The condition of the room we were in was ok; the lack of carpeting was a change but I didn't mind…read moresince I wear sandals in the room regardless. I don't know if the rooms were enhanced fairly recently or not but they may still seem minimalist to those used to staying at one of the chains. The beds were fine and comfortable; 2 pillows per person was sufficient and I didn't have any trouble sleeping. (Mattresses can sometimes be an issue for me.) There is also A/C for the room. The website has a list of amenities for the rooms, rather standard but no ironing board/iron. Bath/shower and toilet area was rather tight and narrow, especially the area for sitting as the toilet paper holder was close to the toilet and can get in the way of comfortable sitting. There weren't any issues with the state or cleanliness of the area. I think they said they usually service the room every two or three days but will change towels daily. Also, I don't think there is a "do not disturb" door tag so if you are staying more than one night and would like not to be disturbed by housekeeping in the morning just let the front desk know. It looks like it is owned by locals; at the minimum it is operated by locals. Great service, friendly and very helpful and responsive to issues so don't hesitate to bring any concerns up to the front desk. They are also very accommodating with late check-out requests if you ask ahead of time! Given the pice range for the rooms, the motel's proximity to the state park, and the fact that it is operated by locals proud of hospitality the motel should definitely be an option to consider if you are planning to be in the area.

But yesterday shows that they really care about their customers. We went in a few days ago and placed a balloon order for our 2 year old sons birthday party. When we went to pick up the balloons yesterday, one of the Mylar balloons had a small leak and was the very last one that they had. They were so nice enough to let us pick out another balloon at no charge. They may not have the selection as the big party retailer but they definitely have their customers first!
