I chatted with Robbie and told him I was looking for natural highlights and face framing layers. The process went well until it was time to style and blow out my hair. I have thick, textured, curly hair and he first went in on my damp hair and finger combed it which was not only painful but it also made my hair super frizzy. He then was combing it with a small tooth comb which again on my texture was very painful and I could feel was ripping a lot of hair out. He then went into blow drying my hair without a brush and once again... made my hair even more frizzy. Finally he went in with a blow dryer and a brush and when I tell you this was the worst blow out I've ever gotten I mean it. My hair was still damp at the end and it was extremely frizzy! After looking in the mirror it looked okay ... I liked the cut but the highlights were brighter than I expected since I wanted warm, natural highlights. I was too embarrassed to say I didn't think they were very natural. I ended up going home and seeing myself in the mirror with better lighting and full on started bawling because it looked terrible. The highlights weren't natural at all, they were more orange than brown and very obvious stripes in my hair. There was no transition in my root and it literally was like 2000s box highlights. The color was even more orange after my first wash and again did not look natural at all. I was extremely disappointed and I felt so ugly. My hair is one of the only things I really liked about myself and I feel like it was ruined. I now have to pay double for a color correction somewhere else. The whole experience was low key traumatic because of the pain during the appointment and then the pain after because of how ugly it came out. Edit: Following my negative feedback Nick was kind enough to reach out and offer adjustments to my service which I really appreciated. Considering their consistent kindness and willingness to help, I think it's worthwhile to edit my review and add a few stars to their business. I've actually never received such accommodation and I really appreciate that.

When I arrived to my appointment, it was nice to see such a large salon with many stylists. Thank you Tenzin for cleaning up my long layers. Feels much better without the dead ends. I also appreciate the gentle wash/condition, warm blow out, and cutesy curl :) I certainly walked out of the salon with a pep in my step!

I'm so sorry haha but she was great, we bonded a lot and had a lot of similar interests. She gave me a lot of tips on my hair, recommended a lot of products (in store and out) but didn't pressure me to buy anything. She did great on my cut, trimmed it just perfectly and adjusted my shape so it wasn't as V shape. All the tips she gave me helped a lot in the past 2 months and my hair has felt a lot healthier. I moved to SLC a year ago and have been looking for my hairstylist and I know I found her finally! Where I moved from, I had been going to the same stylist for almost 10 years. So the new stylist had big shoes to fill. Rylie is kind, understanding, and listens without getting frustrated. I know I can be a bit difficult when it comes to my hair because my old hairstylist had known me for so long she knew exactly what to do. Seeing a new hairstylist can be difficult because the color is a different brand, the toners are different, etc. etc. Rylie has been nothing but understanding with me and listened to my "let's try this" etc. And we finally got to a PERFECT color! She is amazing and does a great job! The salon itself is super cute and parking is very easy. They often have great deals on hair products and have a good selection. Prices are great as well.

At the bottom it was lighter because of some hair lightening spray I put in over the summer. I had very little style and shape to my hair and it was sort of dull and lifeless. I showed Katie a picture of what I wanted and she was extremely upfront with me about my hair color and how it would require at least two sessions to achieve the look I wanted. So part 1 was balayage to give me a new lighter base color. Then, a few weeks later, I came back for highlights and foils to achieve the lighter pops of blonde I wanted. She toned it down to remove some warmth and by the end of the second session I was so thrilled and loved the color. You have to be patient! You can't go in with dark espresso hair and expect to come out looking like a blonde/bronde bombshell. I included photos to show what it looked like after the first session. The end result is amazing. Katie really listened to me and what I wanted. She really achieved the look I was going for and also cut my hair in an awesome way to give it shape, style, and texture. Would recommend 100% I'm so in love with my hair. After years of extensions I'm so happy to finally love my own hair. As you can see from the before picture my hair was really thin and shapeless and now it looks much fuller and has a ton of body. I love it!!

I was a hair model for Gabrielle- I asked for honey blonde highlights with a trim and I left with exactly what I was looking for. She did a wonderful job addressing my concerns, answering my questions and asking questions to give me my desired look. I have very thick hair so sometimes it can take hours and hours to highlight but Gabrielle was thorough and efficient. I also enjoyed the Olaplex treatment as that helped with some of the breakage the following days after my appointment. Overall very happy with my hair and I would absolutely go back.
