Rancho Roybal Santa Fe Short Term Vacation Rental

Rancho Roybal Santa Fe Short Term Vacation Rental

My mother, dog, and I spent 5 nights at Casa Candelario, one of Rancho Roybal's vacation rental…read morehomes in Santa Fe. We could not have been happier with the home, or with the responsiveness and warmth of Michael, the owner. The house was spotlessly clean, roomy, and such a bargain compared to hotels in the area. Extensive and thoughtful remodeling has kept the soul of this older casa intact, while providing beautiful new amenities like a walk-in steam shower, jacuzzi, granite countertops, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and whole house stereo system. Best of all, were the gorgeously burnished plaster walls, so smooth and softly shiny. The house's layout offers privacy, and though my mom is a very talented snorer, we both slept well. The master bedroom is super-dreamy, with a large attached sitting room and french doors opening into a green and lovely, fully-enclosed backyard complete with gas grill and a stone-tiled outdoor dining area. Despite having so many great nearby restaurants, the welcoming draw of the backyard patio won out several evenings of our stay. And after days spent visiting pueblos and museums, we returned home with great appreciation for the Native pottery displayed throughout the open kitchen and living room. Very, very cool. Candelario's location is fabulous, with little street noise to speak of, and only a nice 12 block walk to the plaza. The Santa Fe River Park is a block and a half from the house and several grocery stores are within a couple minute's drive. Access to the main thoroughfare to Taos and the Northern Pueblos is just a few blocks away. Rancho Roybal's Casa Candelario and Casa Quintana's backyards adjoin through a gate in the tall coyote fence, so if's possible to rent both houses for a larger group. If you are traveling with an active canine family member, Santa Fe's amazing and huge Frank Ortiz off-leash dog park is a tidge over a mile from the house and has great views down over the city and so much room to hike and run. Casa Candelario was hard to leave, and I'm already looking forward to a return visit!

Caroline Morgan who runs this business is a terrible person. I rented a home from her in Santa Fe…read morewhich she showed me as a three bedroom/3 bath home. As I had rented from her before, I assumed this would be a similarly comfortable experience. The rent for 10 weeks was north of $50,000. As time grew near, I asked her whether the third bedroom would be open or if she would leave a key as my family was coming for the first week of my rental. She THEN told me that the third bedroom had to rented separately and wanted an extra $250 a night for the week my kids were going to be in town. When my family go here, we also discovered that the shower in the second guest bedroom didn't work. The shower in the master worked if you like trickle down showers. It took her THREE weeks to get both fixed and she had to bring in two plumbers and her "best in the business" plumber had to come back a second time to fix a leaking shower head in the master. To this day, a month later, it still leaks. She promised screens on the windows and then cancelled the order. She has written me the ugliest texts...all of which I have and have recorded. When I asked about some lighting for the garden (lovely but separate from the house and not a light to guide the way into the garden) she told me to use a flashlight. When I asked (for the second time) that the housekeepers bring hand soap since they take the used soap each week, she pronounced me too hard to please and left a bag of soap on my doorstep. This woman has no business in a profession where she is representing owners and dealing with the public, especially at the price point for this house. Don't use this woman or rent any of her houses....if you have a problem, she will make it your fault!

In fact, if you need another to fill a bedroom inbox me and I'm there (lol, but seriously). This place is perfect. From the moment you arrive, it's impossible to not be transported to a place of peace, tranquility and joy. Multiple decks to see the stunning views. A pool, hot tub, and sauna. A yoga room!!! Great if you already have a practice and can use facilities on your own, but we also found it was very reasonable to just hire a teacher from Santa Fe to come up for a private lesson. Hiking right outside your door. Every bedroom (plus the cabin!) is set up perfectly to make you feel like a VERY ZEN queen/king. Watch the sunrise and the sunset over the mountains, while you swing on the front swings. Eat dinner under the stars or in the formal dining room. The choices are endless at Rass Mandal. The experience of this house unlocked possibilities, I'm not even kidding! It is a ways up the mountain road-- so not for people who really wan ot be in the center of twon. But we really had no trouble getting to town when we wanted to go out and explore. Mostly though you'll want to stay in, trust me! :) Also Richard is the nicest. Very helpful and the entire process was overall easy. Enjoy your stay at Rass Mandal!!

This company has done a good job of avoiding reviews. If you Google it goes straight to their web…read morepage, so you can't really see the experiences people have had. So thank you Yelp. In trying to book a place, the response had been slow and typical for this area...no one answers the phone, or is very slow to respond with complete answers to any form of communication. To say the owner is vague in her answers to questions is an insult to vagueness. There are hidden fees in addition to the rental fee; during and after cleaning. Isn't that kind of what you're already paying for? Mandatory insurance??? Paying up front is a little iffy, unreasonable cancellation policy, but you can buy cancellation insurance from them! (another hidden fee). If you read the fine print you are agreeing to be responsible for pretty much the whole place and all it's contents, even if it was burglarized, even if the damage isn't your fault. Not sure I would give these people my credit card number. So much of Santa Fe has these temporary rentals, a few people making Santa Fe a giant transient community for profit.

MICE - we found mice had been a problem for a while based on droppings. 2. We had to walk through the 3rd bedroom to get to the 4th bedroom. (Adobe has since updated their website to reflect this.) 3. A water pipe burst in the 4th bedroom bath. We had no water for 24 hours. We mopped up water for nearly an hour before we could find the turn off valve. 4. Wi-Fi was unreliable. 5. Dish TV did not work. 6. Air flow in 4th bedroom was very poor. Most of these issues were not the fault of Adobe Destinations. They did, however, give us a 10% refund, but all of us felt this was insufficient. Note - we submitted a review to Adobe Destinations, but needless to say, they have not posted it on their website. We enjoyed Santa Fe. But, I would not ever recommend this property to anyone.

Excellent experience. We bought a new home in Santa Fe which…read morewas not completed when our home in Sonoma sold, so we needed a long-term rental. Contacted Adobe Destinations and spoke with Marilyn. Explained the situation -- that we needed place for two to three months, maybe longer. And that we had two cars. And pets. Marilyn was wonderful. While on the phone, we went to the website. She "showed" us several properties online that would meet our needs. She gave additional info about each property. We decided on a charming casita. The application and payment process was painless. Communication prior to our arrival was good. Check-in went smoothly. And the casita was indeed charming. And efficient. Many amenities like nightlights, a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and linens, a washer/dryer, cable, internet, room for two cars in the driveway, and a great "welcome" binder that told us all we needed to know. We only had one issue. One evening, the power went out on one wall, affecting the television and internet. I couldn't find a circuit breaker box in the house, and it was dark outside. And it was a Friday after hours. I called the number. The answering service took my information. Within an hour, Patrick called. He walked me through finding the circuit breaker box. I used a flashlight, as the box was around the back of the house. And fixed the problem in a minute. Elaine in the office was an angel in many ways. We couldn't be more pleased with the service and the property. I highly recommend Adobe Destinations.
