You get honesty with him and its refreshing. He's got a great attitude and my personal recommendation is to let him know the full detail of your current situation with other job interviews. Heather and her sister, Katie, run an excellent staffing agency on Belmont. I had spoken with Heather prior to my move and she started looking for jobs right away. She really took the time and found some great interviews for me. There are slower weeks and then there are more busy ones. She has been a constant help to me, even referring my husband to an agency which specializes in IT recruitment. She has been understanding and extremely helpful throughout this daunting relocation process and while my current position is a long term contract position, which may or may not go permanent, I have total confidence that I can count on her for assistance when my position ends. Summit Chicago Staffing is an excellent resource and if they can't help you directly, it seems that they know someone who can.

I suspect it usually doesn't happen that fast regardless of the recruiter but my point is that she is on it! This said, prior to to reaching Heather, I had zero luck with any of the other Chicago-area recruiters. Summit is absolutely the way to go!

Nothing but dead air lately from The Smart Dept. I worked a job for them a while back and they did NOT have my back when the situation fell apart. They privately told me they were on my side and understood what my issues were with the client, but they did nothing to earn the money they robbed from me. This is a garbage company. Even something as basic as the lack of a search option on their website that would allow an applicant to search for local jobs, jobs in their field, or remote work has not been made available to applicants, which shows how out of touch and dumb this "smart" department really is. EDIT: Weeks have gone by without so much as an email telling me they've received any of my applications. They're on my block list now. I suspect the positive reviews here have come from employees of Smart Dept itself, or other plants and familiars.

I cannot overemphasize the quality, professionalism and attentiveness of The Chicago Hire Company…read more Within days of submitting my application they connected me with several companies with whom I got interviews. Before each interview, they sent me a very thorough prep-sheet. They spent a lot of time on the phone with me getting to know my preferences and career goals. Also, there was a sense of fun about working with them! I'd utilized three other recruiting agencies before I found them and I'd come to expect poor service and constant checking in to remind them to work for you. My experience at The Chicago Hire Company was completely different. They are excellent and I can't recommend them enough!

After having a baby, I wasn't actively planning to return to work and was hesitant about re-entering the workforce with a gap in my work history. But Emily saw potential in me that I hadn't yet recognized in myself. She connected me with an opportunity at a medical device manufacturing startup in an operations and administrative role. Following the company's acquisition in 2024, I stayed on--what began as a leap of faith ultimately became the catalyst for a long-term career path. Since then, I've grown into a mid-level corporate role with exciting opportunities ahead in the medical device and technology industry. I'm incredibly grateful to Emily Cullen and The Larko Group for helping me take such a major step forward. If you're hesitant about working with recruiters, just know there are genuine professionals out there--and Emily is one of them. Doug was actually one of the first to email me back. I immediately favored his template and I even showed my girlfriend the three templates (without telling which one I preferred) and she agreed that Doug's was the best. Doug's writing style is professional, easy to read, and the template was very appealing and eye-catching. The next day, I called Doug to ask him a few questions. Based on our conversation, I knew I wanted to choose JobStars. Doug is a genuine guy who really wanted to help me out. He answered all of my questions and offered the best value for the three services I requested so I purchased the package later that night. The following morning, I received a response email with a questionnaire to fill out. After filling out the questionnaire and sending it back, Doug said it would take 4-5 business days for him to write the first draft. Sure enough, I received the first draft in 4 business days. As an added bonus, Doug went out of his way and sent me an alternate resume (I'm pursuing careers in two different fields). I informed him there was an application I wanted to submit that was due at midnight, and within an hour of sending me the first draft, I had an alternate resume as well. As mentioned before, Doug genuinely wanted to help me succeed. Overall, I am very happy with choosing JobStars. My resume looks outstanding and highlights my accomplishments from previous jobs. Most importantly, it created my own brand which is important in job hunting and standing out. I feel much more confident starting my job search and feel like I have an edge over the competition.
