So I ran into this place online while looking for a p10F slide since mine wasn't optics ready and milling can takes months from jagger so I opted to buy a slide from them. When I hit buy button it said we will contact you when payment has gone through then I noticed the shipment fee was like 8 bucks so I thought ahh fk this is going to take longer than getting it milled. I've only been here a few times, but this is a nice little gem tucked into the heart of Poway. The owner and operator Alex is a very nice person and takes a genuine interest in his business as well as his customers. Although, my transactions thus far have been limited, I look forward to future business with him. I've dropped by for parts before as well as minor gunsmithing jobs, but my most recent experience was cerakoting an old Sig P228 slide, barrel and breech block. Alex did a great job on the application and the graphite black he used matches the factory black frame perfectly. Additionally, he got it done within the quoted timeframe and at a cost that I felt to be very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend friends to drop by AB Prototype for their shooting needs. Alex went above and beyond to help me out after I had bought a slide that had previously been worked on by AB Prototype, which had a holosun footprint optic cut, however the cut was so precise for the holosun, that my trijicon SRO (with the same footprint) didn't fit. I reached out to AB Prototype, and Alex had me taken care of in LESS THAN A WEEK. Far faster than most shops taking 5-8 weeks.
