History
Established in 2016.
A Quilting Stitchuation, LLC opened in beautiful Ruidoso, NM on December 17, 2016 and had the Grand Opening on January 19, 2017.
November 30, 2021 we moved from our location in Ruidoso, to 229 Fort Stanton Road in Alto, NM and opened up the quilt shop next door to our Retreat Center, Stitch-n-Pines Retreat Center!
Meet the Business Owner: Jackie H.
Jackie and Eugene started their quilting business in Alaska in a small quilt shop. It started with a streetrod/hotrod t-shirt quilt, the purchase of a longarm, and then evolved into a quilt shop. For the next year and a half Jackie planned out how a full-size shop would be designed and set-up to accommodate quilters in the best way. She took her experiences with classes, shops and customers to create her shop.
Fast forward to 2016, they decided to move back to the lower 48 for more sun (but still in the mountains), seasons, and a place that needed a quilt shop. Ruidoso, NM fit the bill.
In March 2016 they found a home in Alto, NM and purchased it the following June. They closed up shop in Alaska and by October 9th they were in NM searching for a building to open their shop. November 7th they found it beside Dominos and Mountain Home Furnishings.
The Hunter's love it here and are grateful every day for the new friends they've met and the warm welcome they continue to receive.
