For those who live outside of NC and follow my reviews, in NC you have to buy your hard alcohol from a store controlled by the state. You cannot buy things like bourbon or vodka from a grocery store. The pricing is more controlled, but you are at the mercy of the distribution among the ABC stores by the local county distribution centers it seems. Overall it was good, but not great. I will continue my search for a better store.

We were greeted right away by the husband and wife owner who were happy to show us a round a little. Down the outer aisles were all wines, conveniently organized, while in the center were racks of beer for the beer fans. The owners had some excellent suggestions, and were able to help my wife to a wine she turned out liking a lot. That particular wine was one where the producer from Italy had been in the store recently for a tasting and was bale to tell us some about the winery which was pretty neat. They had a decent selection and had a good range of low end up to the more pricey wines. Overall, a very nice experience and decent wine shop. Will certainly keep an eye out for tastings they may have in the future to stop back in!

Despite having to work New Years Eve day, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They also had a High Point police officer at the door ensuring no issues, I'm not clear if that's a daily thing, or just during busier times of the year. They carry a good selection of alcohol, in many cases, even offering several brands for more common items like vodka, whiskey, and bourbon. They don't sell any beer at the ABC store, and I don't frequent them though to be able to say if any do. But they cart the hard stuff, some mixers and a very small selection of snacks.

I am in High Point for the furniture market, I live in Texas…read more We come to HP twice a year and we shop here a lot, mainly because it's the only liquor store near by. The group that I travel with is about 25 people total. Last week my friend and I went to buy a few things and the employee was very pushy for us to buy drink mixers, which we absolutely hate. We politely declined to buy them, paid for our stuff and left. Tonight we go again and he AGAIN tried to push us to buy nasty drink mixers, we politely declined AGAIN (same guy) and when it was time to pay for our 4 bottles of different liquors (don't judge) he said he couldn't sell to us because we had a TEXAS ID....REALLY?? REALLY??? WTF is that about? So if our ID is issued in Texas, somehow we can't buy liquor? That's weird, because he did last week, and every bar in town has had no problem with our Texas IDs. Funny rule for a liquor store in a town where 35,000 [eople come from all over the world for the furniture market. Also, my biggest problem was the mean and almost insulting way he said it. He was just a huge jerk. I would understand if that actually was the law and he explained it nicely, but it's like he got satisfaction telling us no. I seriously don't know what his problem is, but we are both pretty angry and we will just drive a few extra miles to avoid that total douche bag. (White male, about 40 years old) Say good bye to my business and the business of my 24 co-workers!

Our meal began with a nice glass of the house cab - we knew it would be good since the walls are lined in bottles of the elixir. Our first appetizer was the Applewood Bacon Wrapped Medjool Dates Stuffed with Gorgonzola Cheese and Topped with a Pesto & Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. They were so savory! We followed that with the Lump Crab Cakes and Jumbo Shrimp - simply fabulous! For the main course, we split the Seared Ahi Tina Fresh (fresh sliced ginger, wasabi and an awesome wasabi sauce) with Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. Yes, the photo provided is a half-portion. It was so fresh and the asparagus was a nice complement. For dessert, we enjoyed a Cappuccino and the Limoncello Torte with Amaretto Cream. The atmosphere was comfortable and we enjoyed every delectable bite. This is a great place for a top-notch meal and to celebrate any occasion worthy of the supreme meal. We highly recommend Wine Sellars Bistro.
