Steve Bender absolutely smashed our wedding reception out of the park. He understood what I wanted in music and played absolute banger after banger. I couldn't sit down for more than a minute to catch my breath because the music made me stay on the dance floor! My guests had a great time. Steve had us cracking up and brought the vibes until the very last minute of our reception. Booking, communication and organization before the day were easy and breezy. I highly highly recommend booking him as your DJ. read more

Steve was incredible to work with and went above and beyond for our wedding(s). Unfortunately, we had to postpone our first wedding reception. Steve was generous enough to offer to return for our out of state make-up reception free of charge. He was fantastic from start to finish at both events. We're so glad we chose to work with Steve and will absolutely do so again if we need a DJ in the future! read more

We chose Steve Bender's company for our wedding 6 months in advance and paid in full for a discount ($695). At first, Steve was very personable and friendly. They've been in business for a long time so I felt comfortable with choosing his company as our DJ. I used the online planner for the music and that was a convenient way to organize the songs for each happening such as bouquet toss, garter, etc. I also used them for my ceremony music. Here's the scary part: I called them a week before my wedding and he had yet to chose a DJ of his to run my event. I had only met Steve up until then but not the DJ who would be playing and hosting my ENTIRE WEDDING! Keep in mind that I had to call him, he never contacted me on his own to update me. I spoke to Steve on Monday before my wedding and he informed me that they had 13 weddings within the past weekend and a bridal show. My wedding was that Friday. He also mentioned that he was running on 6 hours of sleep. Again, how is that my problem? I found that extremely unprofessional and he obviously overbooks himself. I paid in full in advance so I was sweating bullets wondering if I would even have a random DJ show up to my wedding. Luckily, all of my other vendors were fantastic and always on top of things. RJ texted me 2 days before my wedding stating that he was my DJ. He called me at 9pm that night which was on Wednesday. We went over my playlist and he said he would play a little of his own music during dinner. My wedding was at the Madison and my event planner told me that RJ asked if we were a nice couple. He never met us before then and had only spoken to me on the phone once 2 days before my event. Very strange. That goes to show you the level of planning that this company provides. Overall, the situation with Steve Bender's Company caused me a lot of stress and I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

We had the opportunity to work with RJ, he did a fabulous job! I couldn't ask for anything better, RJ and I spoke on the phone for a good 3o minutes a few days prior to the wedding and he made sure he did everything I asked him to do. I had a special version of the father/daughter dance that he made sure he used. I would recommend RJ! read more

We just had our wedding last night and I couldn't wait to write this review about Steve! What an incredible night and amazing DJ. The planning process was so easy and working with him was so effortless and fun. His website was very user friendly and easy to use and Steve was great to work with from planning the music that I'd go down the aisle to what music played during dinner and throughout the night. I had so many people tell me they'd never seen that many people dance at a wedding before and I know it was because of all the great music Steve played. He took requests, played the songs we loved, didn't play the stuff we hated and kept the vibes up all night. But the absolute best part was the very last song of the night. Steve organized for all of our remaining guests to get into a circle around us and sway while we danced to piano man in the middle. As huge Billy Joel fans that was such a fun moment and such a special memory we get to have! Thank you so much Steve for everything and anyone reading this review - hire him for your next event!! read more

Steve is wonderful to work with. He is very professional and you can tell her knows his stuff. He walks you through every detail and ensures everything will run smoothly. Our specific DJ, Bobby, is why I am only doing 3 stars. Bobby was very nice, but came up to talk to me quite a bit before the ceremony. When the reception itself came, he stumbled on our names when he announced us. Though we had asked him not to take requests, he played a lot of requests and didn't get to all of our "must play" list. Lastly, someone at the wedding had a birthday. Around 9:30, he stopped the music cleared the dance floor and had him come to the middle of the floor to be sung happy birthday. Bobby did not ask if he could do this. I probably would have sad yes, but to do something that so blatently took the attention off of the wedding without even asking was frustrating. read more

Steve Bender was AMAZING!!!!! We could not have hired a better DJ for our special day. Steve was extremely helpful and professional from the initial meeting all the way through the wedding and was a blast to work with. Steve did an excellent job of keeping everyone on the dance floor throughout the entire reception. We highly recommend!! read more

Save yourself a hassle and just book Steve Bender Productions to be your wedding DJ. They are extremely easy to work with and a great value! I live out-of-town, so I loved that they have an online planner to not only pick your songs, but communicate with your DJ. It is easy to complete your timeline, event highlights, and any other details that you want. You don't have to think of any of this. You simply use the drop down and/or enter your info. The DJ we picked was Bobby Leach. I loved that he would "tease" the night's highlights, like "Get your cameras ready. The couple will cut the cake after this song." Our guests liked that, too! My dad and brother played guitar and sang our first dance, and Bobby had all the equipment they needed and he did a sound check with them before the reception. He said we provided him one of the most unique song requests lists he had ever seen. It included a song from our friends' band, The Sewing Circle. Not only did he buy their song and play it, he gave a shout out to them and plugged their album! He played every song we requested, and some were rare finds. The sound volume was just right, so that our guests didn't have to scream to converse. I think he had an amazing lighting package and he even brought along glow necklaces/bracelets for the kids and young at heart! Also, my mom asked if we could have a discount for paying early, and they said yes! They are the best! read more
