Suffice it to say that I've been a solid customer and supporter of this local business for well over 10 years. I just recently noticed there weren't many reviews here, and I thought my input might help other customers in their effort to find a local & fair company to do business with. Their product selection is tremendous and if they don't have what you're looking for; they will be happy to order it for you, and rest assured it will be timely ordered & fairly priced. I would say that 95% of my transactions have been purchased, and the rest would be trading (one metal for another). When trading, understand there are two sides of the transaction that a dealer makes their money on (the premium). This premium is charged by every coin & bullion dealer (online or local) and this is how they pay staff, security & their overhead. Each dealer has the right to charge whatever they want, although the industry stays close to one another, so compare pricing. As far as their staff, well, since I've been to so many LCS's over the years in different states; I will say, the "family" at Scotsman is second to none! Whether you deal with Clay, Robert, Stacy, Mark, Casimir, Charlie, Frank or Jordan (sorry to have missed anyone) - rest assured they are funny, friendly, professional and very well educated! For me, it's always a pleasure to come here and regardless of the wait, and I'm not saying there is one always, but there are times that are busier than others....its always an enjoyable experience. Whether you're well experienced or brand new - all of these team members are very well educated and are always willing to help answer any questions. I have brought MANY dear friends and colleagues here to introduce them to this amazing company and they will always be my go to shop! So to the entire team, thank you for caring about what you do, and for whom you do it! I hope everyone has the great experience that I do every time I go in!

I can also attest that using my debit card in foreign countries was painless, with no outrageous conversion fees. Another positive, for me, is the Thursday and Friday hours - they're open later, but do close earlier during the rest of the week. All in all they've been good enough that I haven't looked at joining another bank or credit union.

The people that I've worked with have known me by name when I walk in the door. However, since the merger has taken place, I haven't seen as much incompetency in a business anywhere else in my life. I tried to make a simple transaction of a loan payment after mistakingly paying a few bills after writing a check that I had forgotten about. My reserve line had covered this, and I merely went in to make the loan payment from my savings account. From that point, it took me almost a week to get this transaction resolved. I had gotten errors through the online app, so called the branch to have the payment made for me, and was met with so much confusion and incompetency for such a simple transaction.. by the end of the call, I was very frustrated, but assured that the loan payment was made and I would incur zero interest. However, upon checking a couple days later, I witnessed that the payment had not been made, and in fact a transfer had been put into my checking account. When I called back, I was again met with much confusion and the banker even attempted to try to close my overdraft protection account all together and leave me unprotected. Why on earth? Would anybody suggest this? I may need to take my banking somewhere else as I am now fearful for the safety of my accounts at this bank.

Leah is extremely knowledgable but also easy to talk to and relatable. Financial planning is important to me but it is outside of my wheel house so it was wonderful to have someone that could explain things in a way that I understood and be patient when I had questions. Leah provided excellent customer service, appropriately followed up with me in a timely manner, made me feel important, and kept me posted on where my application process for things like disability insurance was at. I feel very secure knowing Leah is the one helping me with my financial planning endeavors. Highly recommend her!
