My uncle recently suffered a stroke and now has significant mobility and communication challenges. We visited Abba Eyecare to update his eyeglass prescription, and the level of compassion and customer service we received was truly exceptional. Rather than requiring him to come inside, the staff brought a selection of eyeglass frames out to our car, helped him choose a pair, and even measured and fitted him for his glasses while he remained comfortably seated in the vehicle. Because he is currently hospitalized in Gunnison and we will no longer be in town when the glasses are ready, they also offered to personally deliver them to the hospital. In a world where genuine customer service seems increasingly rare, the staff at Abba Eyecare went far beyond what anyone would expect. Their kindness, flexibility, and willingness to help during an incredibly difficult time meant more to our family than words can express. This is what outstanding patient care looks like. read more

I walked in 10 minutes late to my appointment, that's my bad, but the policy is 10 minutes. The woman behind the desk left me waiting while she finished a phone call, and by the time she was finished it was too late for me to attend my appointment. She let me know of the situation extremely bluntly. I had been waiting months for this appointment. I was visibly disappointed and she said she would go check with the doctor, she got up and walked away shaking her head. So rude. When she came back she asked if I wanted to reschedule and I said no thank you, I was upset and needed to regulate before creating a new appointment. She proceeded to start offering me other dates and times and I reminded her that I had said no thank you and it felt like she wasn't respecting my words. The doctor that used to be here was amazing, idk about the new guy, but this honestly sucked and this woman was extremely rude. I wish we lived somewhere with more options so I didn't have to come back. ALSO- I made the 10 minute policy and waited 3 minutes while she finished her call and was too late because of her call... Beyond the frustration of this interaction and not being able to attend my appointment, the way this woman treated me was extremely unprofessional and she is clearly in need of further training. read more

Life Savers with a smile on their faces!!! I was skiing with the family, in Crested Butte. over the course of the week, I was experiencing increasing corneal abrasion pain...Traveled to Gunnison, without an appointment (which is another story) and the front staff were amazing!! Understood our situation & got us right in to see the doc!! The doctor was absolutely invaluable with a plethora of information!!! Applied the necessary eye band-aide contact and we were in and out!!! Entered with the most excruciating pain and left feeling like (almost) new!!! read more

This place is fantastic! It was the first time I knew why they were doing all that they were because they told me all along the way. I wasn't upsold and the frames they helped me select matched my face perfectly! read more

I was on a road trip, driving through Gunnison. I needed a contact badly, because I had lost my contact that morning. My Optometrist was 1000 miles away. I called ABBA to see if I could have an Air Optics sample. They were more than happy to help me. All they needed was for my Optometrist to fax my prescription to them, for legal purposes. When I arrived at their eye care office, they had received my subscription, and were willing to give me several samples. They were so pleasant and kind and understood my emergency. I think that ABBA is a very professional Eye Care office. If I lived the Gunnison, I would certainly go there for my eye care. Vicki Vyenielo read more

Kind of a random review as I have never written a non food or drink review but when you get an awesome service I think it is important to recognize and share, as a small business owner I know how much it means, so. Abba eye care gave me the best exam I have ever had and the receptionist are really sweet. If in need of an eye exam in the Gunnison county, go to Abba. read more

I call to ask if they have air optix night and day, on hand because I have my prescription in hand and need to buy contacts. The woman says "yes, as long as you have your prescription with you, we can help you." I get there the next day and she says one box is 72 dollars and they'd have to order them. That's 20 more dollars than ANYWHERE else they're sold. She also shows me this price comparison sheet and says that they are only a few bucks less through 1800contacts. That's a bold faced lie because I order through them primarily. So I know exactly how much they are. I just didn't want to wait for them in the mail, hens why I drove over to Abba ready to purchase. I don't appreciate the lies, or the price hike. This is an instance where supporting the mom and pop is NOT encouraged. I don't like liars or people who try to bait and switch by telling me one thing and it being different once I arrive. read more

We were traveling from out of town, and they were able to get my husband in for an emergency visit. Very understanding and very friendly.

While doing some work around our property near Gunnison, my wife got a foreign object in her eye. After suffering through a restless night and several attempts to extract the object ourselves, my son suggested Dr. Robbins at the Gunnison Abba Eye Care.We drove to town and arrived at 8:20, about 10 minutes before they opened. After some initial discussion about scheduling an appointment, they could see my wife's anguish and took her in right away. Dr. Robbins was very professional and friendly and within a few minutes fished out the offending piece of metal, cleaned up some scratches and sent her prescriptions to a nearby pharmacy. We can't say thank you enough to Dr. Robbins and his caring staff's quick response to my wife's predicament. read more
