Absolutely amazing school. I had a terrible experience with another driving school and subsequently failed my test twice. I was super nervous to start back up again. I went to their Highlandtown location which was closest to me. Ingrid was a great coach that eased my anxiety and was super patient and trusting. I was with her the most. Elliot was a chill coach, I had him once and he allowed me to just get the practice I needed the day before the test. Robin was a great escort for the day of as well. I finally passed with ease. ABC Driving School - Driving Schools Near Me - Essex, Maryland

I had driving school over 3 years ago. I don't remember her name but she was a really cool teacher. When I renewed my permit, I was able to start my practices with Mr. Earl. He is a wonderful instructor and was with me for the 3 drive times, a few private lessons, and my actual test (I passed!) If you want an instructor who will go the extra mile to work with you where you are at in terms of driving ability, Mr. Earl is your guy. I had no car and no one willing to take me out to drive and Mr. Earl was very patient with me. I will say that there was a hiccup and I wasn't able to take my test in October because I wasn't on the list. I was told I was good to go but when I got to the MVA, I was told I couldn't take it. I think the only system that should change is that if you are renting an ABC car for your test (like I did) the driving school should both schedule your test at the MVA and coordinate with their schedule. It only makes sense because ABC needs to coordinate with your preferred drivers schedule, as well as the MVA's schedule online. I worked it out with the owner and was able to take it last week without having to pay again for the car. Other than that, I'm walking away with my provisionals forever grateful to ABC and especially Mr. Earl! That man is awesome! read more

I'm now halfway through the class , I decided to take the weekend classes and the instructor is great . His name is Earl and he's not your boring teacher type , he makes the class fun and informative and always answers questions without making people feel stupid. The location of the weekend class is in middle river and it's this small room with a not so lovely smell but they do try to cover it ( take your allergy meds lol ) it's between two stores so I'm sure it's a mix of those businesses and thin walls . Overall if it wasn't for the warmer smelly room this would be a 5/5 for me . They do have a fast lane option that bumps you to the top of the driving list rather than you waiting the 5 weeks after you've passed the class . They're really great about payment plans also but you can't do the drive time until you're paid in full . I really do recommend taking Earl's class , he tells you everything you need to know and doesn't just bombard you with confusing things that you don't need . Driving school is expensive to begin with and very tedious, HOWEVER! the instructors here a phenomenal! They really want everyone to pass and are so helpful and there for you. I was highly satisfied when I went here for my 2 1/2 weeks of driving school. My 3 hrs one on one driving with the instructor was great. They really prepare you well for your driving test and show you the ropes! Definitely go! read more

First I must say this is the most unprofessional place I have ever come across. I signed up for private lessons with this establishment needless to say I was unable to get the same instructor when I need classes. As a result I had to sign up with someone else who did not have a clue about the progress I made so far. I made the appointment through Essex office. The day before my schedule appointment the office called me stating that they noticed that I had not paid and asked if I would pay now. I explained that I was on the road and I would make payment online when I returned home. I stepped in my house at 530 the phone rang it was ABC stating I did not pay. Several times I stated to the person on the phone to cancel me if you are going to harass me for payment. I stated that I had just got in. She then replied that she would give me 5-15 mins so I could make payment. I made the payment and did not get a receipt. I decided to call her back. I asked if she had seen the payment . She said no. She said let me login to the website after doing so she affirm payment. I asked for a receipt. She said why do u need a receipt. My response, so that u won't say I did not pay. The next day I realised that I was going to be late for my appointment due to the bus not showing up. I called the office 20 times eventually they answered and put me on hold for a good 20 mins. I explained what happen and was transferred to 3 different ppl one of which was the manager. I was told I could get one hr after paying for 2 hrs and I had to pay and additional 25.00. I was livid. Not even a credit for the hr that I missed plus and additional 50.00 if I cancelled. On top of that the manager called me a liar when I told him that I told his staff to cancel me the following day. He stated I believe my staff and did not listen to A word I said. Frankly, I believe this establishment is a scam. Money don't grow on trees. I work hard for mine. To call someone a liar without establishing the facts is down right rude. It's obvious that customers need to have recording devices in order for someone to believe what they are saying. I will give this place 10 stars if I could! I went to this driving school almost 2 years ago and I apologize that I'm just getting around to reviewing this school but I just passed it while driving! From the class instructors to the driving teachers these people were DETERMINED to make sure I passed this class! They cared about ME! I failed the written test the first time and the next day I came back to take it again and I passed! I had an Indian Driving instructor and I can't remember his name for the life of me but he was the absolute BEST! I was scared sh*tless to parallel park and he was so kind and patient with me. In just three days of attending the program i am more confused and irritated than i can remember being. the teachers are ignorant and arrogant. the class takes 15 mins to start and when it does it moves extremely slow at first. copy a few words for 5 mins than 5 more words for 10 mins this time while the teacher has side coversations with her students. than when the videos play and you can learn the information flys by too quickly to be understood. the teacher could not remember and therefore did not teach us the meaning of one dashboard symbol, nor the meaning of orange and red dash light such as check engine. the use of vulgar language is not only allowed but shared by the teacher. the amount of side chatter is staggering. the class is mostly older teens who seem to want to socialize more than listen, or allow the few students who want to learn to actually focus or concentrate. bring this to the attention of the teacher does nothing. politely asking them to be quiet results in a scene in which i am threatened to be thrown out. it is impossible to focus and the staff does nothing i really really regret coming here and will be promptly switching schools. all in all... STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM ABC DRIVING SCHOOL AS POSSIBLE!! spend a little more 25, or 50 bucks and get a quality education. read more
