We were not real hungry so ordered from the appetizer menu. Tomato bisque, smoked trout dip with crackers, Roasted beet salad and a glass of sangria. The tomato basil bisque was absolute "must try" good. The smoked trout was much to salty, maybe just my taste buds. The roasted beet salad was also good with fresh greens and an interesting assortment of almonds. But the beets were not roasted. Fresh beets are full of sugar and when halved or quartered then roasted, the sugar caramelizes and gives a unique flavor to the beets. These beets had no special flavor, they were from a can and quartered. Now the really bad, especially as they are a winery. I like sangria, it's a refreshing cool summer drink, composed of fresh fruit (apples, pears, plums, grapes and a healthy portion of citrus) and wine that is left to marinate. I watched the bartender add some 1/4inch pieces of green apples to a glass, fill with ice cubes and add wine. That is not sangria, that is watered down wine with an apple garnish. Excellent Server - Made great recommendations and knew the menu well. Very attentive. Food? Well both good and bad. Kids selection - minimal. Sliders or pasta. The sliders came out like hockey pucks. Pasta sauce was bland. Cocktails - Drinks here are VERY over-priced and how they have them structured and priced in the menu is just bizarre. Main meals were just OK. With exception was the trout dishes. These were delicious. Wait times - It took near 90 minutes to get our food from time of order. And the place was not that busy while we were there. They even had a lot of very nice selections of vegan friendly convenience foods. I did purchase the non dairy whipped cream, 2 different vegan ready burgers and a bag of vegan meatballs. I would like to see a brand of non dairy yogurt as I didn't see any, but maybe there was. The lines were going fairly smoothly and I had all my groceries separated already in their reusable grocery bags ( which as a grand opening gift, you receive 2). The cashier was very apprehensive that I had just placed the bags full on the conveyor belt instead of dumping all the items. I always have an extra bag empty and ready to begin the bagging process on the end but she was anxious. I thought it went well and she did a good job but she asked me to next time take all the items out and place them on the conveyor belt! Honestly, I am hoping the store video will show her how smoothly that went because at a bag it yourself grocery and even a regular grocery store it goes so much smoother. That's my only concern. Great store, good prices and good service. Maybe add 2-3 lanes of checkers for those of us who bulk shop and live a distance away. As I am thinking about the shopping cart, you need a quarter to activate it. And there are many self checkouts as opposed to the one checker. Guessing they really would prefer small amounts to be purchased and not large orders.
