York county AAA is horrible!!! There's no way you can talk to anyone in charge. I've been a member since 2007 and the 3 times I've had to use them it's a minimum of 3 hour wait!!! 2 previous times I ended up canceling their service. This time they ordered a tow service out of West Chester Pa. That's over 2 hours away!!! I'm canceling my membership and I'll call local from now on. Do not join!!! Or buy their insurance!!! My mother in law is having a horrible time with their homeowners insurance. Agent won't call her . Please stay away!!!! read more

I stopped back after my wife received her title and registration before I had even so much had my check clear my bank account. After waiting 45 minutes for a manager to return from her break when told she would be back in 15 minutes, I was informed that she change my signed title and registration change forms in multiple places to correct her poorly trained employee's mistakes. I've worked in the legal field for a decade and was always taught that you don't alter a legal document with the signee at least initialing the paperwork. Clearly, they were never taught this at this AAA location either. She called her courier to confirm that they delivered it to PennDOT, but she has no more information as my paperwork wasn't showing up on PennDOT's system. I was informed that she had trained her staff on the credit union being in the system. While that might help some unfortunate soul stupid enough to come here for the tag and title work, it does nothing for me. read more

I grew up in a family that for a couple of generations swore that you had to have an AAA membership. My experience with the York, PA office tells me that the time has come to end my membership. They seem to be unable to get membership cards to members. This is the 4th year in a row where they have struggled to deliver. Fortunately I drive newer vehicles because them not providing cards is really causing problems. There is nothing like paying an excessive fee for a service that you can not use because they won't get you cards. Customer service has been very apathetic in this office in attempting tor resolve the situation. Based on what the previous reviewer had to say, I think we have a trend of dissatisfied customers. If you want to have AAA coverage, look for a different office as this one is no bueno in my book. read more

If I could give a negative after today I would .I have been a member for 36 years and no more after today Called due to dead battery waited 2 hrs came installed new battery but new one didn't work was not charged was told by tech it was not chgd had weak charged as long as he put the jump charger on the new battery it would run so he told us with the jump start to drive home and if didn't start call AAA back k they would come with another new battery and install So home it didn't start called AAA they sent so m eone who doesn't install new batteries he said this battery has a charge but every time we turn off car it won't start without a jump by him he told us to take it to our mechanic to see if it is installed correctly so he jump started it again and left my husband is at garage now this battery is no good Called AAA back they will not come put in a new battery that works I paid $240 this morning for that battery and now my husband is at mechanic paying to have a good battery installed read more

I recently visited the York office to renew my membership and driver's license. Well, where do I start. There is no front desk to register anymore. So I walked back to member services. I was immediately helped but when I told the associate what I needed to do, I was told I'd have to see someone else for my license renewal. Spent 15 minutes with her just to renew my membership. I then had to wait another 10 minutes to see someone about my license renewal. There was no other customers in the office. I don't want to think about what a mess it must be when it's busy. After 20 years as a member, this may just be my last time I renew my membership. read more

After my wife added me to the policy and paid the membership fee (deducted from our account within hours), I needed to use roadside assistance a few days later out of state for a blown radiator. After calling, roadside, and after telling them I'm pulling a trailer and to let the tow company know that, first they couldn't even get me to the right call center after I gave them route numbers I was close too, asking me what call center I'm in, (how would I know) , I was redirected to my local York office and was told the membership fee was not paid and I had to pay again. After getting nowhere and having to pay the membership again, they finally transferred me back to of course the wrong call center again not being able to direct me to the right one until 2 transfers later telling each about where I was (they couldn't figure out by the route numbers, my son was googling faster) and telling them to make sure the tow company knows I had a trailer to please let the tow company know, each saying they would. Finally they connected me to the right roadside call center and again telling them my whole situation again, and again they said they would let the tow driver know of my trailer situation, asked me where I wanted towed (my son was still googling faster than they could get information in their area!) This whole fiasco took over 2 hours on the phone! Horrible! (Glad I didn't have a dead battery or my phone would have drained!!!). Then the tow driver came, and wouldn't you know it, when I asked if he could also tow my car and trailer, he said, wow, if they would have told him, he would have brought his other truck with an extra hitch but he couldn't with the one he had. He was nice and expressed his frustration that people go thru with AAA and usually take out on him. Finally coming up with a scenario to tow to a uhaul which , of course my son googled, happened to be right beside the towing garage, I myself was able to arrange a transport to get everything back to my home in PA with uhaul. (The uhaul crew in Ravenna Ohio along with their roadside call center was just outstanding and helped me 100x better than AAA, unbelieveable!!!. What a joke, Triple AAA! The uhaul dealer even tried to go out of their way to try and get my car running, on their own time, driving to multiple parts stores without taking a cent from me. The guy tried but couldn't fix it good enough to drive another 6 hrs. so apologized and loaded the car on the trailer behind the uhaul truck. Can you believe he actually apologized for trying to help me? At least there are some good caring people left in this world. Then after finally getting back home and trying to get the refund on my duplicate payment I had to make, no one on the phone could figure it out so I actually had to print out my bank statement so they could see the double payment and take it in to them. Over 2 weeks later, after going in again, I finally get the refund. In my opinion, AAA is the worst for any true roadside assistance more than a couple miles from home. Also if you go into the office and ask for travel plans and directions, or construction issues on roadways, they just google it the same as I would (and at a slower pace), No one there in the local office knows any information like they used to years ago when they could tell you real pertinent info. I even called a call center once on the road for construction information in chicago area and they couldn't even help me or tell me a good route to take in their own area, saying their unsure of the latest info! What a big help....not! read more
