This company is fantastic! They were able to put together a custom gift basket with tons of delicious gourmet treats and wine and deliver it to my friends in half a day! I texted them (as requested on the voice mail) and Jenn called me back to take my order. She accommodated some food allergy issues by carefully reading labels and offering me suggestions for approved food items. When she tried to deliver it per my instructions, the original address was not correct and she cheerfully called me to get additional details and phone numbers of the recipients. On Mon Oct 17, I called A Special Request long distance as a Park City friend's spouse passed away and I wanted to send a gift basket. I spoke with Beth who explained what she could provide but noted there would be an additional charge for delivery outside of Park City limits. My budget was $100. Beth promised that the basket would arrive by Tue afternoon. The service was Thu and I wanted to make sure the basket would arrive in time while family and friends were still in the area. I asked that she take a photo of the basket and text it to me so I could see what I was sending. I was busy and forgot about it and realized that weekend I had never heard back. I called and left several voice mail messages and received no response. I used the contact form on the website and submitted several messages asking about the basket and advised if it had not gone to please cancel as it was too late. Again, no response. I took the email info from the website and sent emails directly from my email account (not through A Special Request website in case that was the issue) and I received no response. I had been checking my credit card and saw that there was no charge - so I assumed nothing was sent. Speaking with my friend I was told they didn't see / remember any basket coming from me (I will provide the caveat that I can understand how someone who is bereaved might have missed it if there were many delivered.) Finally, on Mon Nov 7 - 3 weeks later - I find a charge on my credit card for the basket. When I call, Beth answers the phone and tells me the basket was delivered as promised. She explains that the person delivering is very trustworthy and certainly delivered the basket on time as promised. I ask about the photo - no explanation as to why not sent. I ask about the website, email, and voicemail messages that were never answered. She had no explanation but would check the website. When I explained how uncomfortable I felt about this transaction - with no proof and no communication, I asked could she understand my caution and my suspicion about the whole thing. When I repeated could you understand why I might feel this way, I was told I was repeating myself and giving her bad energy and she was hanging up as she couldn't speak to me anymore. I have never been to the store - it may have lovely items. I can only emphasize caution noting that I would never again order anything over the phone or deal with this merchant again. read more

I received a wonderful gift basket from A Special Request. This was a surprise 30th anniversary gift from my husband. He did have a special request- that a special piece of jewelry be included in the gift basket. Not only was Beth (owner) able assist him in the actual purchase of that wonderful necklace, the basket was sent from Park City all the way to me in Carlsbad, Ca! Misrepresentation and no effort to rectify the situation. I ordered the Sweet & Salty Wine Time basket for a birthday gift to be delivered downtown Park City. NO WINE!! Thinking my gift would have the two bottles of wine pictured and local products. When I contacted the owner, she played it down. She stated I had to TELL her I wanted wine in the Sweet & Salty Wine Time basket. WHAT??!?!?! Owner told me she always speaks personally with each customer. We did speak by phone, but she never asked me about the wine. She called me to tell me I hadn't paid... I sent her a copy of the transaction on my credit card. I reminded her of the name of the basket and she assured me my recipient would love everything she put in. (indicating it didn't matter the wine was missing) The owner did not offer to rectify the situation or refund any of the $80 +$20 delivery for 5 miles!!!! I paid $100.
