I have moved more times in my life than I can remember. I have never had such a nightmare experience with a moving company than I have with AAction Movers. From the person doing the estimate not listening to instructions from me to making commitments that were not honored, they are untrustworthy and have no concept of customer service, let alone caring for the property they are moving. The only positive thing I can say is the 2 gentlemen that did the physical move were polite. If I had to choose between using AAction Movers and leaving all my property behind, I would leave everything behind. Given the thousands of dollars of damage and the actual cost of the move, it would have been less expensive to buy all new furniture and household goods. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

INTERESTING - I posted my review and went to look at it. The review states my location as California - We live in Bismarck, ND. Our move was 1 mile. The WORST experience ever. Aaction came highly recommended - did not deliver and extremely frustrated with the lack of progress on our claims. We had 13 pieces of furniture damaged by the "professional" loaders. During the quote process and after the move, the insurance was not explained. Ended up with the basis - $.30 per pound for damage. 13 pieces damaged, thousands of dollars, and we received $175. 2nd claim flied for damage to our house - STILL WAITING after three months. I have not repaired anything in house and they really do not give a SH&^. I was told that all damage would be covered at 100% - STILL WAITING. Working with the so-called staff over the past 3 months has been complete hell. No one calls back or takes ownership of anything - the old adage - over promise and under deliver. There is an excuse for everything and it is a bunch of BS. We live in Bismarck, ND- My recommendation is to use a local company. I am pretty sure this will never be seen by anyone - hopefully it is. read more

The incompetence and blatant disregard for property damaged was incredible Out of the nine moves associated with work, AAction was by far the WORST. They were subcontracted as part of my OCONUS move by a national chain so we expected a few challenges but the total lack of communication is disgraceful. The day of delivery was a complete and total cluster. A PODS container arrived - unlocked! Four hours late, a crew of 6 arrived of which three where actually intoxicated (drunk), one hung over, and the other two somewhat sober. As you can imagine things progressed in a derogatory manner as the drunks fumbled around causing extensive property damage as they unloaded our belongings. It took four months to complete the claims process and only after the primary national chain became involved did we make progress. . read more

These guys were GREAT!! Keith and his crew showed up as scheduled on time and ready to work. They are very professional, wearing PPE even in the 110 degree Vegas summer. Polite and friendly. Making sure everything was set up and in the proper rooms. Checking with us before they left to see if we needed anything else done. I will definitely be calling this company again for my next move. These guys are completely unprofessional. A neighbor in our community was moving. And because they can't drive a truck properly, they start pounding--and I mean, POUNDING--on all the nearby doors to get everyone to move their cars. This is at 8am, on a Saturday. 'People gotta move, let's go', they said. So I put my newborn son down as he's crying to move my car. They all just stand there and say, 'everyone's gotta move.' People move all the time. The difference is, with competent movers, you don't have to disturb the whole neighborhood. read more

Overall my experience with these movers was good, so I'll start with the positives. They contacted me promptly after I requested a quote online, which was nice. The guy who came & gave me the estimate explained everything very well and in a concise manner. He also explained that the quote was binding to them & that they could not change it if it was more expensive-which is apparently something other companies can do. Once he got me the quote (which I could review & esign!) I was shuffled along to my moving coordinator, Sherri. She was very nice & kept in contact with me throughout the process when questions/concerns arose. When the truck came & the movers started packing things they were courteous and for the most part didn't make a mess of my house (coming in with dirty boots, etc) in the process. I had to remind them once to put something down on the carpet so they didn't track in dirt/mud. Everything (less one box) showed up undamaged and was delivered the time of day they said it would be. They reassembled what they disassembled just as they said they would, however they did incorrectly reassemble my inversion table which is unfortunate because now I have to take it apart to reassemble correctly. My main gripe was the time frame & how it all came together. They had a 14 day window in which they could deliver my things to the destination. For about a week I had no idea when it was going to be delivered because they 'couldn't find a driver'. I was shocked initially, but this wasn't a huge deal to me because I had flexibility in my arrangements. When a driver was finally assigned I got 2 days notice before my things were delivered. My stuff sat in storage for about a week before being delivered. If I had the choice I would use them to move again! read more

My husband hired this company to pack and move the contents of our Bismarck, ND home several months after he kicked me out and needed to move himself due to not paying the rent. Those items that I was allowed to keep were held hostage in an independent storage facility for several months. After hiring a locksmith to retrieve my items I first discovered that the movers packed the boxes excessively heavy. They must hire employees based on strength, rather than brain power, as the heaviest boxes were stored on top of those marked "fragile" and stacked well above a level of 6' high, making them almost impossible to get down safely. Once I began the unpacking process, to my horror, I discovered many broken items due to poor packing methods. It also appeared that they collected random items from every room in the house to pack together in a single box, rather than pack "like" items together from a single room. Boxes were labeled, although mostly incorrectly as far as what contents truly were in the box. Several high value items were also discovered missing, whether that was the husband or the movers is a true mystery! My suggestion to anyone reading this review is do your homework or you may be sorry. read more

Moved from Mesa, AZ to SLC, UT with the local contractors of United Movers. Communication was good throughout, they took good care of the home (on both ends) and worked hard. Packing was done well and nothing got broken or damaged (to my knowledge). Pricing was competitive and turned out to be the most cost-effective. In short, I'd recommend using United movers. read more

Warning! This is NOT United Van Lines It's a very small business with only 2 small moving trucks! When we tried to get assistance from United Van Lines we were told they can not control what this moving company does. You will pay United Van Lines prices and get very minimal service. We were told by one of their movers they only have 2 smaller moving trucks for this area. We signed a contract with Aaction Movers to move our furnishings from our home on a specific date and the movers did not even show up on "Moving Day" or inform us they would not be there.When we called, Nikki (our move coordinator) told us they forgot to put us on their schedule and that our salesman Dan Baskerville, did not give them the correct information. My husband actually had to help the 2 boys from Aaction Movers move the furnishings from our home because they were not capable of moving items and sat in the back of the moving truck complaining about weather and having to work.We were paying them hourly! They are very difficult to work with and not in the least professional. We were told many things by their salesman. Be prepared to pay substantially more than the quote you get from the salesman! If you need temporary storage be aware! We were told, their "Indoor Climate Controlled Storage" that is listed on the contract is actually a semi trailer that sets outside the warehouse in the elements is the actual storage, our furniture was covered with dirt leaves and spider webs.Check out pictures of our furniture in back of moving truck, nothing was wrapped or protected, this is how our furniture and home goods were treated. I was moving from Rapid City, SD to Philadelphia,PA. Jackie came to my house and gave me a very good estimate for my move.Shannon kept in touch with me through my whole move. Everything went very smooth. The moving men from Rapid City moved my items to a truck. My move was not into a house or Apt. It was into a storage unit. I did not realize how small the unit was, I was very concerned my items would not fit. The movers from Mayflower worked very hard to fit all of my items into that small unit. I did not have to rent another one they did such a great job. In addition, I was taking some of my things to where I was staying for a short term, they even helped me load my things that me and my sister had to take back to house. I can't say how great my move was with Aaction Movers. I did not experience anything bad with United/Mayflower. I would recommend them to anyone. They even helped me with boxes. read more

We had an absolutely terrible moving experience with Aaction Movers/United Van Lines, experiencing more damage in a small shipment of goods (less than 2000 lbs) than in all five combined whole-house moves, both domestic and international. We had a number of items moved from my wife's parents' home after they died, which were both of exceptional quality and emotionally very valuable. Although all items were well protected when they left the home (blanket wrapped), when they were transferred into the shipping container the blanket wrapping was inexplicably removed, and the items only flimsily protected by paper. Predictably the paper broke through due to jostling during transit, and virtually every piece was damaged, some extensively. The claims settling process was equally bad. For a very old oak chest, Aaction/United refused to pay adequately for repair, claiming that a portion of the damage was pre-existing when we knew that was not accurate. We believe this was due to the fact that the inspection firm who came to our home was hired by United, and thus was guaranteed to have a biased viewpoint. The local claims agent with Aaction in Bismarck was very unresponsive, and we had to resort to dealing with United Van Lines corporate in order to reach resolution that we felt was anything close to fair. The process took months and was very time-consuming. We also incurred minor damage to my wife's parents' home caused by lack of care by the movers carrying out the furniture. This was brought to our attention by those movers. After agreeing on a very small amount to repair the damage ($100), a couple months later I submitted a claim for $100 labor plus $15 for a quart of paint. The local Bismarck claims agent refused the claim entirely, telling me I had only 10 days from the move to submit the claim. This was completely inaccurate, as regulations allowed 9 months. I ended up going to United corporate, and they eventually sent me full reimbursement for the repair of the damage. But it was a just a ridiculous hassle to deal with. Along the way, I also left a message with the person I was told was the top manager at Aaction Movers, and I never heard back from that person. The only person at Aaction who we felt was really good was the guy who originally estimated our job. He was conscientious, thorough and professional. I hope no one else has this same experience moving. read more

We were extremely pleased with AAction Movers during our recent cross country move. Starting at the beginning with Billy who did our pre-move estimate, to the 3 young men who did the loading at our departure location, to Shannon our move coordinator- who managed to keep us informed and updated throughout the entire process. Most importantly to James the cross country van driver who stayed in contact with us during the trek to our new home. He and his crew of helpers were very friendly and courteous. They handled all of our possessions with care- as though they were their own, and made sure everything was put back together as it was designed to be. James really is a tremendous ambassador. read more

I hate writing reviews so this is a big deal that I am actually writing one. I don't recommend this company. Communication was awful and non existent the estimate was off. Here is what happened: My belongings were picked up on June 19th to be delivered to Wisconsin June 30th. It was a snap move but they didn't have containers but I was assured they were getting more in that day and my belongings would be loaded into the crates that afternoon. I heard nothing from anyone for the next 9 days. I called my regional move manager on the 29th to make sure everything was still on schedule. She informed me that she did not know where my belongings were but thought they were still in bismarck. I called the local move manager in bismarck and confirmed that my belongings were not only in Bismarck but hadn't even been crated yet! It was scheduled to be crated first thing Wednesday morning (a day after it was supposed to arrive in Wisconsin). I called every day that week and spoke with both the local coordinator and the national coordinator to make sure things were on track but no one could even estimate when delivery would be... my belongings sat at the bismarck warehouse for another week and did not get picked up until Monday the 6th. I was then informed on Tuesday that it took 5 crates instead of 3 or 4 and I owed money. Why was I not informed that it was 5 crates until after it was on the way to Wisconsin? I was in contact with a couple people from the moving company every day... seems very possible that I should have known sooner.. After a week of not knowing when my belongings would arrive I finally had a delivery date of July 14th a full 2 weeks after it was supposed to be delivered and 26 days after my belongings were moved from my house. I spoke with united/mayflower corporate to try and get some resolution on the awful costumer service and after a week of trying she was unable to speak with someone in bismarck about my move. When my belongings arrived the frame of my loved seat was broken and a couple of items did not even make it to destination. The parts box that they packed was not taped shut and an important piece to my bed frame was missing and found on top of a random box 3 crates from where the parts box was! Furniture was not wrapped appropriately edges sticking out of blankets tape over vaneered surfaces. I was very disappointed in the origin portion of this move read more

AAction Movers Loved it I recently moved from North Dakota to South Carolina. In Bismarck I used AAction Movers as the local agent for United Van Lines who handled the interstate movement of my housewares to South Carolina. I found the staff of AAction Movers easy to work with, reliable and professional. Sherri Fischer and Dan were esp easy to work with. They were very responsive to my calls and questions. Moving is inherently stressful but the staff at AAction Movers were great. This is my 3rd interstate move and this one was the easiest by far. On top of the great service they were able to reduce the final cost of the "binding estimate" by $400. Can highly recommend both AAction Movers and United Van Lines. read more

I have used professional movers several times in my life, and coming from a military family, had witnessed over a dozen moves my parents made. Aaction movers is the most unprofessional moving company I have ever encountered. Although the move had been scheduled for almost three months, and confirmed days prior... the packers showed up fours hours late. They did not bring the boxes estimated, and those were not enough resulting in a "re-estimate" that jacked the cost up to 20 percent. Instead of the 3-4 hours estimated for pickup, the movers didn't leave until eight hours later. The lateness resulted in our having to rent two hotels rooms that night, as we had planned to take the five-hundred mile drive in the afternoon to our house in Minneapolis. We were then charged for nine boxes not used or packed from the "second estimate." The worst part is we had been lied to by both the coordinator, and the driver. The coordinator tried to blame my 84-year-old mother-in-law for the change in pick time, although Aaction was never given her home phone number--she also was unaware of the delivery time scheduled for the elevator at her new Sr. Living residence. So, if you want to get under-estimated and then over-charged, do not mind your move being eight or nine hours late and additional expenses of over $500, and honesty doesn't mean anything to you, then go ahead and consider Aaction Movers. read more

This is a portion of the letter we sent to AAction Movers and United Van Lines... The consultant who came to our house for the estimate was Dan B. of AAction Movers. He walked through our house to get the inventory. He inquired as to what services we were interested in. I told him we would pack up most of our belongings. However I also told him that we wanted the movers to pack anything expensive, large or fragile including our wall hangings (also included were a curio cabinet, a 55" plasma TV). He said that was no problem. Loading our belongings onto the truck was slated to last from 8AM-5PM. So over the course of the next several weeks, my wife and I packed up everything we could except for the expensive, large and fragile items. On the morning of the move, we had everything except for 8-10 boxes of last minute things packed up and ready to be loaded onto the truck. April 27th arrived and the moving crew was at our house promptly around 8AM. The fiancé of the driver, who was at that point wearing a sweatshirt that said "Big Sexy", started the inventory. Only after arriving at our destination was I made aware that she marked every piece of furniture of ours as "scratched". Granted many pieces of our furniture are scratched. Some are rather new, however. "Scratched" seems like it would cover marks barely noticeable to the naked eye along with deep gouges into the wood. As the owner, I would have wanted to go through the evaluation with her so that we could avoid a situation where everything could simply be marked "scratched" in order to free the movers from damage liability. We were never given that opportunity. As the crew went about its work, it became very apparent that they were very ill-prepared for the job. We had three mattresses to move. They arrived with one mattress box, no picture/wall hanging boxes and no TV box and packaging. In addition, the driver was in his trailer for the first 3-4 hours of the day rearranging the load already on the truck because he was concerned that our belongings wouldn't fit. He actually took one of the local workers to help him disassemble pieces of furniture from said previous load, which meant that worker was no longer preparing and arranging our belongings. The result of this ill-preparedness was that by noon, they had a paltry four or five of our pieces of furniture loaded onto the truck and nothing else. By 2PM, the vast majority of our belongings, both furniture and boxes were still in our house. Our plan was to leave Bismarck by 6:30PM at the absolute latest. That's what we had prepared for because that's what we were told the load would take at most from 8AM-6PM. The driver's fiancé told me she didn't think they'd be able to get everything packed that day. She said she was nervous about working after sundown because their trailer didn't have any lights inside of it. Over the course of the afternoon, we expressed our frustration to the Director of Operations at AAction Movers. She went to our house to "motivate" the crew already there and called in a couple extra people to finish the job that day. We appreciated that, but the day was already pretty much gone and our timetable was shot. By the time all of our belongings were loaded onto the truck and the doors were shut, it was 9:30PM. We drove out of our driveway at 10PM. A crew of 4-6 people took 13 hours to load a family of 3 who had done the majority of the packing. We arrived in our new area of residence in the evening of Thursday, April 28th, 2016. The next day, the driver's fiancé called us again to let us know they were going to be delivering on Saturday morning first thing. Ordinarily this would have been a welcome thing. However, due to our departure being delayed thanks to the ineptitude and ill-preparedness of AAction Movers, we weren't ready to receive our things and had to try to line up a storage unit at the last minute. I requested that they give us an additional day. Initially, the driver's fiancé said they could work with that. Five minutes later she called back to say that her dispatcher told her that they had to deliver first thing Saturday morning and that we could either receive our stuff without having a place to put it, or they would put it in their storage at our expense. So our timeline could be changed and we just had to deal with it, but their timeline couldn't unless we wanted to pay for it. It was insulting and infuriating considering what had already happened. We were able to arrange for a storage unit just in time. When the driver opened the door, we discovered that our belongings had been thrown carelessly into the back of the truck. We assume that was in order to get the loading job done in a hurry in Bismarck. A photo is included with this letter. Please note that our $1,000 mattress is not in a box and was simply thrown in the back. All in all, our experience with AAction Movers was absolutely awful. Fantastic! USE THIS COMPANY! Very smooth, quick, seamless move. Excellent moving staff...great attitudes, professional, courteous and caring on pick-up end and delivery end. They had 3 flights of stairs on one pick-up end and never complained...stuff arrived earlier than quoted which was great...the elevator was broken on delivery end, and we live on the 5th floor. Felt so bad for them...they never complained...they were quick, professional and very courteous. On top of it all, we received an almost $500 credit once the move was completed...so they are very honest as well. Would highly recommend!!!! No doubts. Excellent customer service and really nice guys all the way around. The only things that were damaged were some large dishes that I packed incorrectly...so, my fault, not theirs. They VERY carefully packed my expensive large mirrors and artwork, and TV's...awesome job!!! Cannot say enough how much I appreciate them! read more
