn't do the thing? I called three times this week looking to make an appointment and was told I would receive a call back 3 times and nothing. The woman on the phone was not interested in my feedback. I was given an email to write to and no response. I see a lot of 5 star ratings on here which might be for one-time solutions, but I am thoroughly disappointed with their so-called "service." read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. We enquires about pest control for our squirrel and centipede problems. The price was expensive and the quote misleading. We were told that they could guarantee us to be squirrel free. They never mentioned we would have to pay separate for a roofer to come and seal our roof. The guy set traps for squirrels and never caught one. We called and told we weren't happy with service and they didn't do as requested and we asked for a refund. They have told us numerous times that out refund will be processed in 5 days and after multiple weeks and phone calls we still have not received anything back. Absolutely awful experience. read more

If there is 0 star option I would give them that. Their service people give no notice. They just call and say they are in the area and need access right away. After I ask that they schedule another time as I am at work they said they'll cal back but don't. Then they do it again weeks later. So they never really do the service. Then they send me to collections because they sent the invoice to the wrong address. When I called in, Crystal on the phone took my payment, but when I tried talking to her about how they didn't really provide the service and they need to give people some notice she hung up on me. read more

I have used Abell for years. They have been throughout, on time and followed up when problems persisted. Issues managed include rodents and wasps over close to 9 years at two different homes in Calgary. Last year I used them to help trap a skunk. They left the bill with me. I forgot to pay the bill. Clearly my fault. I received no emails, phone calls or follow ups to remind me of the bill. Their collection policy is to send bills to CCC for payment and I started to receive daily calls from them. I paid Abell directly. When I mentioned to them they have a pretty short fuse on sending unpaid bills for collection (a terrible business practice unless every effort has been made to collect since they scalp a large chunk of the bill off the top for their service), Brittany, the person I spoke with on the phone completely ignored the comment and gave no indication at all that she had heard me. Anyway, this has prompted me to move to another service operator and I am now glad I did. ZAP pest control in Calgary has been just awesome. Too bad, I would happily continue to use Abell since they know what they are doing and are clean and professional. No one likes to be ignored and treated shabbily on the other end of that service though. read more

Abell is simply terrible. They don't answer their phones. When they do finally show up they don't do a proper job the first time. Then to top is all off when they say they will send someone to fix an oversight they made (ie. not seeing hundreds of ants in plain sight) they will take more than (still waiting) 8 days to fix it. read more

DON'T bother! First they don't return calls - that should have been my first clue. Then they never showed up for the booked appointment . No call to explain or to reschedule. Their web advertises "free estimates" but they quoted me $95 to have a look. Business must be so good they don't need the customers!!! You're better off with your pests than these guys!!! read more
