Exceptional Service - Truly Above and Beyond at the Darlington Location!…read more I cannot say enough wonderful things about DunRite Automotive & Transmission in Darlington, and especially Rodney Howell. Experiences like this are rare these days, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found them. When I recently had my oil changed, the technician mentioned that my 2003 Toyota Highlander appeared to have a transmission fluid leak. Wanting to get it checked quickly, I searched online and saw that DunRite had some of the best reviews in the area. That's what led me to the Darlington location, and after my experience I can absolutely see why they are so highly rated. I called the shop and spoke with Rodney Howell, who was immediately friendly, professional, and helpful. He quickly scheduled me for service, and when I arrived, he was just as pleasant in person as he was on the phone. What truly impressed me was the transparency and thoroughness of their inspection. The Darlington team performed a full inspection of my vehicle, and Rodney emailed me detailed pictures showing exactly what their technician found. Instead of simply telling me what needed repair, they showed me the issues clearly, which gave me complete confidence in their assessment. In addition to the transmission leak, they identified two other significant issues that needed attention. Rodney walked me through everything, gave me a fair ballpark estimate, and explained that once the parts arrived my vehicle would be next in line for service. Throughout the entire process, Rodney kept me informed every step of the way. His communication was outstanding -- something that is unfortunately rare in the automotive world. When the repairs were completed, Rodney personally called me with great news: the final cost came in significantly lower than the original estimate. That kind of honesty and integrity says a lot about the Darlington team. But the story doesn't even end there. When I arrived to pick up my Highlander, the vehicle I drove to the shop had a huge metal rod stuck in the tire. I honestly didn't know what I was going to do. Without hesitation, Rodney took the vehicle into the shop and fixed the tire for me right then and there -- no charge, no questions asked. I was completely blown away. In all my years dealing with automotive shops, I have never experienced this level of kindness, professionalism, and customer care. Rodney treated me with such respect and genuine concern, and it's clear he takes incredible pride in helping people and representing the Darlington DunRite location well. Businesses succeed because of people like Rodney Howell. I have no doubt that he brings countless repeat customers to the Darlington shop simply because of the way he treats people. If you are looking for honest, skilled, transparent, and truly caring automotive service, I highly recommend DunRite Automotive & Transmission in Darlington. And if you have the chance to work with Rodney Howell, consider yourself very lucky. Thank you Rodney -- your service was absolutely outstanding and you are the BEST! Rachelle Stewart

Took my 78 Camaro to Chris and his team. I was having shifter problems. They looked it over. They…read moreadvised the shifter was just getting old. When we picked the car up they went over the shift operations. No cost for diagnostic. A very friendly and professional shop. If I need transmission work in the future Chris will get my business.

I took my car here to have an oil pan gasket put on. In checking out the car the mechanic (Chris)…read more also found a valve cover gasket leak, a couple of coil wires loose and a sensor that was bad which he didn't notify me of until the work was finished. The cost of the work was $560. When I drove the car to work it ran ok but driving home the engine started "skipping" and I wasn't sure I would make it home. I took the car back "after hours" and left it and then called to leave a message about the problem. When Chris returned my call and I explained the problem he said he wouldn't have time to look at it until "next week." This was on a Friday morning. Chris became very defensive and cursed at me on the phone. I took the car to another shop and they found one of the coils was bad due to a Chris's error in spraying cleaner on the coils which caused it to malfunction. This could have been a simple fix if he had been kind enough to quickly check out the work he had done when I dropped the car off the second time. He obviously knew he had damaged the coil and didn't want to fix it. I had to take the car to another shop for repair which cost another $120. This place will cost you more money for what they mess up and they are EXTREMELY rude!!!
