My hubby and I read about Aaronson Noon glassblowing classes in Time Out's 1000 Things to Do in London. Signing up for the class was extremely simple via email/their website. My hubby and I expected to be in a class with a lot of other students but upon arrival were pleasantly surprised to find out that we were the only students in the class (an intermediate level student ended up being looked after by the owner's assistant). After a 45-60 min intro to the studio/glassblowing 101, Adam (an absolutely amazing glass blowing artist and owner of the gallery) handed me and my hubby the tools to make our own pieces of art. There was obviously a bit of necessary assistance from Adam, but my hubby and I had an absolute blast learning about the basics of glass blowing and ultimately making two vases, two paperweights and a few glass baubles/ Xmas ornaments.
I moved to London nearly two years ago and can confidently say (write?!) that my glass blowing class at Aaronson Noon ranks in the top 5 coolest things that I've done since my arrival here! The class is a bit pricey, but certainly worth the cost. If you're looking for a unique activity to do on a Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon, check out Aaronson Noon...you won't be disappointed. read more
