The technician told me the compressor had failed and that I needed to buy a new refrigerator. I wasn't confident in that diagnosis, so I called Sears Appliance Repair for a second opinion. Their technician quickly identified that the compressor start switch had failed. He replaced the switch, and the refrigerator has worked perfectly ever since. I contacted this company to request a refund because of the incorrect diagnosis, but I've heard nothing from them since. Do yourself a favor--save your money and call someone else.

I texted him 3 times and then asked him if he would at least tell me the parts name- Nothing. I called 5 times and messaged a number of times. So his seems to be- charge a consulting fee, and then just never comes back. I called a few appliance services to see if they worked on LG appliance and told them the situation with "The appliance doctor" and both said they have had to clean up his messes a number of times. Called for an ice maker repair on a Wednesday. I believe a call center handles their scheduling…read more The scheduling was a breeze and I was set to have an appointment 2 days later on Friday . The technicians came out on time, were nice, friendly, and professional. They diagnosed the problem and stated they'd order the part and call to schedule when the part came in. The following Tuesday, the call center called and stated the part was in and they'd be out the next day which was Wednesday to install it and get the ice maker working again. The following day, they responded again on time, installed the part and I paid for the repair which was $289 for a 9 year old refrigerator that was $850 brand new. I paid the piper and was told I'd have ice in 24 hours. 24 hours later on Thursday, no ice. Not even a sign of ice cometh. I called back, told the call center, and they scheduled the technician back out the next day, Friday. The same technician responded, examined the ice maker and informed us ice was on its way, it just needed a little more time. Through the weekend, still no ice. Called first thing Monday and the technician ordered another part and stated we would owe them another $189 for the new part. While awaiting this part, I received an unsolicited survey in my email from the corporate company. I filled it out honestly, pretty much stating I was unhappy. This part came in and on Wednesday (2 weeks from original call and 2 weeks without ice) the technician installed it, and 24 hours later I finally had ice. The technician mentioned my unsatisfactory review, I'm guessing their franchise must have received some heat from corporate because we were not charged the second time. That's why I gave 3 stars instead of 2. They were clean and professional, plus the corporate office does take their customers satisfaction into consideration and makes things right without having to complain.

Long review but hopefully thorough to explain why I will be calling these guys first next time I…read moreneed a repair. My ice maker was broken for the 2nd time in a year and a half. Last company I used was very nice, but it was a hefty bill and it took a handful of days for them to come over, determine what was wrong, then a few more days to order the part. This was also in the summer time when I love having ice in my drinks. This time I sent out what I thought the job required via Yelp to several companies. Larue Mechanical Services was one of the first to respond. On top of that they were able to determine what the likely cause and fix was (basically just replacing it) and give me a total estimate cost of the repair before they came over. Other companies were able to provide me their service fees but their hourly rate would vary depending on the job. This isn't uncommon from what I can tell, but I like the fact that Larue was able to give me what they thought it would cost. I understand not all jobs can work like that as repairs can be more complicated and determined on site, but it was part of why I chose them. They were communicative, got the part ordered asap, and replaced it all in 2-3 days. The repair happened on a Friday, and turns out, there was a small error in replacing it. The new ice maker was just dripping water all over and freezing. I let them know this on a Saturday and, despite being closed, responded that they would have to come back out. They responded to several texts about what to do in the meantime to stop the water from building up any more (again while they were closed on a weekend). They were, unfortunately, swamped all day Monday with emergency calls from the weekend. As much as I wanted my machine repaired, I would not classify it as an emergency either. They were able to come out on Tuesday and get it all fixed up though. The final bill was just a little cheaper that what they previously estimated, which was nice. The final bill was also about significantly cheaper than the last repair I had on this freezer. I am going to call Larue first if I ever have an appliance repair need again (which I am sure is a matter of "when" not "if"). The gentleman who did the repairs also took a little time to give my cats and dogs a little attention to let them know he was a safe visitor, which was very nice to see as well.
