The worker Mike is very helpful, and courteous. I've only been going to them for a Month, and I…read morehave faith that my appliances that I need for my new home will be delivered hopefully on time. I'll change my rating to to 5 stars once my home is complete and I'll received ALL my appliances.

Do not buy from Stroud Appliance if you expect them to service their products. I thought that was…read morethe reason you bought from an appliance store, and not a big box store. Since moving here in 2003 I had bought all my appliances from them, never again. I have a full kitchen, then another full kitchen area in my finished basement. I first bought a Bosch Washer and Dryer when we move here. I then bought a Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for my Kitchen. When I finished the basement, I bought another Fisher Paykel Dishwasher, GE Refrigerator, and Uline Cabinet Ice Maker from them. All was great, till I needed any kind of service. I had an error code on the Fisher Paykel dishwasher in my kitchen. They referred me to their Sister company for service. I don't think the guy had a clue how to service Fisher Paykel. He came out, cleaned out the water in the drip tray to take care of the error code, billed me, and left. First time I ran it, same error. Just glad it didn't flood my newly finished basement. Glad it was a Fisher Paykel that caught the issue. Different guy came out again and ordered and replaced two parts. Worked fine after that. Dryer then stopped working. I called, and they said they were backlogged and gave me a number of a different servicer that I could call, or said I could buy new ones. I did buy new ones from a different Appliance Store. Final straw was the $2k Uline Ice Maker recently stopped working after 4 years. When I called, they said they lost their servicer for Uline. That I would need to call Uline. Well apparently, Uline doesn't have servicers in our area, only in NJ, and they will not travel to this area. So I am basically out $2k on a 4 year old ice maker, or I can fix it myself. Look elsewhere. I am getting ready to buy a new Thermador Stove, and similar Refrigerator for my kitchen, and also a Freezer for my Garage. It will not be from Stroud Appliance. There are better options in the Bangor area that deliver to East Stroudsburg, and would assume will service their products, unlike Stroud Appliance

If you've ever dreamed of uncovering the perfect vintage treasure, you're in the right place!…read moreAntique stores are big treasure chests. When one shops at them for home decor items, you are truly choosing a special way of creating a home that is all your own. Housed in a restored historic building prior to its present use, the Olde Engine Works began operating as a machine shop that built huge, steam-powered hoists (winches) used mainly for lumbering and quarrying in 1903, located on 3rd Street in Stroudsburg. Since 1993, it's been an indoor antique establishment of nearly 22,000 sq ft with 100 vendors offering the finest selection of collectibles, furniture, and treasures in all of the Poconos, where my partner, his sister, and I came today. Upon entering this spacious, well-maintained, and carefully organized interior as first-timers, it was like stepping into a time machine powered by vintage lamps, antique knick-knacks, and furniture. Some booths were a little tight to walk through, but not bad. There is so much stuff to see one could literally spend several hours in there. We left satisfied with a china cabinet and solid round table. Prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We can recommend this place.

As far as the market itself, be prepared to go through plenty of booths laid out along long aisles. The staff roams around to help and you can also ask for help with locked up items at the front transaction area. Everyone was very pleasant to deal with and helpful. Some booth's are cluttered and could use a lot of organization, but others were nicely laid out. It took an hour and a half to snake around the entire building. There was a mix of: memorabilia, nostalgic stuff, lots of glass sets and dishware sets, jewelry, books, magazines, records, CD's, videos, console video games, some sports collectibles and seasonal items. I could go on and on. I found an old Matchbox truck I had been looking for that was cheaper than Ebay prices and a couple old Sega games for my Genesis console that were in working condition. The wife was loving some of the old jewelry, but passed. I was surprised at the asking price for certain things I thought of as "junk" back when I was younger ..... but then I'm reminded of the saying - things are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them. I thought it was a fun time to chat with the wife, literally walk down memory lane and pass some time before we went into town to grab some lunch.
