I have had many bad experiences in my lifetime but nothing has come close to the horrible experience I recently had with Jeff from Abel Gutters. Hired him to install new gutters last year and they put an ugly tube on one of my downspouts. Complained after install and owner insisted that's what he would've done if it were his home so we left it. Hated it so much that we called him a year later to fix it and he denied ever doing the work! He accused me of lying and that I had someone else install the hideous tube which couldn't be further from the truth. However he assured me he would still fix it and that he would call me back. Weeks go by and no call so I reach out again numerous and get the same response, "I'll call you back" but never does. He also promised to stop by numerous times and never did. After attempting for almost 2 months and being kept in limbo I finally had enough so I gave him a deadline or I was giving him a bad review. He called me back screaming, accusing me of lying, hung up on me and sent nasty texts. He then called back and finally admitted to installing the tube that he denied doing and said I requested it. Really? Another lie! After going back and forth he promised 3 times that he would finally stop by the next day so we both agreed that after 4pm was best for both of us. Unfortunately his promises were lies again because he never showed up! Therefore the next day I texted him for the last time saying to never call me or come on my property and of course he responds with another lie saying I was supposed to text him. This is NOT how people treat people especially in business. I am nice and patient until I've had enough and I had enough! Really dislike people that don't keep their word, lie, are rude and arrogant and then threaten to write about me because I said I was giving him a bad review. This guy is vindictive and I'm sure he'll try to twist this story around with more of his lies. Anyway, I am a person of integrity and have no reason to lie about this experience. I have proof of every call, nasty text and cash receipt and only speak the truth! I asked for a written warranty from Abel Gutter Service and was not able to be provided one upon request. With no warranty, I asked Abel Gutter Service to leave as they were literally on my property trying to start work. I recommend you request a warranty in advance in a hard copy. They left and we inquired with other gutter companies in the area and quickly found ones who provided their hard copy acceptable warranty for labor, parts, and number of years. The gutters they sold me to fix my drainage problem did not solve the problem. I still have run off and erosion beside my home. Now the gutters are falling off the house and the HOA is citing me to get them fixed. I've asked Mr. Abel repeatedly to come out and service what he sold me, and he refuses to do so without charging me hundreds of dollars. I own three businesses, including a local property management firm in Palm Beach County, and can honestly say it's RARE to have a vendor be such a disappointment. read more

I called yesterday to have a downspout removed due to a pool install and was hoping to get an appointment in the next two weeks. He showed up within the hour! Hired to replace a working, existing gutter system with a newer leaf guarded system. Redesigned and installed the system without fully disclosing expected changes. New system design is both ineffective and protruding downspout extensions are unsightly. When Mr. Able came to respond to my concerns about the install, he was rude and although he did as he was asked, I offended by his attitude. When rains came it became clear that the system he installed was insufficient to control the water flow. Overflow or backsplash at one end of the gutters blasted a deep hole in a landscaped area and the excessive outpouring of water at the oversized, unredirected, downspout at the other end, washed away all mulch in the other landscaped area. His website states he is A+ rated by BBB but I have not been able to verify that. My results from BBB indicate that he has not been certified. I trusted his website. It was a mistake. read more

50 ft of gutter and downspout did not last 10 mos, first it was "must have been full of leaves", nope. Then it was "your fascia must be rotten", would have been prevalent when installed originally, attempted repair after 3 weeks and left skylight gaps between drip edge and gutter, like not having any gutter at all. Don't respond to phone calls, email or texts. Now playing the avoid all communications and hoping we go away. Not going to happen! read more
