But what amazed me is the security guard had blinds down and was knocked out sleeping during the day. They have family children that stop at these rest areas and if they say security is on the premises then they should be out of there shed patrolling the ground and being seen not sleeping on duty. I was here for over an hour and he stayed sound asleep the whole time never came out the security shed. Mississippi do better get better security or you will have a lawsuit on your hands.

I have a 5th wheel camper that had been in a location far away from this campground, in Dover Delaware. Scott was very knowledgeable and kind enough to help me find a company that would be willing to tow my camper here to Bayou Creek Rv Park in Louisiana! My 5th wheel was delivered safely while i was attending my daughters high school graduation in Wisconsin. Upon my arrival back to the campground, Scott and Tracey had my camper all set up in an AMAZING location and had provided me with a cleaning gal to make my stored 5th wheel feel like home when i arrived! I highly recommend this Campground to all my coworkers looking for a weekender or long term stay as is the case for myself. It is very cozy and the people here are all very friendly. The above ground pool and social area located on site is fantastic! Scott and Tracey are great hosts with big hearts. They have helped me with recommendations on places to visit, eat, and even helped me get items ordered i needed to make my camper complete. Genuine people!

If your definition of quaint is a matress that feels like it's fifty years old (seriously, I could feel the coils) scratchy sheets, an ac unit that blew black stuff everywhere (what the eff?!?) and last but not least, the toilet that overflowed flooding the entire room when I went to pee and made the god awful decision to flush. At 2am. Water everywhere. I went to a bed and breakfast to get away from cleaning up at 2am. You parents will understand I'm sure. The owner doesn't live onsite and although he was a sweet guy I'd never stay here again.

Before we even entered the property, I felt like we were treated as though we were expected to break the rules rather than welcomed as visitors. The staff member repeatedly emphasized that the grounds were over 200 years old, told us that two park rangers would be on duty watching photographers, and said that if we set anything on the ground we could be fined $500. I was carrying a small handheld USB fan simply to stay cool in the Louisiana heat and was told I couldn't bring it. After reviewing the written photography policy, I couldn't find any rule prohibiting a personal handheld fan. During the conversation, I was also told there were cameras throughout the property, reminded that no makeup or hair could be done in the restrooms, and then told, "I'm not charging you a photographer fee." By that point, the interaction felt more like a series of warnings and threats than a welcoming orientation. I completely understand that historic properties need rules, and I had every intention of respecting them. My issue isn't with having rules--it's with how they were communicated. There is a respectful way to explain expectations without making visitors feel like they're under suspicion before they've done anything wrong. After two visits with similar experiences, I left feeling unwelcome both times. I hope management takes a serious look at how staff interact with visitors because customer service matters just as much as preserving the property.
