I originally appreciated Anthony's knowledge and service--until it came time to return leftover pavers from a walkway project. After being told over the phone that I could return the excess with my receipt, I loaded 300 pounds of materials into my car. When I arrived, however, Anthony was unexpectedly rude and refused the return, citing a policy about needing a "complete pattern"--something no one explained to me beforehand. Frustrated but civil, I managed to return only the edging stones for $48.11, but instead of refunding the amount to my card, they *charged* me again. When I returned to resolve the issue, I was met with sarcasm: "That's how Harkins makes money." Not funny when you've already spent time, effort, and trust in a local business. Harkins may have quality materials, but the lack of clear communication and professionalism turned what should've been a simple transaction into a frustrating ordeal. Be cautious in your dealings with them.

On a random Saturday we decided to take a drive out and explore the place, and hopefully find some gifts for Christmas. Revay's is a combination nursery and gift shop. We didn't fully explore the nursery since we weren't shopping for plants, but it appeared to be well-labeled and orderly, containing a number of options for outdoor planting or indoor plants. The gift shop was large, with a number of crafts and gift options. Since it is holiday time, a good number of the items were holiday-related (such as Christmas decorations and ornaments). There was an area with some train sets that looked neat, and a number of glass/ceramic items if you collect them. The staff was very friendly and polite, and helpful when we had questions regarding pricing. They were also efficient in getting us checked out and moving on to the next customer. Overall it was a pleasant experience, and we will likely be back in the future. (One note - while they do accept credit cards, they do NOT accept American Express).

They last so much longer than other ones I have purchased from local plant places. I'm attaching photos. Every time I look out and see my flowers, I am happy! My first time in I was surprised that the prices were not at the usual "we are in the Farmington Valley so lets screw them" levels. I was also really surprised how many of the customers they knew by name. Nothing speaks as well of a business as having such long term customers that you know many on a first name basis. I big plus for me is that they have a large selection organic gardening supplies. More than anyone in the area and at fair prices. (Not to get off track but if you vegetable garden you get better yields and quality if you go organic. I made the switch several years ago and haven't looked back.) Bidwell's also has that true garden center atmosphere. Garden stuff, fireplace stuff, bird stuff, and even a friendly cat that sleeps in the box of peat pots. In short, a good friendly place that may just have that odd yard, garden, or pet thing you are looking for at OK prices.

I asked him if he could help me. I told him I was looking for a specific plant. He takes his hand and he waves his hand to all the plants in the nursery. It's like I bothered him. What a wise guy! I should've called him on his behavior, but I let it go. Then I asked him where the wisteria was. He was working close to the Wisteria so then he pointed to it. He needs an attitude adjustment. He was very rude. I don't know if I'm gonna go back to the garden barn and I've been going there for years. I hope not all of your employees are like this.

I was immediately blown away by the variety of different plants and flowers Larson's had to offer. A worker was able to quickly put together flowers for me that she thought would both look good and thrive in a window box based off of the size and amount of sunlight. The window box looks great now and I can't wait to see how it progresses during the summer!! They also have a reward program that I can't wait to take advantage of...for every $10 you spend you obtain $1 in credit that you get to spend at different times throughout the year. I'll definitely be coming back during the summer for all of my planting needs!!!
