I had taken the recommended meds, but it did not TOUCH the pain. My surgery was on a Friday, so I had to call the after hours care line. The doctor on call did not prescribe any other meds, and advised that I go to the ER. I understand that ERs are understaffed everywhere. The ER was the most painful 12 hours of my life. I don't believe I should have been sent there. Dr. King did a great job, but I cannot endorse the after-care after the pain I experienced.

He didn't warn me that I would no longer be able to see up close. Even with glasses, I can't see what I did before. And he diagnosed me with AMD age-related Macular Degeneration and said I'd be blind in both eyes within 10 years, but I'd be dead by then anyway so don't worry. Well, I was 65. My folks usually live to be 98 on average. Some 105! So no I won't be dead by then. I got a second opinion from a retina specialist who said that I only had one spot with AMD, and it was unlikely to cause blindness, but that i should be checked annually just in case. If it did spread, there are shots that can be given in the eyes to slow it down. And it does NOT always move to the other eye as Dr Sudiqui had told me. Dr Sudiqui also wanted me to have another surgery to correct the glare I was experiencing. But I only get glare when I'm wearing glasses, so how is surgery going to fix that? The specialist said no I don't need that surgery and it wouldn't help that problem. I need glasses that don't reflect as much light into my eyes.

When I brought this to Dr. Edwards' attention, his response was "that would only be on my chart if I had told them that." This felt unprofessional and dismissive. I also completed an additional test at Dr. Edwards' recommendation after being told it would provide valuable insight. When the results came back, I was told there was "little" to take from them, yet another practitioner later reviewed the same results and offered a much clearer, more actionable interpretation. I raised my concerns about the care I was receiving on two occasions. After the first time, I was scheduled for an appointment, but the outcome was again a list of many suggestions with no real plan. After voicing my concerns a second time, I was removed from the membership. Ultimately, my time and money were not well spent here. I have since found a practitioner who provides a clear, manageable healing plan and truly supportive care. Based on my experience, I would encourage those with chronic or complex health issues to seek care elsewhere if they are looking for thorough guidance, clarity, and follow-through. Nobody said that maybe some levels in my test were higher than they should be or anything like that ( I am over 40, so I don't think that everything in that test was perfect)... Second example - I went to his office to find out about numbness in my 2 fingers and what caused it and Dr.Boyd's response was :"So what kind of doctor should I send you to find that?"... Who is a doctor in this scenario for crying out loud? I wouldn't go there if I were you.

I asked her 2 questions: 1) Why did you wait to the last minute to ask for records, and 2) will it take another 30 days to get in? Her reply, "Do you want us to see you or not?" My reply "NO"
