I honestly never thought I'd be writing a review about an insurance company - never mind a positive review.... but I really believe in giving credit where credits due... I first discovered AAMI insurance, when my sister let me borrow her car and someone crashed into me (seriously - thats what happened). Making the claim and getting the car repaired was really easy.... Firstly when I called, I got through to someone straight away....they were kind and sympathetic .... (no robots here).... When I dropped off the car, they gave me two taxi cab charges so that I could get to work and come back to collect my car.... they were very thoughtful and considerate and i really appreciated their assistance.... I've recently purchased public liability insurance for me business.... the women on the phone was really friendly and made the process really easy.... I never thought insurance could be so easy....and I promise you they're not paying me to say this.... This Assessment Centre is for a bunch of insurers, not just AAMI. I did deal with AAMI over the phone and was allocated this centre. It allowed my to arrange my drop off time online - win! It's a well oiled machine. . You drive straight in, hand over your keys, then sit in the waiting area enjoying complimentary coffee until your taxi arrives to take you to work/home. I've heard some horror stories about some assessment centres taking weeks to choose a repairer, but these guys have quotes ready on the same day you drop the car off. They send you the details of where is will be repaired so you can keep tabs on things, and they give you a 2nd taxi voucher to get to the repairer to pick up your vehicle when it's done. Too easy. Takes a lot of stress out of the whole "my car is screwed" experience, which can be a very unpleasant series of event. read more

Just got my car insurance renewal from AAMI. With a whopping 31.7% increase from last year's premium.... wow! When I called to enquire about why it has shot up so high, I spoke to Mary (based in Philippines) and after talking to her for 3-4 minutes she what sounded like pressing buttons and then going off line then back on for about 12 minutes said there's nothing they can do and that's the premium I need to pay. I then asked to speak to a supervisor... Alesha (eventually gets on) and in her words the premium gets worked out via a computer and is 'Rerated the risk' and that's it! A computer has the final say and there's nothing she can or probably even wants to do about it and couldn't explain why it jumped so high ... 31.7% (really)!! In the process I was told by Alesha 'we don't have any discounts available at this time' . That to mean sounds as though, after being with them for so long l, I guess there policy is now, yep we don't care for our loyal customers..... After asking to speak to a manager to explain the ridiculous increase I got told by Alesha that she's the highest that can speak to me and that she will escalate it and after 10 business days someone will contact me to discuss it. 10 business days... what happened to customer service AAMI??
