I left the valley around 8am and it took me about 35 mins to make it to East LA. They opened at 8:30 and when I arrived there were already people waiting. The setup is you walk up and take a menu. Once you make your selections you turn in your order and they begin to prep it for you. Now what's really cool is as we were waiting they were constantly bringing out new products not on the menu and even dropped prices on some of the items already out. A guy brought out a case of grass fed ribeyes for $6/each. I got several Australian wagyu steaks for I believe $10/each and I'm talking 10-12oz. It's been a long time since I've walked away feeling like I got a steal of a deal on anything in LA but this was amazing. Since this is on 4th of July my theory is they purchased cheaper meat due to the high demand. My guests ask where I get this meat so they will never buy from here. One of the reasons we've continued to support this business is because they normally have high standards, so this experience was unexpected. I've bought meat from them quite a few times now, and the quality has always been excellent. If you're into Wagyu, they have a great selection ranging from A3 all the way to A5, so there's something for every budget. If you catch them at the Sunday farmers market, ask to see their bargain box. You can usually find some really good cuts at great prices. They also have some of the best prices I've seen on items like A5 Miyazaki ribeyes. If you can't make it to the farmers market, they also offer local pickup and can ship directly to you, which makes it really convenient. Huge shoutout to Josh as well.
