This plumber missed our scheduled appointment - TWICE with no call, no text, nothing. He ignored my calls--until I dialed from a different number, and suddenly he was very available. Funny how that works. There was zero apology for wasting my time. Instead, he kept pushing to move the job to Saturday so he could charge an extra $75 per hour in weekend rates. Apparently, accountability costs extra, too. I was quoted 1-2 hrs to get this job done. He sent an apprentice who clocked up 4hrs. This kid simply didn't know his stuff, and then threw his tools down and announced that he didn't like the conversation we were having at the breakfast table ( about drugs and children), and if we continued, he was going to stop work and walk out. Nice. My birthday snow weekend was ruined due to constantly waiting around for these guys.. Buyer beware - This crew is always pushing to reschedule to weekend rates so they can charge $75/hr + they take longer than quoted. Two separate real estate agents confirmed they are well known for doing this. If you're looking for reliability, professionalism, or basic courtesy, look elsewhere.....

His work, replacing a pipe under our sink only complicated matters and caused flooding in our kitchen. It was interesting that he seemed not to know what to do, had to borrow $50 because he said his credit cards were maxed out and go back and forth to the Do-It Center. He was sloppy and frustrated. He agreed to a full refund when we had to call in the experts, Mountain Plumbing, to repair Dominick's work. Then he welched and only refunded 50%. I am now going after his contractor's bond. As we learned, locals refer to him as "Dr. Disaster". Stay away, it's worth the wait for a competent plumber. Drain Doctor, Dominick was horrible and caused a lot of damage. He has since been removed from the recommended plumbers list at our condo complex.

I have to agree with the other review on here that Nick and his team are definitely great at…read moregetting the problem solved. On my last trip up to Mammoth there was a major issue. We had sewage get frozen in the main sewer line. This caused a backup and that was definitely not pleasant to deal with whatsoever! However Nick was able to get someone out to the cabin fairly quickly after we had discovered the problem. We didn't know what the problem was at that point, so we started by snaking the drains and were unable to get to the issue. We then went to look for the main outside the cabin and dug down to it. This is when we realized that there wasn't a cleanout installed. So we set a time for the next morning. Pro Tip: Repeat customers get a 10% discount. They arrived on time as agreed (on a Saturday morning no less) got to work installing a cleanout and thus we dug out a good section of the main to be replaced as well. By our having dug the dirt for the plumber we saved them digging it out at an extravagant rate. Yay for saving a few hundred bucks! They installed the cleanouts, reconnected the pipes and knocked out the ice all the way to the sewer in the street. Pro Tip #2: Visa, MC only for charge cards, cash preferred. This was a Godsend as we had been unable to use the toilets, showers, drains, for about 24 hours. Consequently we were super happy to get clean and not have to grab a shrub or run into town to a restroom. The price was reasonable for the work that was done. Therefore I recommend this place if you need some plumbing help in Mammoth or its surrounds. They are johnny on the spot.

Like another reviewer said, wait as long as you have to for someone else. I had to give him my credit card info up front to come out on short notice. That should've been my first red flag. I was quoted $200/hr for weekend rate with a 2 hour minimum. That should've been my second red flag. 2 hours and $475 later he failed to get the shower drain unclogged. His reason/excuse was that it was frozen or blocked with something solid, not a clog, which ended up being a misdiagnosis. Makes me wonder if he's just inept or if this was a ploy to come back to charge more. I waited over a week for him to come back but he said he was sick and didn't know if or when he could make it back. That was a blessing in disguise. I had already called Schilling plumbing and got on their waitlist. Although I had to wait another 9 days they got the drain clog cleared in 45 minutes for $175. I tried reaching out and complaining to Mike to ask for a partial refund. No reply. I guess he'd rather continue to get bad reviews than be reasonable with his customers. Avoid Mike/Mountain Plumbing at all costs. Call Schilling first. Even if you have to wait.

He showed up injured and my husband had to help him to do the job. Actually my husband had to actually do all the physical work. And then he full popped him for the cost of the job. Nice. While we remodeled the other bathroom the manager of the complex pointed out a leak in the garage where the first bathroom was. To make a long story shorter, with everyone using the finished bathroom, what was apparently a small leak became bigger. Mark did not accept responsibility for his work. He did show up to re-do the joint after a video was provided but did not think he should pay for all the labor to tear out and replace the brand new tile. I mean he seriously thinks he is not responsible. I guess the bathroom fairy poked a hole in it. Leaks happen. You fix them. But you should have the integrity to stand by your work. I bought an air conditioner in June 2019 that was reasonably priced, but the rep snuck a club membership into the deal for $99 a year without making it clear what it was. I decided to just let it go and take advantage of the inspections offered in the plan for a year. When the heating inspection guy came out a few months later he told me that my ignition sensor was bad and really needed to be replaced, though the furnace was working just fine. He told me I would be sorry if I let it go and ended up without heat in the winter. If you don't know, ignition sensors can be had on Amazon for 5-15 dollars and any amateur can install one by in 5 minutes with the help of a youtube video. He handed me a quote for $475 - this for a $7 part that would have taken him 3 minutes to swap out. He also mentioned that my furnace that had sat were it was for years needed to be rotated 90 degrees to pass code, which is also an absurdity. As if all this wasn't enough, I just noticed that Deans had recently charged my credit card another $99. You see, the club is a permanent thing and they will continue to charge you $99 as an device to get into your house and attempt to rip you off as long as you allow them to do it. Avoid this company.

Our heater which is brand new, warranty until 2028, stopped working shortly after we purchased our home. Got a diagnosis from Bishop Heating and Air, but they had a long wait time for getting the part installed, so we went with Dean's. I relayed all info - already had a diagnosis, using our warranty which is good until 28', gas valve needs replacement, don't need Dean's to send someone to diagnose, we just need the part ordered and installed. They sent someone to diagnose, which I repeated again, that we did not need. After they got the part, tech comes and installs the gas valve and says "they don't usually change the shape of the part unless there was something wrong with it from the manufacturer" to which I respond, "well I'm happy it's covered by the warranty". Long story shorter.. They tried to charge us for the diagnostic appointment (which literally never happened, no one showed up, it was a phone call of me telling them we only needed an appointment to install the part). And they charged us for the $300 gas valve which I had repeated to two of their employees was warranty work. I explained the situation and had to argue my position. They took the service charge off for the appointment that never happened (which was written on the bill as if he had shown up), but insisted that I never told them about it being warranty work. I asked to speak with the owner multiple times, and asked that they have him call me. Never heard from him. We feel scammed. We recommend paying attention when businesses have an unusually high rate of bad reviews. We will not use Dean's again and we send anyone we know elsewhere.
