This store is super convenient to all of the residents in Palencia. Drew, the owner, is always a joy to talk with about different types of liquors or wines. We also have good discussions on the different vintage cocktails that my husband and I like to make. Drew is really good about ordering things that customers are interested in. He keeps a very clean and organized store.The prices are actually pretty decent. He could probably raise them and nobody would complain much because the store really is more convenient than traveling all the way into Saint Augustine or Jacksonville. But I would not know that unless they mentioned it. Anyway I was given a price of $11.99 which was a good price. Well I get to the store. I ask a guy who works there about the wine I was looking for and instead of saying "I don't know the answer." he gives me the wrong answer. I almost start heading back to downtown to the winery but the traffic was crazy. So I pull over and look up the wine online. The guy should have said, "I don't know." instead of giving me bad information. So I paid for the wine which ended up being $1 more than I was quoted but the guy at the register was also cranky because I was so frustrated with the entire situation of stupid. Well I did calm down but this is the last time I will ever go back there. I would rather go to Walmart which I absolutely dislike and I would never spend a nickel at Broudy's because he could give two tosses about St Augustine except for all the money he will be making. So if I really need alcohol or wine there is a drive in store by the Winn Dixie which is totally out of my way but they might have more intelligent and nicer staff.

First time here. I'm not really a "regular" at any liquor store, but there are two other shops I…read morego to when stocking up the bar. The folks in these stores smile and greet you when you walk in. Ask if they can help you find things. Guide you to the correct register when you're ready to check out. And say "Thank you! Have a great day!" as they make sure you've got your box or bags all together and hooked around your hands to carry out to your car. I happened to be near this store one morning and decided it was convenient enough to drop in. The first thing I noticed was the lack of sales and specials. I won't pretend I did anything like a comprehensive price comparison, but I can "spot check" a couple of prices that happened to be fresh on my mind. One thing I got the previous week at another store was a BOGO bourbon for $30. So basically $15 a bottle. Fantastic price. But here, their normal price was $35. That immediately made me worry that I was paying an extra $5 or more for each item, so I really limited myself to just the necessities, instead of a shopping spree to try out a few new brands or bottlings. The shelves took a while to figure out. They had "American Whiskey" separate from "Bourbon," which threw me off for a while. And I think some of the sections wrap around to the other side of the shelves, without the area being labeled. So it's easy to miss things when hunting around. Then finally, checking out was an experience. They had two people working there on a slow morning. One was focused on the drive through. The other was stocking something, so did nothing to direct me to the right register. I just strolled back and forth trying to figure out where to put my things. Then the card reader on that register seemed broken. Just blank. So I didn't swipe like she expected. Just an awkward silence. So I asked, "what next?" so she would wake up and realize something was off. She hit a few keys on the register. Mumbled something about trying again. But it was still blank and I'm not about to swipe at a terminal with no idea how much I'm swiping for. Then I guess she sent the transaction to another register and mumbled something else to let me know. So I strolled back and forth trying to figure out which card terminal was prompting me for my card. I swiped two registers over, finally closing out the process, and she was still standing there at the first register with my 2 bottles and bags expecting me to walk back and retrieve them. No "sorry about that" or "here, let me hand these to you," or "thanks, have a great day!" Maybe a petty thing to point out. But overall, with my concern about prices, finding things, bad communication, and sleepy customer service, there's truly no reason why I'd ever pass a dozen other liquor stores to get to this one again. I'd rather go to the ones where people yell "Norm!" when I walk in, and make me feel special.

I always appreciate a convenient one-two punch and noticing the liquor store after walking out of Publix was exactly what we needed (I was midway to opening Yelp to find the nearest liquor store to stock our Airbnb for our beach trip). This shop is small, but packs everything you'd need for a weekend of fun. They have liquor of every variety (excluding rare stuff, they focus on the big names) as well as mixers, ice, plastic cups, etc. It met our needs and the location could not be better for a quick liquor run (parking right out front).

The cash register furthest from the front door is cash only. Browse the entire store there are sale items everywhere. Ordering online, saves time and ensures your items are in stock. Plenty of parking close to the entrance. I'm in the area for a little over a week and it's likely I'll return based on the prices, customer service, selection and depending on who's drinking my boozes at the campground...

I work close to shores so I'll stop in to see what they have and ask what's good, tell them what my husband likes and see what they recommend. They never pull some $400 bottle down and say oh here buy this and take advantage of my ignorance. I went in today and the same older man (I don't know his name but he's older with white hair) told me about their new store pick and said it was really good. I asked about another bottle and he gave me some info on that one too. I love how they never try to pressure me, they are very helpful and honest. I got the store pick and now my husband is happy! I am the best wife ever! I also got a friend a bottle of the walking dead bourbon because it's zombies, and zombies are awesome (also I bought my husband a bottle and he said it's pretty good!)
