[[HIGHLIGHT]]Our dryer stopped heating and it was on the SuperBowl that I reached out to Fidelity to book a repair service through the home warranty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sometimes you don't know what you're going to get, but given that AB Appliance was assigned and was a local company I was a bit thrilled. They showed up on the very next day, identified the issue and then ordered the parts. AB Appliance then needs to submit a request to the warranty company to ensure the parts are covered and then have the warranty company order them. The parts are shipped to AB Appliance directly so there is not a worry of them coming to the homeowner and potentially becoming lost. The parts did take a little more than a week to get but once received AB Appliance scheduled an immediate follow up to repair the dryer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Yauhen came out and took his time to repair the dryer but was also here the 1st time and explained the entire process to me to make me feel comfortable with the process.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He also recommended having te dryer cleaned internally which we did have done since we bought this house over 5 years ago and not sure what the inside looked like with lint. Appreciate the good service and highly recommend if you need to have a dryer fixed. read more

This review is for the Irvine location, not San Clemente although the main location is in San Clemente. Save yourself time, money and aggravation and find another company. Extremely unprofessional. I was provided this vendor by my home warranty company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tech, Dimitri, showed up at my house wearing shorts, t-shirt with no name, and never introduced himself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fortunately I was expecting him so I knew he was from AB. He came in and I explained what happened with the washer. He found the error codes telling what the issue was and that it needed a new door lock and main board. He said either AB will order the parts or Fidelity. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked, how do you decide. He brushed it off and said they'll figure it out. I asked if he had to contact Fidelity to find out. He then asked me, who's the tech here? Rude![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was just trying to understand the process and get the information I needed. I told him I would call Fidelity and let them know what the diagnosis was. He said do what you want. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told by Fidelity that Fidelity would order the parts and send to AB. After 1.5 weeks I called Fidelity to inquire on the status. They called AB and was told that they had the parts. Hmmmm, ok! Then why didn't you call to schedule.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I got a text from the tech to schedule the repair which would be 5 days out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The evening before the repair he texted me at 7:30pm to say and I quote, "just making sure you have provided access by removing washer from the pan".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I said don't you do this. He said no. I said you're texting me 7:30pm the night before you're coming!!! He said I would have to get movers or a handyman to remove the washer and that he was canceling the appointment until I could get the washer out of the closet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE since he had several opportunities to tell me this before the night before.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called Fidelity and told them to cancel the service, cash me out and I'll find my own company to repair it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I called another company who had great 5-star reviews. Told the guy what was wrong and he said they could come out the next morning at 11. They came prepared with the parts and DID NOT, I repeat, DID NOT need to access the back of the washer. They simply removed the top and replaced the parts from there. Such a waste of time and money. I got rid of Fidelity and AB Appliance. read more

While I am grateful my washer drains again and the service part of the call was fine. Dimitri was on time and service was same day, my overall disappointment came after he left when I searched the cost of the washer lid switch compared to the total price I was charged. I asked him what the cost of the part was to which he replied $40. Prior to calling for assistance, I had done some troubleshooting and replaced the washer timer on my Kenmore. It didn't fix the issue so after a time, I reached out to AB App. based on good reviews. I likely could have replaced the washer lid switch on my own, but had not gotten that far in my research of the issue. (busy mom, job etc.) The part costs less than $20 if you purchase online via Amazon or the like, and the service call I was quoted was to be $80. I was told my total was $179 (with a discount), but being so grateful, I suggested $200. So, yes, good service as far as repair, but the markup was egregious. The time spent to do the work was less than 30 minutes. Lesson learned for sure. read more

This company was dispatched out to my home from my home warranty company. There were a few things wrong with my interaction(s). My first call to them Dimitri answered and he wouldn't help me. Told me the office would be calling me. Okay... so I waited. I then got a text saying call this number to schedule an appointment. So yes, I called and long behold it was Dimitri's phone and once again he said the office will be calling me. Then when the time came for them to actually come. I had my mom there as I had to go to work. When I explained what was wrong with it and what I thought may be the problem he said okay. After we hung up, he told my mom that he would order the part and call us when it comes in. HE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE DRYER!!!!! A week later I still had no follow-up so I called AB Appliance. And he said that they don't service my brand and that my HW will be reaching out. I understand there are a lot of moving parts here. Not really - only 2. But what's so upsetting is this company didn't even try.... Didn't pop any components or inspect anything. When he was at my house he KNEW what brand it was. It says it on the front. So I had to wait a week (probably longer if I didn't call). As a homeowner I look for a company that is reliable, educated, and trustworthy. All which I felt this company lacked. And yes, I have already spoke to my HW and shared my thoughts about this whole experience and how they have also let me down. read more

Update: After I contacted my warranty company, they made contact with AB and then I quickly rec'd a call from AB to come out & install the new part! They did so within 2 days and now I'm pleased. The part appears to be working properly and I now have a working dishwasher again. I would now rate them 3.5 stars due to having to hear from them ONLY after contacting my warranty company and waiting ten days+. I'm still quite confused as to why only one review for 2023. Does NOT make sense. Original review: Little disappointed, to put it mildly. Initially they were very responsive when my Home Warranty contacted them and they came next day. Had to order a console panel part for my dishwasher. Said it would take several days - maybe a week maximum. It's now been 10 days and I've heard nothing. When I call, the "mailbox is full" and can't leave a message. This has happened to me before for a prior repair. l don't understand. My dishwasher broke down unexpectedly. Normally I would fix it myself, but the error code was giving me something I had never seen before (or be able to Google). I was worried that this was going to cost me an arm and leg and if there's one thing I hate, it's paying for an diagnostic fee. I called multiple technicians and unfortunately I couldn't find one that would come look at it without $75+/initial visit. I decided to go with AB Appliances because they were able to articulate and explain the purpose of the fees, why it's necessary, and assured me I will get a fair price. Dmitrii showed up to the first appointment on time and was very professional. Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, he arrived with a mask and left his shoes outside. He ran some diagnostics and explained what went wrong with the dishwasher. He gave me some pointers/tips/suggestions to help maintain my dishwasher and keep it from breaking in the future. The second trip he came back and replaced the latch to the dishwasher. Parts + Labor cost around $200. Unfortunately other error codes popped up after the latch repair. He ordered a control valve and replaced that. No luck. He then ordered a new controller board and got it working, but the control valve didn't fit right with the existing hose. He ordered a new hose kit and replaced that. It took over a month to get the dishwasher running again. Despite making multiple trips and replacing multiple parts I was very happy with the service. He was completely apologetic about the wait, kept me in the loop when the next part was coming in, and didn't charge me anything else for the additional repairs. I'll definitely use Dmitrii again for any future repairs and recommend him to everyone. read more

I'm extremely happy with the service with AB Appliances and I would highly recommend them. I called around several appliance mechanics from Yelp and all them I spoke to a rep and then they scheduled the technician. I never spoke to any technician, which I thought was bizarre. I called AB Appliances and from the start Dimitri was my point of contact. I talked to him about my refrigerator issues how it wasn't getting cold and he was able to narrow down what he thought was the fan in the freezer to be the issue. He came over that same day, diagnosed the problem (Friday 7/16) and then today Saturday 7/16 came over with the part and fixed my fridge. The customer service was superb. AB appliance came out to service my refrigerator. The owner Dimitri came out and showed up on time and was both polite and professional. My refrigerator (freezer) was blowing cold air but was not freezing. He did a thorough inspection and he determined that my refrigerator had a previous Freon leak but presently no Freon leak could be detected.. He really took his time to look for the Freon leak with his leak detector. Since no leak could be found, he refilled by refrigerator with Freon and informed me to contact him back if the freezer did not work. Well it appears to be working fine now. Terrible service. Claimed themselves as certified GE technician. The technician doesn't even follow the GE inspection code to check on the machines. After hearing that the machine was not running while the power cord is plugged in, the guys just decided order a part and the part is in back ordered. Asked us to wait for indefinitely. AB Appliance was given a work order by my supplemental home warranty company. Every interaction I have had with them has been a display of very poor attitude rude responses by AB Appliance. It took them 3 days to schedule me for an appointment, a week later to come out, and then the expectation is they will let the home warranty company know the status of the repair required within 24 business hours. It has now been 3 days since that appointment and there has been no communication at all from AB appliance. I would not recommend this company at all. read more

Simply the BEST! I've had them work on my appliances for the last two years, and every encounter (from home warranty to independent service) has been better than perfect. Dimitri is professional, efficient, and effective. He'll go out of his way to help and explain everything. Going above and beyond the call and has saved the day more than once. Very unhappy with the service. Insurance sent this company but I will never go through them again. Two guys showed up wearing Axis shirts. I believe they were Russian but they didn't introduce themselves gave no names. One was quiet and spoke barely any english, although he seemed nice and was cleaning up after the mess his partner made. The partner who was the main guy in charge, absolute joke. He had no idea what was wrong with my fridge. At one point he FaceTimed someone else for help, and he got upset because his cell connection was bad and I didn't know the WiFi password. That's just unprofessional! Then he needed towels because his machine was too hot to touch so I gave him 10 face towels only for him to ask for a large bath towel and give attitude. Oh yeah he also broke the light bulb in the freezer and touched all the food with filthy hands. read more
