They don't pitch and pressure you like a car dealership like other places. As far as editing, video quality and style, it's beautiful and worth every penny, which in itself, is reasonable and very competitive. The highlight reel is absolutely perfect to show family and friends without boring them with hours of footage, we can save that or ourselves and our parents. John gave great direction to get the best possible video that you specifically wanted and was dressed very professional. There literally isn't a single thing I can complain about. I can't thank Memory Lane enough. They are invaluable if you want to capture moments in time. Pictures are beautiful and great, but would you prefer a picture of your kids first steps, or a video?

Phelicia with Next 2 Venus was truly one of the best decisions we made for our birth experience…read more We had not originally planned on having a birth photographer, but Phelicia showed up to my induction on almost no notice at a DC hospital and stayed with us for more than five hours -- from about 7 cm dilated through a long pushing phase. She documented the experience so beautifully and naturally, capturing the real emotion, strength, tenderness, and details of our hospital birth in a documentary style that feels completely authentic. She captured moments I did not even realize were happening: the way my partner supported me, the emotion in the room, and the first moments of becoming a family. Beyond the photos, Phelicia's presence in the room was incredibly calming. You can tell she is not just a photographer, but someone with real birth experience. Her background in doula support and infant feeding/lactation work came through in the way she moved through the room: quiet, respectful, steady, and supportive. When we were facing some concerns about possible complications, she helped create a sense of calm without ever overstepping. The images were turned around quickly, and we received both color and black-and-white versions. We will treasure them forever. I honestly cannot imagine not having these photos now. For anyone looking for a birth photographer in the Washington, DC area, a hospital birth photographer, induction photographer, or documentary-style maternity, newborn, or birth photographer, I cannot recommend Phelicia with Next 2 Venus enough. She captured one of the most meaningful days of our lives with so much care.

I can't express how important a video of our wedding day was for me. We had put it on the…read moreback-burner for budget reasons, but as a professional wedding planner I know how quickly the day flies by - I wanted to savor every moment! We wrote our own vows, so that was my biggest area of concern (and I was right - I didn't remember anything he said because I was SO EXCITED to be there!) After finding Mike and expressing to him our budgetary concerns (and the fact that my fiance wasn't 100% sold on the idea of a video) he was very friendly and patient. He gave me a quote, but also gave me time to think about it. When we finally booked, he only took 10% of the cost as a deposit (low compared to other vendors I booked/have worked with in the past) which was a really appreciated. As we got closer to the day, he asked to meet for a one-on-one meeting to go over exactly what we wanted. He was very personable and easy to get along with - he put my fiance at ease about the video and listened to everything we asked for. On the day of the event, he was like a ghost (in a good way). I rarely saw him or his second shooter, but he managed to capture every moment perfectly. He gave us an accurate expectation of when we would have the video after the wedding, but was also polite/friendly when my mom and I emailed/text him to ask when it would be ready leading up to it. When we did get the video, my husband and I were so happy I can't even put it into words! He did EXACTLY what I asked for - I had a very specific style I was looking for and he nailed it. In short - I would recommend Cerious Productions 100% (and actually already have!) to anyone looking for videography.
