Two days following the install of a $1522.97 radiator in my 2016 Ford F150 King Ranch I experienced severe bogging down at full throttle, along with the transmission's inability to upshift when held at full throttle. When I ask about it, the service manager said there was nothing they could've done that would have created such an issue. Two to three months back-and-forth with the transmission shop with no solution. Finally to Fairway Ford, where they discovered two plastic buttons had been left out of the air intake snorkel allowing it to choke off the intake air at full throttle. In the end I was without the use of my truck for months, while accruing over $600 in expenses to ferret out the problem. When I approached the service manager about the resolution all he had to offer was "I hate that happened to you" and quickly turned back to his computer. I called AAA for a tow yesterday at 9:30AM. The On Hold message suggested that I request the tow on line rather than waiting on hold, so I did that. I soon received a text confirmation that AAA had my request. An hour later, I received a robo call advising that my request was delayed due to "high demand". An hour after that I received the same robo-call with the same message. Finally, at 7:30PM I received a call from a towing company advising they could complete the tow at 9:30 last night. When I asked the towing company about the delay they said they had only received the request from AAA at 7:00PM... A call today to AAA customer service was met with a yawn - not so much as an apology. Their only "offer" was to send a notice "up the chain" and that's it. A call to the local office where I purchased my membership led me to a manager who said in essence "not my job, but I hear a lot of complaints about our towing issues - call the customer service # on the back of your card". AAA is a huge company with a well regarded brand. That brand has been tarnished to the point that I see no benefit in keeping my membership any longer as the value just is not there. This is a small example of how "good companies" become failures - and it doesn't take long unless management decisively acts and causes real improvement. read more

Would have given lower than 1 if allowed. When I called they assured us that they could get us in and out very quickly as I had a 4:30 Dr appointment 11 minutes away. Our appointment was for 3:15 and we arrived early. Our car continued to sit there. We finally told them we had to leave. They were not nice about it at all. It was a simple nail in tire repair. In September this business offered to provide an oil and filter change for free to make up for the poor service I had received. I made an appointment for 9:30 this morning, and the person told me it would take about 30 minutes and asked if I would wait for the car or leave it with them. Based on the estimate I let her know that I would wait for the car. When I arrived at the shop this morning the person behind the desk asked if I would be waiting, and I let him know, again, that is what I had planned. He then told me he was down 2 men and it would be at least a 90 minute wait. So, my choice was to wait 90 minutes, which I could not do, or reschedule the appointment. Given the fact that this was the second time they would keep me waiting an inordinate amount of time, I chose to leave and do no plan to return. What could they have done differently? They had my phone number and knew in advance that I was planning to wait. Rather than call me to let me know there would be a delay, they waited until I showed up to break the bad news. This was a waste of more than an hour for me. Based on my two experiences with this shop, it is apparent customer service is not their strong suit. My time, and any customer's time, is worth more than they seem to recognize. I have yet to get the car back to the actual shop so I cannot comment on their quality of mechanical service. read more

I would give then zero stars if I could! Do not have you vehicle services here. They are crooked! I made an appointment for a transmission flush and when I came in they made excuses to not perform the work. Come to find out they did not order the required fluid required to do the work and than said it would be an extra cost, now $350 to rush the item in for the next day! A lot of workers standing around not doing anything also. This place should be shutdown for its business practices. Not what you would expect from AAA at all. Highly disappointed. I have always used this location with excellent results until today. All the people who usually gave such good service were gone and they were training almost everyone new. But, being new was not the problem. I made a 7:30 AM appointment and was early. I came through the door at 7:25 AM. It was not a new person who waited on me, but a veteran. I gave her my information. She finally put my folder into the hopper for service at 8:05 AM. I noted this because she called out to the back my car made and what was needed. I finally got out of there at 10:00. All I needed was an oil change and check my air conditioner. Geez, if this continues I will re-evaluate my love for being a member of AAA. read more

Terrible! I went to this car care location for a simple battery change. They admittedly damaged the radiator during the battery swap. Although the Regional Manager was professional and empathetic, Mr. Campbell, the shop manager was impossible. AAA took responsibility for the damage but Mr. Campbell made it difficult to get payment for reimbursement. I felt humiliated by the whole experience. The only action I could get from the smug manager was when I was angry and loud. There was no part in this repair accident that was my fault but he treated me like I was trying to get something for nothing. After 27 years with AAA and nothing but stellar service, this experience has left me so upset I will not be renewing my policy. Nor will my 2 grown children, nor will both sisters and their families. Had not been worked in or even looked at. When I inquired they apologized and said was backed up. I indicated they should have told me when I arrived No excuses. Recieved coupon for discount priced oil change & drove the 48 miles to Greenville. The filter was installed incorrectly or otherwise flawed & on the drive home the oil light came on. As the sun sets my wife calls AAA who tells her to just drive back to the shop. She made it a mile or so before the engine light came on and the car stopped & would no longer run. Calling AAA again they told her they'd send a tow truck. The tow truck can't transport my wife & kids so I drive 45 miles to pick them up on the side of I-26. By the time we get to AAA they are long gone. Later in the week they call to say they replaced the oil & filter again & we could make another 48 mile round trip to retrieve our car. Of course over the next few days about a quart of the spilled oil continued to drip from the car into our garage. 1. Have your oil changed near your home. 2. Go to someone you've used before & trust. 3. Use AAA Greenville at your on risk. We won't be going back. read more

Last year I estimate that she saved me over $400 than my previous insurer, The General. And this year she saved me an additional $300 compared to USAA. Had a set of 4 tires installed on my Highlander here. Very courteous and conscientious. Had asked to have the original spare tire which was on the vehicle at the time to be put back in the spare cargo space. I even pulled the other spare out for them and had it in the back waiting to be replaced. Work order had the instructions written up to do so but installer missed it when he did the work. I called them when I got home from work and the manager was able to retrieve the tire and made arrangements to have it put back on the spare rim the next day. Very apologetic and made it right as soon as he could. Even gave me discount off the alignment work that I was not expecting. Would recommend them again for their interest in trying to take care of the customer. read more

I am new the area and felt AAA might be reputable. After all, I pay a handsome fee for plus benefits. I recieved a coupon for an oil change in a AAA email and thought I would give them a try. I did get the oil change at the offered price but they overcharged me on the charge for an air filter they also placed (about twice the going cost.) Additionally, they suggested several over priced repairs ( cleaning battery terminals-20-30 dollars). You can do it yourself for a few cents with an old toothbrush and some baking soda. They said I needed motor mounts-a job they said would cost 1200 and take 10 hours of labor. I told them I would get a second opinion on that suggested repair. Turns out I did need a 1 motor mount which was completed by an honest mechanic in less than 3 hours for a cost under 150. I placed a complaint with AAA customer service and the manager called me back this morning which was the right thing to do. read more

My in laws who are senior citizens (my father in law is disabled) had car trouble while traveling through Greenville for the Christmas holidays. They were at first towed to Dick Smith Hyundai had it checked out and they found "lots of things" wrong with the car and were told it would take over a $1,000 worth of work. My father in law had been a service writer and worked in the automotive industry for 26 years knew they were lying. Since they seem to a shady dealership with no morals or values their car was then towed to triple AAA. Strongly believe that a mechanic at the dealership damaged one of the car parts they had tried to sell us but have no proof. By the time AAA got the car they car part had to be replaced. We had to drive 9 hours round trip to pick it up we found that the car ran great and they lived up to their work. I love being a AAA member. So many benefits. Well, I received a coupon in the mail for $17.95 oil change. I got online and set up an appointment as they requested. I received my confirmation for the appointment. This was my first visit to this location and I've been a AAA member for years. I went in and and told them I had an appointment at 11. She ask me if I wanted the free tire rotation and battery check. I said yes. They had me fill out a form, took my car key and she told me where the waiting room and bathrooms were. An hour went by and my car was still where I parked it. Another lady came in and left before mine was even taken back. I think to myself, why was it necessary to make an appointment if it's going to be at another time. I went to the desk and ask when were they going to get to my car. A lady said they only had 2 technicians and then another man standing there grabbed my chart and went to the garage. I told the lady my appointment was at 11 and it is now 12. The man came back and said they were getting my car now. I ask how long will it take and he said 30 - 45 minutes. An hour later it was done. I went up to pay and the man said it is $23.36. I thought to myself that seems high for taxes on $17.95. When I got home and looked at my paperwork they didn't use the coupon of $17.95 I gave to them. Arrrg..... The man at the counter did thanks for your patience. It is just frustrating. I also see no where on this paperwork that my tires were rotated. But everything else is there. I still love AAA, I just had a bad experience here. If they knew they were short of workers, why didn't they call me and reschedule. Then they would of had a very happy customer. I too had an oil change coupon and was able to schedule an appointment and get it done on the weekend. They offered to change my air filter as well, but a quick price check from local parts store showed that the price they were going to charge me was considerably more than what it would cost to do it myself. This is typical for many of the quick service type of chains around. Had no issues with the oil change itself and was out within an hour. While I waited I was able to purchase discount tickets and got my passport photos done. Only negative was when the service technician removed the old oil change reminder, he just left it in the center console cup holder. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation the other day. Before I went, I labeled each tire with a sharpie. When my car was ready I paid my bill and was given a diagnostic sheet/write up of all the services performed on my car. They marked off that the tires were rotated and charged me $25.00. I checked out my car before leaving the shop and the tires HAD NOT been rotated. I went inside and asked them what they thought rotated meant. The attendant made up a lame excuse that the service guy didn't know that i had requested that service. I then asked if he didn't know... why did he write on the sheet that he completed that service... and why was i charged? I then had to wait 30 more minutes. Very disappointed. I thought the one place I could trust was AAA. I don't think i will be going back or renewing my membership or my families. read more
