I decided to try out Abba as it's right near my workplace (so very convenient!), and I wasn't very happy with Adrian Brien last time I had a service.
Before I came here, I had been warned by work colleagues that they tend to do what they need to do on the car before really checking with the customer. Since I have a debit card only, I wanted to get an idea of what I would be spending before booking my car in. I made it very clear with Shaun (who I think is the owner) that I have a limited budget for a service only, but anything else that needs doing on the car can be noted down and I will deal with it when I can afford it. True to his word, he gave me a list (my car is getting on, and there were a few things that should have been replaced ages ago - woops!!), and I will be dealing with those in the near future.
I prefer supporting local businesses rather than franchises, so this is great for me. Also, once I established the costing process/payment plan, I found it worked for me (others may have to be a bit firm about how much they can afford, unless they don't mind paying a lot up front).
They also service new vehicles under warranty, so I will probably be taking advantage of this when (eventually) buying a new car ;) read more
