Unfortunately, the experience after booking and after the wedding became frustrating, and several important issues were never properly addressed. The first issue was with the package pricing. We only had two guests attending my mom and sister. We were told we had to book the next package tier because the smallest package did not allow guests, which cost about $200 more. During the wedding, Patty mentioned that because we only had two guests, we actually could have used the smaller package with just a small additional fee. However, when I followed up by email afterward asking about this, she denied ever saying that. That was disappointing and felt dishonest. The second major issue involved the photographer. Patti forgot to inform the photographer that we were scheduled, so the photographer arrived about 1.5 hours late. Because of this, many important pre-ceremony photos including dress photos, ring photos, and other moments getting ready had to be taken on a phone instead of professionally. We paid a significant amount for photography, so this was extremely frustrating. The delay also caused the rest of the session to feel rushed. Communication after the wedding was also poor. We were never given updates on when to expect our wedding photos, and I had to send multiple emails asking about them. I was repeatedly told the gallery had already been emailed to me, but nothing was ever received in my inbox or spam folder. It took almost two more weeks of back-and-forth before I finally received the link. Overall, while the venue itself is decent for a small wedding, the lack of communication, scheduling mistakes, and refusal to acknowledge concerns left a very negative impression. I understand that mistakes happen, but the way these issues were handled afterward is why I cannot recommend this venue. There are many better options for couples planning a smaller-budget wedding.

Every Friday night they have their house big band, and they also host weddings, etc. Parking was easy on a Friday in May, though getting off and on Sunbury can be rough if there's any traffic at all. The building has been restored and is beautiful inside. The acoustics are very good, and the house band is great. Plenty of comfy chairs and assorted sizes of tables. Sit on the main floor or the balcony. A small bar downstairs, and others around that I'm sure are used for bigger events. Photos of famous singers are scattered around, and there's a list of famous bands that have played there on one wall. There wasn't a big crowd when we went, which is good for dancing and picking a seat but worrisome when I think about how busy this place used to be. It'd be a great place for a wedding reception, anniversary party, high school graduation, etc. Maybe that's where they make most of their money. For us, $15 each for adults and $10 for kids for a night of great music.

It's been over a month since I've heard from Krystin Van Horn, the Director of Sales. I've followed up and left a voicemail message. If they don't do receptions under a certain number? Communicate that. If it's a busy season due to the holidays and the response time is slower? Communicate that. If the wedding is too far in advance and they'd rather provide a proposal closer to said date? Communicate that. The venue we chose has them down on their list of caterers that they will only use. I plan on sharing my experience with them in hopes they remove them since the venue is for small to medium sized weddings. Every wedding planning site I am on, I will be posting about this experience. It's a shame I can leave a review not based on what they actually do, but on how they don't feel I'm good enough to get around to doing what they actually do. If you have a smaller wedding/reception, I'd look elsewhere.

I planned most of my wedding with the help of my fiance's mother, but as the time grew closer, I just knew that chaos would reign unless I had someone else to assist me on that day. I didn't feel it was fair to my family and friends to expect them to coordinate details on the day of my wedding--after all, I want them to be able to relax & enjoy the day! Once I hired Lauren, she got right to work. We completed a wedding timeline together, she contacted my vendors, and she sorted out details that I wouldn't have even thought of. Before the wedding, my fiance didn't fully understand why I needed to hire ANOTHER person to help with stuff (wedding planners/coordinators aren't cheap). Didn't we already have his mother and a bunch of vendors? After the wedding, he said, "Boy, am I glad we hired Lauren. I hate to think what would've happened if we hadn't." Me too, baby, me too!--trust me when I say: peace of mind is worth every dime.
