Ever popular supermarket, right in the midst of the town's shopping hub. If you plan on staying for a while, it's worth signing-up for one of their 'fidelity' cards (no fee) which will entitle you to featured items (monthly and weekly) at significant discounts.
Most of the renowned and best-known Italian brands are stocked here. The deli counter has helpful staff, who remain relatively patient while you try to make your choice from some (potentially) unfamiliar items. Even bread is sold freshly sliced and by weight - I grew to love their unsalted rustic, ciabatta-style loaf (much tastier and more versatile than you might imagine). There is an amazing choice of Ricotta (prepared from different milks) and plenty more to encourage you to become an adventurous foodie.
There is also a small, useful choice of household items available. However, step just outside and plenty more can be found - downstairs (using the separate entrance) - along with a wider range of toiletries, crockery, books, clothing (not much to get excited about in the fashion stakes) and miscellaneous sundries (mostly house-orientated). read more
