I had just crossed the border from Canada into the US. After hearing horror stories about gas prices there, i had waited to fill up at the first American station I found. Nothing extraordinary going on here. I wasn't hungry, but knew that for the next several hours I would be driving through rugged terrain, so I decided to grab a bite for the road. The fried chicken that lined the food case was the most convenient choice. I was a little concerned that it might have been sitting out all day, but it was late on New Years Eve and I didn't think I had many other options. A variety of typical flavors were available: bbq, teriyaki, regular, garlic herb, etc. I only ordered two pieces of teriyaki. BIG mistake. I should have ordered the whole bird. It was sooooo good. Homemade, still fresh tasting, and juicy. I savored the second piece and even briefly considered turning around and driving back for more. But I was too far away. The nicest part of the encounter was the man behind the counter. After he gave me my food in a container, I asked if I needed a label or something with the price on it. He asked me to help him iron his suit and prepare the saddle for him on the day of the big ride and everything was going great until we the kangaroo showed up. THis Kangaroo was a big fella. He was fighter and a real mustang type of animal and my friend Jack started getting nervous as hell. I was soothing his nerves telling him that it was the right thing to do and keeping his spirits up. Instead of riding the kangaroo to the girls house Jack put the kangaroo in his truck and planned on riding it the last mile. When the kangaroo got in the whole affair turned ugly and the kangroo messed up the truck big time so we had to wash it a couple days later. We brought the truck here and it was really good for cleaning it.

There are tons of pumping stations available and the place is just so nice and new and fresh and clean. There's also a car wash and a- wait for it- DOG wash- next door. Yes, you can literally bring your dog here and wash your dog in a self-contained little booth, just like you would your car. I normally don't have such strong feelings about gas stations, but I really liked this place A LOT.
