Yesterday I called for a tire change because someone slashed my tire. They told me up to an hour & when I called at the hour mark they told me 2 1/2 hours. For AAA plus that is OBSURD. A Good Samaritan helped me way before AAA did. Today my car died on my lunch break from work. I called around 1:30 & was told within the hour. When I called at the hour mark they said another hour. Then I checked the status at the 45 min mark & it said another hour. I called my insurance company & they got out a tow truck sooner. I tried cancelling online but it wouldn't let me select an option. This is the WORST service I have received in my 40+ years of driving. I am DISGUSTED at the service from the people who answered the phones to the communication via text to the online when trying to cancel this. I will be BLASTING this all over every social media I can. AAA SUCKS ASS. read more

I've been a member of AAA since 1991. I had the membership with my parents in high school and college, and for another 15 years on my own. I didn't renew for one year because I didn't think I needed it with a new car. But I paid for my membership in 1991, with my husband, and we've been renewing every year since 1991. AAA is more than road side assistance and towing. It's about travel discounts, vacation books chock full of information about the places you're visiting & discounts for area attractions. It's about cruising, tours, planes and trains. When I got locked out of my car, AAA was there to help. When I needed a tow for a dead battery, they helped me. I've used it recently for a trip to Yellowstone, and another trip to NYC. We haven't used their services for a cruise lately, but when we do, Terri Murphy is who we see. We also got our complimentary passport pictures here when our passports were up for renewal. I think that was with the Premiere membership, tho. We like this location for the quality personnel who staff it. I just renewed our membership today for another year! read more

Aaa premier is a complete waste of $$$.....road service is terrible!!!!!! They left me on the roadside on 275 in Tampa .....it was two fat useless guys that showed up for my call in a mini van only to tell me they didn't have tools or equipment to help me...second time I called for a tow on one of my employees car they just never showed up or called..would highly not recommend !!!!! read more

I have been a member of AAA as long as I have been driving. In the past if I needed AAA and my membership has lapsed I called and they renewed my membership on the spot. My membership card says Valid thru September 1 2025. I called because my car needs to be towed to a local auto shop. I was told my membership expired in 2022. Then they told me that the valid thru date is sent out 3 years in advance but you need to renew membership every year. I accepted that which is a big problem but then I asked to sign up now. I was told that would not be a problem it's $70 for my membership but if I want service today there would be a $60 additional charge or I could wait 3 days for service. First my card said Valid until September next year, then I cannot get my car taken care of today unless I pay almost double the membership chare. I use to love AAA but this experience has caused me to rethink membership. read more

My mom purchased a battery through AAA's roadside assistance on 4/20/21. It came with a 3-year warranty. On 10/16/23, our mechanic told us the battery was failing and needed to be replaced. We called AAA thinking they would honor their warranty. We waited an hour and a half for the technician to arrive. As soon as he did, he asked to see the paperwork and noticed the mileage was not noted on the paperwork. He then proceeded to tell us that the warranty was void because my mom hadn't driven the car enough. Nowhere on the receipt where the warranty exceptions are listed is there a part about minimum or maximum mileage voiding the warranty. When I pointed out they had no idea how much she drove it due to the paperwork missing the mileage, they said we could file a complaint, but it would take weeks before anyone would contact us. We paid $137 for the original battery in 2021, but now they wanted us to pay $235 for a new battery. I told them to start the complaint paperwork regarding the warranty and that we would buy the battery somewhere else where the warranty would be honored. I ended up buying a battery from Costco for $120. I installed it myself, but that was easy and took 10 minutes (this was my first time changing a battery). I checked online, and there are tons of reddits where people say AAA refused to honor the warranty for not driving enough. I've also been talking to everyone I know about this, and AAA told my nephew that he drove the car too much. Apparently, they are refusing to honor the warranty from both angles. I've been a AAA member for 20 years. My mom and dad started their membership in the 80s. After this experience, I'm seriously thinking about finding a new service for roadside, home insurance and car insurance. I will never buy a battery from them ever again! ***EDIT***After a month, Yolanda from AAA reached out regarding the complaint I filed with the agent on 10/16. She had me submit proof from our mechanic that the battery was failing, the original AAA receipt from 4/20/21 and my receipt from Costco for the replacement battery. After reviewing these documents, she honored the warranty and agreed to reimburse my mom for the cost of the new battery. I'm glad they finally honored their warranty, but we shouldn't have to jump through this many hoops to have a warranty honored. Additionally, while talking to Yolanda, I was given the notes from the towing company regarding my interaction with them on 10/16. It was all lies. They claimed that they told me the battery needed to be charged and retested. They never said that. Plus, they had time to do it while I argued with AAA on the phone and they stood there. All and all, I'm glad my mom got her warranty honored, but I won't be increasing my star rating because this whole interaction was frustrating. I stand by my original assessment that no one should buy a battery from AAA. read more

Waited two days for a tow and just kept getting excuses when calling. They left me stuck! Poor service!!!!

I would give their insurance division minus 5 stars if I could . Great when selling us policies , but rude , unhelpful and actually responsible for our insurance lapsing and the consequences that went along with it . Disgusting unethical human beings . I wouldn't use them again if they were the only insurance agents in Florida . I would move first !!! read more

In spite of the Governor's EO voiding mask mandates and the fact that the Pinellas County Ordinance specifically exempts those individuals with a medical issue from wearing a useless mask, the uninformed and unprofeasional employees refused to accomodate my handicap. I'm super excited about my up coming trip to the UK. I had a few questions about currency and honestly, I didn't know where to get the answers, so I headed up to AAA And asked. In the past, they were the ones I used to get Amex Travelers Checks from, but they no longer handle them, instead, they offer a pre-paid credit Card, so I selected that option. Trying to transfer my membership from Northern New England to Florida...Fl says NNE has me paid if full...I ask them to check with NNE as I know that I hadn't paid them. Person at AAA Palm Harbor said only a REP could do that (who was on vaca)...and than no one in the BLDG could check on that for me. Expected me to leave and come back when the ONLY rep was in the office ...BULLSHIT...UNACCEPTABLE. POOR Customer Service!!!! Also still expecting to hear back from AAA home ins rep as to the whereabouts of a $1,000.00 refund I am due do to Citizens error...Been three weeks...NOTHING...Was told to deal with it myself....again UNACCEPTABLE..POOR Customer serviced. Alert, Do not purchase the road service. If you already have road service with AAA, do not purchase their batteries. AAA does not directly honor their warranties. 3 month old battery failed. Just booked a trip with Trafalgar for 2015, England, Ireland and Scotland. Marta Velna has been instrumental in assisting us and looking for ways to save money. She is always cheerful, extremely helpful, attentive and very detail oriented. We leave on 8/24 for a Uniworld River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam and Marta helped us set this trip up about a year ago. Our plans were to leave early and spend a couple days in Budapest and then a couple days in Amsterdam after the cruise. Uniworld's fees for the extensions were high but Marta found a way for us to add this to our itinerary with a considerable savings. Had a good agent who retired. Next agent I used treated me as if she was doing me a favor underwriting my business. Three homes, auto and flood. Received a letter from one carrier who required things be done to the property. I went to the agent who said, I guess you're not making any changes and will be dropped. " I said, " no, " I did two of the four things the other two made no sense, cut back a tree that over hangs the house, the tree was twenty feet away from house and took pictures for agent. Also stated roof had issues, I gave her the four points inspection and pictures to prove otherwise. She did nothing with the documents, so they dropped me. I then went to royal insurance in palm harbor who worked with the insurance company who after sending someone out agreed there were no issues and reinstated me. Needless to say, I moved all my business to drew Scott at royal insurance. He listens, is honest and works hard to ensure your needs are met. read more

Dropped in last week hoping to ask my insurance agent Liz a quick question about my auto policy. Even though she was told I was waiting and had no one @ her desk and was not on the phone, she refused to acknowledge me. Her desk is positioned so that She sits with her back to the waiting area and she never even turned around even when Jean announced my name. One of the other agents I think felt sorry for me, so asked if he could help. I had received a letter from their HQ stating there was form needed in conjunction to my policy that was missing and needed to be signed. I also wanted to follow up as she had said @ my 6 month policy mark she would do a comparison shop for me to make sure I was still getting the best rate, which never happened. I have dealt with office since the late 90's, but was very disappointed with this lack of customer service. I was made to feel that I was an intrusion - not good. read more

AAA-Palm Harbor should close its doors (with the exception of Roadside Service). The staff inside the building on US-19 should be absolutely ashamed. The Greeter is surly, unhelpful and has absolutely no clue about any of AAA's staff or services. She hides behind the desk in sheer fear that she may have to do anything other than to direct someone to sit down or stand in line. The cash register attendant, who thoroughly revels in having people wait in line for her, has a horrible, "can't do" attitude. She has no insight, at all, into available amusement park deals and, moreover, I had to walk her through steps on how to add my email address to my account, using my membership card; an operation about which she seemed completely baffled and angry. She delighted in advising me that there was "a" special about four months ago, but there is nothing now that the parks "allow her" to sell; she was absolutely devoid of use. I worked in the hospitality industry for more than ten years; this AAA location should be closed and/or the entire staff re-trained and the set-up re-worked. I had also had less than favorable experiences, prior to my recent visit, with the "Travel Agents" -- though I use the title loosely. These people are not at all well-traveled, there was only one person whom I believe was the Supervisor who had any kind of first-hand travel experience. This AAA location is antiquated and useless. I am floored at why AAA sent me a request to submit an online review; wonders never cease. I have been a AAA member for more than 25 years, in eight different cities/areas around the USA; this AAA office is, by far, the poorest on numerous levels (again, not including Roadside Service).
