Where and to whom I do not know. I made a down payment that I truly regret making. I will never purchase anything from the Emporium again and caution everyone to avoid custom orders at this store because the owners over promise, raise expectations, and do not meet their deliverable deadline. Further, they have misrepresented themselves as on site furniture makers. We fell for a great sales pitch and are now dealing with poor excuses. We have a sinking feeling that we may never receive our table and chairs. If the owners treat everyone this way, they do not deserve business.

When the colleague / manager came back he said, "They have money. I got the information." Maybe these employees thought that I wasn't swift enough to pick-up on their disgusting conversation and behaviour. My wife and I left the store without buying anything due to what happened to us. Since this is how they treated potential repeat customers we won't be going back there again.

And to be fair, they did do as I asked, but begrudgingly. I had been prepared to tip them, but when the response to my request was a snarky "yeah, that seems to be the theme today," I decided not to. i bought a sectional from them yesterday and it was delivered today. it was a full service…read moreagreement to be delivered and assembled. i was at work today so had a friend stay at my place all day awaiting it's arrival. a confirmation call was made to me last night and the time was to be between 2-4. the driver arrived at 4:30. they brought it up in pieces and left them scattered in my living room with the cushions pilled on my old sofa... my friend left afterwards of course because at no point in the sale was i told that two separate crews were required to do this. they did not take me aware of this during the confirmation call either... i got home at 7 and called them to enquire, the person who answered claimed to be a manager and told me that the set-up guys got there at 6 and no one answered my door.... as for the furniture.. it looked great on the floor and once assembled but truthfully when i saw exactly how this was made to be assembled i realized just how bad i'd been ripped off. the arms are held up by two little bolts upon which they can literally pivot.... the are not fastened to the upper back or made with the intention that both ends would be against walls. everything was glued and stapled into place. elastics for support. i had to assemble it myself because the manager told me that he would not be able to have anyone come back until next tuesday (5 days). i found him to be very rude as he stated "i don't care" "not my problem" and "all sales final". without me ever even bring up a return or raising my voice. he was extremelly defensive and yet aggressive in his words...... i will not be considering them in the future when thinking of making furniture purchases.... i spent alot of money on it and am definately feeling buyers remorse. i regret giving them my business.

Artemano is a Montreal-based company that sells furniture with a pristine quality of exotic wood (our table was made of suar wood imported from Thailand). The quality is there and is a rare find, especially when you compare to flimsy, cheaply made tables from other companies. Marcia helped us out and boy is she a pleasure. She gave us a lot of information about the table we were eyeing, took us to the back to select which exact table we wanted (since they are all made uniquely), and even slashed 50% off the table and chairs (not specifically for us but we loved her for it anyway!). We bought the the table and four chairs and they told us it would be delivered to our new home in two weeks. The table was delivered on the exact day that we were moving in (as expected) and they set it up right in our dining room in no time. They were friendly, polite and professional. We then realized that we probably should have bought two more chairs to complete the set. We returned to Artemano a few weeks later but sadly, the prices of the chairs already went up! Just as I was about to give in, the manager there worked his magic and honored the original price of the chairs for us. That is quality customer service. My Artemano dining table set is my favourite piece in the house and gorgeous to look at. I'm so fortunate I got it at such a great price too (even cheaper than many other furniture stores for such good quality). The customer service was excellent throughout, even with the crazy holiday rush. I had such a great experience and definitely recommending this store to everyone I know!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Criminal and dishonest, worst customer service ever…read more They have a beautiful showroom and lovely pieces, but once you buy, it's downhill from there... We purchased a table, bench and chairs, spending several thousand dollars. The table was missing a piece and it took over three months of constant follow-ups to get the store to mail it to us. The bench color was off and they flat-out refused to exchange or return it, saying that since we had transported it ourselves they could not do anything to help us. Finally, and worst of all, the four "leather" chairs we ordered came six months later, and were 1- not leather, 2- smaller, with less cushioning, and 3- cheaply made - basically a very low quality replica of the luxurious floor models, which were beautiful quality leather. See pictures attached. The chairs were wrapped and boxed up, and, had we not checked them, we would be stuck with them because their policy is that you can't return or exchange anything. It would also have been difficult to be sure of the quality difference, because we would have been unable to compare them with the floor model. Finally, there was an error with reimbursements and they charged our credit card without communicating it to us, several days after our last conversation. This is completely unethical and unacceptable. Throughout the whole nine-month ordeal, it was difficult to get a hold of a manager and to solve these issues. These are all absolutely unethical business practices, and far from our expectations when buying from a store that brands itself as selling quality furniture. Avoid at all costs, seriously. Save your time and sanity, and go elsewhere.

This Urban Barn is relatively new. It's in the Ottawa Trainyards, but the newer section where Nordstrom Rack, Figaro Coffee and Healthy Planet are. This Urban Barn seems much more fancy and upscale than the one I'd usually go to in Stittsville. I really like the displays. I find the prices a bit on the higher side for furniture, but more affordable for things like decorative bowls, pillows, picture frames, etc. Staff are nice and it's a fun place to browse, even if just to go for decorating ideas ;) Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot.
