I ve had my personal…read moreaccounts and my businesses with the same agency in Monroe for the past 16 years and because of how poorly a minor claim was handled, decided to shop around. A few weeks or so back I went in hoping to see the same gentlemen that I met but instead was greeted by a young girl who was slumped over her computer looking less than thrilled to see me come in (perhaps because it was near closing time)? She appeared to be the only one in the office, so instead of letting it be a wasted trip decided to at least get an idea of an auto rate. She took my information and went back to her desk. As she asked me further personal questions her demeanor was one of boredom and dare I say annoyance. I know this because I have a teen daughter around her age, so I m quite an expert on this matter. Her response to a question I had was HUH ? When I repeated myself she said yea, I know . Her mood became quite pleasant, however, when she thought there was a chance I might be purchasing the policy. I told this story of my experience at a recent holiday gathering because a discussion was sparked about customer service and how businesses have forgotten how important it is. I don t like to discuss business with someone who is so young, but even more so someone who is so condascending. I will add that my father in law was insured with Boss up until his death and was very pleased with the agency.

I had car insurance through here from 2005-2013 and renter's insurance for a brief time too. The…read morebiggest pro is that it's a local office, easily accessible, and professionally staffed. If you just walked in there or called them, you would always get the info and help you need. In 2005, my driving record was abysmal, but I still got what I thought was cheap full coverage insurance on my 2000 Ford Focus. After 2012, despite being older with a now clean record, my insurance continued to go up and up for the same car and coverage. In the course of one policy renewal, my insurance went from bimonthly $160 to $210 with no explanation. Aside from the occasional tow, I never once made a claim for an accident or anything else, and my record remained clean. I attempted to drop full coverage, but that would've only saved me around $15 a month. So, $90 a month for minimum insurance on a 13 year old car? I got quoted from another local company for $55 a month, and there I went. Right before I left, they recently instituted an unannounced $25 fee for late payments. Prior, there was no late fee policy, which was kind of nice. My payment was due on a holiday Monday, and I mailed it in on the previous Wednesday. Well, they didn't receive it until the next Tuesday, and they promptly charged me $25 with a cancellation threat already on its way to my mailbox. The charge wasn't removed when I called to complain. Their office was closed on my due date, but they still slapped me with a late fee. Some customer service for an 8-year member.

I haven't lived in Monroe for 8 years but still use it because of the caring staff that always answers my questions. I just wish they had some weekend hours since I am still working and only get to Monroe one Saturday a month.
