Abba is a wonderful organization providing women with free ultrasounds and pregnancy screenings. They do a lot more than that, but those were the services provided to me. They made me feel so safe and cared for. At no point did I feel pressured in anyway to do anything or feel anything. They are a faith based organization and they asked to pray with/for me at the of the end of the appointment. I thought it was wonderful as I can use all the goodness I can get. If you are looking for a resource to help put your mind at ease, these wonderful people will be there for you. It's easy to make an appointment and I only waited 5 minutes to see the nurse. This is a crisis pregnancy center which means they do NOT provide abortion services. What they do provide is inaccurate information about abortion procedures, and implicit shame-based so-called "healing." I do NOT recommend this place as they've broke the laws of ADA and HIPAA. I searched online resources for pregnancy and found this place thinking it would be a safe haven for me. Upon arriving, it was nice and staffs were kind, had my first pregnancy confirmation and ultrasound so I thought nothing could go wrong, made few more appointments with them (like maybe 2-3 more appointments before I cut them off and switched to a different provider). Now at the time, their website never mentions any faith related and they would repeatedly try to "pray" and pressure their faith which made me extremely uncomfortable. I'm deaf and was having my first pregnancy. And I specifically told them that I am Deaf and would need a certified ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter to which they said they would find me one, I even suggested them some agencies that I knew would be the best. And on the day of the appointment for another ultrasound, I walked into the room and had noticed an older woman who was reading an ASL book and I sat down next to this woman and I remembered thinking "Huh, strange. Why would a certified ASL interpreter needs to read a book based on ASL?" but thought nothing more of it and decided to see how it unfolds. Further into the appointment, I realized this woman was not even certified and isn't fluent in ASL because she was speaking absolute gibberish and made up gestures. I didn't say nothing of it, not wanting to assume. Even though I did not understand this woman, I tried my best to follow through and hoped for the best. After the appointment had ended, I went home and my guts were in knots, I felt that something was off. So I texted their number telling them that the woman was not fluent in ASL and I asked them where they even find this woman, let it alone even hire her to "interpret" to which they said the woman was just a damn VOLUNTEER from a goddamn church. I brought up the ADA law which specifically states that any companies (it doesn't matter if you're a non-profit or not, you are LEGALLY required to hire a CERTIFIED interpreter). They're absolutely wrong in this situation and I am so angry with them for even considering a goddamn stranger, I never consent to a stranger to know my private life, let it alone even know about my pregnancy. Therefore, they've broke laws and made me felt extremely violated. read more
