The bottom floor has the customer service desks so it looks well organised and uncluttered. I have walked into a nice, calm and quiet building many times thinking I'd get seen quickly, only to find out the queue for the tills stretches to the door upstairs! Despite this the staff are friendly and helpful and have good product knowledge.

There are always long queues, they never seem to have all the counters open, never any pens. You can queue in a separate place to talk to advisor about loans and things but it is an awful set up. Everyone waiting in the queue can hear what you are talking about. The staff are rude and I feel like I am interrupting their terribly important day. The managers are worse. In my opinion this Lloyds Tsb epitomises the kind of impersonal, banking that seems to be taking over in this day and age. I would go to the Mutley branch any day.

The problem with this, as I've found out,is you often need to visit both queues as they do different things and wont overlap roles even though they see you have been queuing for ages already. I was able to move money from one account to another but had to go to the other desk to close the second account! Despite this I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful (the layout is not their fault) and the interior is light and spacious.

The nationwide are a really good bank, not only are they helpful but the services are brilliant. They are well catered and they review your account quite reguarly. I find that the store sometimes gets a little busy, but I just go in when they are not so busy. Overall I would recommend the nationwide. They are friendly, helpful and have always been a good bank for me, they also have free withdrawals abroad which is brill!

Only about four actual service desks, but i have only ever seen two manned, although frustratingly there always seems to be a lot of people behind there just, well i dont know what they do, but definetely not serving. As per most banks this is very busy around lunch times, i have waited upto 20 minutes before. But outside these hours it generally seems ok. cant really comment about staff - never seen the same face more than the one time

On the whole the staff are very friendly and helpful although they are a bit stretched as staffing seems to be an issue as in most banks these days. This branch has several cash machines both inside the building and on the outer walls and has a couple that also take in credits and bill payments so it isn't always necessary to queue, unless you so desire!

For anything other than normal banking activities (eg if you want to open a savings account ) you need to see the personal banker rather than the normal cash tills which is appointment only. There are about 3 cash tills and Ive rarely seen much of a queue here so ideal if you want to pay cheques in quickly. Parking is free in the nearby large car park which is only a couple of minutes walk away.
